[Life Post] Thank you for encouraging :)

Someone suggested I might as well start a blog dedicated to reviewing Chinese BL novels that are not included in NovelUpdates database, or simply share everything here. At first I was a bit resistant to this thought, since I know I might not be as dedicated, but at times I really have a need to burst on paper, in this case digitally, to express my thoughts on things I read, good or bad.

Thus, I take the chance before 2021 to start a new thing. I am in no way a professional writer and I often tend to babble a lot, the only good thing I know about myself is experience of reading. Although this includes many more genres, but let's cut the scope to Asian market. And Chinese BL novels will dominate for a reason. The reason is long:

I started reading BL manga back then I was 16, actually I was shown a BL OVAs "Ai no Kusabi" which is considered a classic title. From then on I was interested in BL world too. I never minded the relationship of two same sex people and some stories were new and fascinating unlike bleak world of major shoujo stream. With time my tastes changed and unnecessary, vulgar works were chipped off (which is majority of Japanese market, so it' a huge loss). Not knowing the whole background several years ago I switched to Korean market, which tbh is a big mistake and a waste of time. Unfortunately Koreans like drama for the sake of drama and explore very toxic and unhealthy relationships and sexualizing many unpretty things. Until Mo Dao Zu Shi came into view and overturned the previous dullness into new and colorful world. It was the first novel I was acquainted with and from then on started to explore more and more works once again shaping tastes of what I like and what I don't like. Best part of Chinese BL world is, no matter hwo funny it sounds, is censorship, yes that's right. Unlike unscurpulous Japanese and Korean authors who satisfy their readers by a huge amount of plain smut, Chinese authors don't have this type of leisure, that's why they were pushed on the road of creativity. It doesn't mean that all works by default are good, but at least they are interesting. I might be wrong and maybe Japanese BL novels and Korean novels aren't that bad, but my impression over the years was stimulated to such a negative point that I don't want to find out. Thus I happily stuck into Chinese BL world, which I'm preparing to share bit by bit here.
