[Chinese BG novel] 蜜桃咬一口 by 鹿灵 / A bite of peach

Summary: Jian Tao is a popular florette in the entertainment industry, from her first viral dancing to the consequent roles in dramas she has become a top traffic. Xie Xinchuan is a second son from teh Xie family, it is rumored that he entered entertainment industry just for fun, but he reached heights others would not dare to dream about. And no one knew that two people who were described to openly have the worst relationship ever were actually secretly married.

Jian Tao strictly followed the contract of her company and thought that Xingchuan did the same, she couldn't interact with him, have works together before she wanted to win an endorsement that would allow to showcase her ability to dominate the big screen,s he wanted to use it for winning a big leading role. So she asked him to connect her with the variety show that would help her. But this variety show allowed them to have the emotional breakthrough and stop being a plastic couple.

The entire network said - any other CP can overturn, but the fakest CP of these two will never, because everyone knows they're impossible.

I must say closer to the middle and the later section are quite delicate and emotionally it's actually a nice love story. So the later part is the better part to me. I'm saying this, because partially I felt I needed some of the imformation disclosed later to be known earlier, especially about the heroine.

Story

The story indeed starts from the variety show. In this moment in time Jian Tao and Xingchuan actually don't have a complete plastic marriage, they are intimate, but they are not close emotionally and you can say during this long stay together they finally build up the emotional connection and their relationship gets a deeper connotation, but the reason they got married and why they act like this is brushed off, Jian Tao only says it was needed, but what for is a mystery for some time.

She actually had a misconception about Xingchuan too, maybe because he brought the feeling they had during the year he transferred to her school, like "this guy is handsome, yes indeed, but sometimes he says some irritating things that deserve a beating". It was also a mystery why Xingchuan acted like that, which we find out exactly when we gat a backstory for Jian Tao herself. But at this time you note that he's not some emotionless scumbag, he would do good things for her, but he want present it as kindness or a gesture of other emotion. maybe I was reading without thinking much and now thinking back maybe hint was in there? That for a reason he did not show his goodwill, but you know for sure that he hides emotions in his heart towards her. But why not disclose it?

At this time Jian Tao really thinks that both got what they wanted from this marriage and he obliged by the need of being as separate on camera as possible, so everyone knew they had a bad relationship, but no one knew they were classmates for a year.

The show allowed them to be together and Jian Tao indeed was afraid to be found, but there were situations where she needed his help and they acted as if having an affair behind the production team back. Funnily one person eventually found out, but she was so positive about them that she was happily guarding their relationship, which was cute.

later when they finished filming after a long time Jian Tao stayed with Xingchuan at his place, because it was most comfortable and also the connection they've built she did not want to break off suddenly. They are indeed busy people, having announcements and work, but later they return to this room to stay together.

Later it is explained why she is the way she is, why they got married.

And there is a story from his side, because now that she is interested, although not completely understanding her own heart, she finds out the truth about Xingchuan who was always like an aloof young master who liked to bicker with her, later they did not see each other much and later when he needed a partner and she needed a home they reached such an agreement, but only digging deeper and finally uncovering the truth she realized what secret was held in his heart all these years.

Of course it's a happy ending, because it was hard for her to imagine someone else, although emotionally she thougth she would be fine alone when they achieve what they strived for in this relationship, but realized that she can't go on alone anymore.

Characters

Main characters fo the story and the focus of attention are Jian Tao and Xie Xingchuan. Some secondary characters also appear, but they don't have that deep impression, so they only serve a supporting role.

Jian Tao is actually a really serious person about her career, otherwise she wouldn't plan to go to variety show, to get endorsment and enhance her chances getting the role that was auditioned for several rounds for months. Although it is brushed off, but at least you can feel that she is running around all the time, spends her time preparing and doing stuff to prove that she not only a traffic flower, but an actress, she wants to be recognized. So here is interesting to see the effect of her choices that seemingly lead to what she is striving for. Like the programs she chooses or works etc. Of course it is beautifully crowned with success. What is great is that this novel simply lacks black material and drama of many entertainment articles.

Xie Xingchuan is seemingly at the peak of this circle, untouchable, but the only person who holds him in this circle is actually his wife. Although he seems aloof, but he is a man of profound emotion. His deep love for Jian Tao is really touching. Even if he acts like a dog almost all the time, but this is also explained, but the part where he explains his past and feelings is something I think I got impressed about the most from the novel.

Now why I think that I needed some information a bit earlier or I simply might have not caught on "hints".

This has something to do with Jian Tao's past, it is actually dumped on you quite heavily and suddenly and this actually made me tear up.

Jian Tao was always living with her grandma, her mother is said to be working outside and her father is the only who accompanied her, but after a short and happy childhood it became only a heavy burden and suffocation. Her father wanted her to achieve greatness and pushed her the hardest, she did not have any leisure like others, she always had to go to some extra classes, doing everything extra, even was made to go to the science class she didn't like. And when her marks didn't reach the top, although they were in top ten which is a great result for others, she was belittled and lectured, but it was all wrapped up in the package of "love", so she feared love from the opposite sex and refused everyone. Thus Xingchuan's attitude towards the relationship, he knew her better than she knew herself, he knew she would run away if he confessed back then and they might even not be friends anymore. She was not ready for love at all.

But then her father met a rich woman who asked him to completely cut the relationship with the past and he ran the fastest and abandoned his own daughter for instant success. But also even sold the old house, so she didn't even have a home to come back to. She had nothing behind her, no financial help, nothing. Thus she agreed to the marriage proposal, she wanted some connection not to get lost in this world where everyone praised her for her good looks, good grades, being sensible, "the other people's child", but she was abandoned by her parents. Her father did not achieve anything and her mother who was supposed to work outside just escaped, because she considered it a "poor" household, so he pushed all the demands on his daughter, to make his ex-wife regret leaving them.

Her father doesn't appear much in the story, only in her flashback memories of childhood and during marriage (you can see that he is ready to sacrifice his own daughter for his own success) and after Jian Tao became a hit with her movie he came back wanting the whole family, her biological mother included, to have a family dinner, but she made her attitude clear and left.

This is why she was against love and only after finding out how Xingchuan loved her all these years she was moved.

Back to Xingchuan. Some of these things are unfortunately brushed off, so some parts make you feel like a lot of time was spent on them, but actually his past didn't get a lot of time, his love instead had enough space.. maybe because this story doesn't want to have anything too dark this is why it doesn't go into detail, but I didn't have enough of him here.

His mother was the second wife of his father, very kind woman, she also introduced a person to the Xie family, who eventually became a mistress and later Xingchuan's stepmother and her son is only three years younger than Xingchuan. It is not really detailed how this stepmother wanted to act against him, we only know that she transferred him twice, year with Jian Tao, year in another school. Well, we know he was lonely and had to pretend to be like a dandy to lower his stepmother's vigilance. I really felt like it lacked being a bit more profound here.

For him he also felt like he was drifting like Jian Tao, but when he transferred schools she was the one who caught him, inadvertantly, and he fell deeply in love. If someone is described as White Moonlight, she was it for him. Their highschool bickering, his idea of confessing, but knowing how she would react he held back time and time again. Marrying her for the sake of making his stepmother to believe that he's still a dandy was all excuse, he just caught the chance to be together. Their intimate life was a complete surprise to him, because it came from her drunk accident and she took initiative (she didn't remember) and from then on they continued to be intimate, because she wasn't repulsed too.

The variety show indeed gave them a chance to develop, but looking back you now know why he still said things in irritating way instead of making it sound like she does it because he cares about her.

Later when he finally pierced this window paper she started to feel more and eventually finds out through random memory box the secret of him having someone in his heart and only meeting his friend who spilled the beans she realized that he was talking about herself, the one in Xingchuan's heart always been her for all these years. She stayed with him.

He actually did a lot of things behind her back, like his travels back which were rare were all about her, some of the things he did and even the reason why he enetered entertainment industry was also were results of her inadvertant words.

The way he took back the company left by his mother is skipped, only some short episode where he met his father who should now feel the consequences of betrayal of that time. So partially I felt it was not enough of a backstory for him, even though it was still touching when his love for her was explained, it is truly the only love and it could only be her for him.

RATE: 4/5. Some occasional feel of shallowness did not diminish the fact that I liked it, especially the parts that were treated with care. It's a good love story that is completely harmless with only a drop of tear to feel compassioned about main character. Overall feeling is really nice and by the end you feel happy about these two.

[Chinese BL novel] 我把银行卡拍首富脸上[重生] by 常花一笑 / I slapped my bank card in the face of the richest man

Title is as always mtl'd.

Summary: Chu Wei was reborn years back, when he was still a rich young man and his family did not survive the bankruptcy. Feeling that he can do something for his future he invested his money in prospering future businesses and currently was having fun in the club to celebrate a break-up with a scumbag boyfriend who is actually straight but had to pretend just to get money from him. The naive young Chu Wei is no longer here. But during the celebration Chu Wei noticed a familiar face of future big boss and heard word like 5 years and 200k, thinking  crookedly he threw his bank card and said: "300k, follow me". Lu Jianliang who was signing a lease contract with an uncle was surprised by such picture, but followed. Which was the beginning of their journey on a career growth path and also unexpected love.

Shining point - the style. It was humorous and light-hearted and fluid. I was comfortable reading this novel and it was fun to follow these two characters. It is more career-oriented story and a bit idealistic. But partially it was a showcase of who Chu Wei is, he is indeed said to be an ideallist. Although the romance is present, but it's not really that obvious or taking the C position. The time spent on realizing their feelings was long and also after passing it seemed that their relationship was a bit subtle with nothing shoved into your face.. like many things I think were said in passing. Although it was hard for them to be dating like many others and doing fun things with the busyness they had.

So what is the story about?

Chu Wei was reborn and he knew that because of technological changes in the communication sphere his family will face a predicament, it happened in the last life. Previous BB machines his family produced became not needed at once and there was no buffer time, plus his father supported a lot of his relatives who basically sucked his blood and when something happened they were nowhere to be seen. Chu Wei later went to work and they paid off debts and he also worked in programming, so when he came back to the past his thoughts were on another level. Mainly he missed the Internet and smartphones.

Investing into Lu Jianliang was an obvious thing and he also stayed as a tech director, because he knew from history that it was time when Lu Jianliang faced a predicament too, whoch he later overcame but at what cost. This has something to do with a collegue and a friend who wanted to take away the most precious thing, the developed software and all the computers, which cost a lot at that time and flee abroad. This hurdle was overcome by them and as a tech Chu Wei lead the small studio to a bigger success. He knew that many people of this studio are future bosses, he also knew other future bosses and he tried recruit everyone.

Although Chu Wei is not a capitalist like Lu Jianliang, he's more conscious I'd say, but his inadvertent opinions inspired Lu Jianliang to make changes to his existing plans, like they knew the number of active users on domestic net is small, but there is enough people abroad, they promoted Dragon forum and their game along. This was the first pot of gold an dthe beginning of success.

The studio became a company, they moved and occupied a new office, they recruited many new people and the path to success started to take shape. Like placing ads on the forum, next developing a trading site and not only concentrating on developing games.

On Chu Wei's side he actually invested in several industries, but now because he wanted to create a mobile phone earlier he waited for his chance. He helped a company which wanted to createa smart portable computer and transformed into future mobile phones. Later he helped few bankrupted BB factories to transform and produce simplified versions of new mobile phones and because he was at the forefront he always earned more. Even if he knew that he might stay one day and be squeezed out, but for now he knew that with the knowledge of the future he could be the first to do things. Also because his previous mobile phones were so successful between the rich it became a brand of status. He's not as sharp as Lu Jianliang, but at least he tried his best.

In the end it was nice to see them thinking of funding and charity, so they built schools at their city and planned to expand to other places where schools were needed.

This is why I say that he is ideallist, Chu Wei several times proposed things he thought would be beneficial and will push their people forward. Like he knew these things are important and he wanted to help.

One of the biggest such things actually happened very early, because of chnges there were many lay-offs and people were left without jobs, so to solve this problem they pushed the information about investment to foreign investors, basically it pushed the process of foreign investment forward and alos the coverage was wider.

In many ways the Internet showed it's glory in unification of information.

One of such sotires is a very side-cjaracter that is mentioned in passing, Li Weiwei, she has no idea who both main characters are, she's just one of those laid-off workers, but because of foreign investment they finally found a job in garment factory. because the Internet started to develop her collegues talked about it, so she once allowed herself to look at it and then her husband noticed the advertisement of goods for sale (you know how may people took the goods for sale and were responsible for transportating them ot other places too and earned the difference). This allowed them to earn more, but later the trading platform made things even better, so her family basically supported the Zhulu company (name of Lu and Chu company), because they were inadvertant helpers to their situation.

As for family situation of Lu family, actually Chu Wei's involvement saved Lu's mother who was staying in the hospital all this time and waiting for surgery. Lu family was previously a wealthy now, but Lu father was swidnled out of money and eventually they went bankrupt, only the studio Jianliang had stayed, but Lu father was gone.

As for the Chu family, Chu Wei several times tried to persuade Chu father to change and be prepared to transform, but he was stubborn and listened to his relatives like a holy father, when the predicament happened like last time they faced the same development and all relatives turning heads and not willing to help. As a result this time Chu Wei asked Chu father for full authority and fired all relatives, bought the factory and then sued all those relatives for fraud, since they indeed were involved into fraud according to the contract. Chu father was hit, but when he realized that either his wife divorces him or he chooses his relatives who did nothing good for him he eventually stopped caring about them.

As for the romantic line.

At first the two were funnily bickering, which was actually a funny sight to follow and also it wa slively and humorous. Chu Wei did not consider Lu Jianliang as possible partner, he had enough with one straight partner. Later he realized that other make him uncomfortable, but he was okay with Lu Jianliang. Yet how should he act if the other person is a straight man, so he wanted just to retreat and do his own thing.

Lu Jianliang had no idea about girls or boys, but one day he reacted to Chu Wei. He actually thought he was a scumbag who was after someone's body, but later Chu Wei to him became cuter and cuter and it developed into feelings. 

The break happened when Chu Wei wanted to leave/retreat and start independent things, like factory transformation. Lu Jianliang agreed to him, but he also confessed his feeling and went along with Chu Wei as a lady boss. Previously Lu Jianliang often joked about being a kept boy etc. He also knew about Chu Wei's relationship story, but he never changed his opinion. But now as shameless as he is he didn't mind to call himself boss lady and stick to Chu Wei.

Interestingly, that except the ex-scumbag whow as so against gays, but the rest of people felt as if they were pretty okay about the two being together and heard only blessings from others (sometimes even before they came together).

RATE: 4/5. Light-hearted and easy read. Quite short and actually really nice.

Props to those who wrote this and also directed such a music video. I think it's the first time I heard drum&bass in a music track in kpop and the music video with such interesting thriller/horror vibe. Deeply fascinating.

[Chinese BL novel] 带球没跑掉 by 混元三喜 / I didn't run away with the ball

Summary: (mpreg) Jiang Li is suddenly reborn on the cruise ship he had five years ago, the day he drank spiked water and had a thrist with Huo Mudong for two days. Huo Mudong misunderstood him as being sent by a rival company, so he dismissed him with a check in his previous life, but what Jiang Li did not expect getting from this passionate moment was a cute little daughter Duoduo, his little padded jacket, his little sweetheart. But now that he is back and is again under the influence of medicine, but he also has his own pride, he walked out, but then with little clarity realized that with no Mudong there will be no Duoduo, so for the sake of his little girl he returned. He had no idea that their relationship will develop into something more.

I must say there were several places that rubbed me the wrong way, but let's talk about shining points first.

Jiang Li is not a dodder flower and not a complete queen, he is kind but has a strong will. He was adopted when he was a baby few months old and I don't care about speaking in spoilers, because he was actually bought from traffickers, this cliche setting resurfaces later in the novel. So when his adoptive parents got their own child his status in the family plumetted as you can guess, very common story of child abuse and blood sucking from relatives who don't treat you as relatives. In previous life due to face Jiang Li indeed paid off the "upbringing" costs, but any sane person knows that its' parents' responsibility to bring up their kids, now something that requires a payback. But he did it and eventually broke off the relationship with his adoptive parents due to his condition, after all he had no idea he was pregnant, penniless he had nowhere to go and only the doctor took good care of him as he was a rare case too. This allowed him to eventually grow and later achieve financial freedom.

Now he could rely on himself, pay for himself and be self-reliant, you could see that he is a kind person but if he decides on something he is pretty stubborn.

The other good part is later relationship when Huo Mudong decides to be serious about Jiang Li and build a future with him, then he really takes serious measures to show what he is capable of.

The storyline is very simple. They meet on a cruise ship, for conceiving Duoduo Jiang Li stays with Mudong and becomes lovers. They stay together. Jiang Li works in the Internet/game company, Mudong also owns internet copmany, both collaborate. Jiang Li develops feelings, but is told down by Mudong. Later Jiang Li finlly conceives and leaves Mudong.

Parallel to that we heard from adoptive Jiang family from time to time, but nothing new, just acting disgustingly, guirding against Jiang Li everywhere. Jiang Li also stops to support them and lives alone.

Mudong chases Jiang Li around and comes out to his family who don't accept the boy. Mudong wants to prove himself and that Jiang Li is also excellent, by this time Jiang Li resigned from previous company and changed to what he did in the past life - drawing. he collaborated on the new game using a vest. Mudong's father divested and now it was him against others. Riding the wave after advertising new game things got better and the rushed to success. Mudong also finds that Jiang Li is pregnant, after all now seeing sincirety from Mudong, Jiang Li couldn't help but confess and want a full family. Of course Mudong is happy.

Here Mudong finds out that Jiang Li might be abducted and tries to help him find clues. He also waeved a net for Jiang father who always wanted to get rich overnight trading stocks after knowing their deeds against Jiang Li. Jiang Li indeed found his loving parents, they may not be some big shots, but they're really good. But for adoptive Jiang things did not go as good. First stocks, later it spread that they bought children from traffickers and their reputations plummetted.

While our family now reunited Jiang Li could feel himself protected, Jiang Li's mom could handle old Mr Huo like no one else. And story ends with Jiang Li giving birth and giving Mudong a status and confessing love. I honestly thought he'd confess about his rebirth, was so serious.

Now the things that rubbed me the wrong way. Except that this is.. a pretty basic story tbh, there is nothing new, like abusive adoptive parents, uneven status in the relationship, happy finding biological parents, some family drama although the style is quite peaceful.

But the biggest pet peeve, three pet peeves of this story were the way Huo Mudong was so stubborn on them just having a fling with no future (no balls to admit you can be something more), his parents did not accept Jiang Li and Jiang Li misunderstanding Huo Mudong several times (more like misinterpreting him and making his own mind, wrongly) and later not giving him a status for a long time.

Let's start with the first one and why I think it felt wrong.

When Huo Mudong and Jiang Li start their relationship he has a bad impression of Jiang Li because he was plotted against and he was given medicine, so he thought he comes from the rival company like a spy. Later it was cleared, but Huo Mudong still insisted on underground relationship. This part in my opinion was portrayed really badly, like yes he said it several times that for the sake of business and such it was obvious for him to marry a person of similar status, but you don't really see anything behind that one phrase, some sort of backstory from which such conviction comes from, so you feel really bad about his character at first. Soon you know he has a change of feelings, but again there is a long emphasis that he can't give him status as a marriage partner. Jiang Li actually fell in love with Huo Mudong at some point, because he treated him really well despite saying such harsh words and it was really misleading. Eventually Huo Mudong accepted that he loves Jiang Li and wants to be together, but Jiang Li who was quite disappointed abided by the agreement, break-up with no fuss. It was Huo Mudong who made fuss now, but by this time Jiang Li got pregnant and Huo Mudong's role became mediocre. You can call the next part chasing wife to the crematorium, but also a redemption arc. Huo Mudong started to act more openly in his pursuit, he also came out to his parents, made the company his own completely and worked hard to work, so he proved to be worthy of giving it a try, but the probation period lasted till Duoduo was born. Jiang Li had enough of dominated the CEO.

The second one is Huo's family attitude. Why I didn't get it is because you know the structure of the family. The eldest one is not cut out for business and is also a playboy, second sister married out and also wasn't good at it, Huo Mudong was the most promising, but I truly don't get why make him bend, just because he's the most outstanding? While for example the eldest has a story where he paid astronomical sum of money to a star to abort the child she suddenly had, he was notorious playboy. They all said at the beginning with great fanfare that "in a family like ours". In real wealthy families they might as well marry like that and Huo family is indeed wealthy, but you know what is funny? You don't know the scope of their wealth actually. I've finished the novel and I had no feeling of wealthy family at all (at least describe me some villas and cars). The only plausible reason given later is that their own Huo family has many other members and relationships are tricky, what would it look like if Mudong will come out with male lover, someone has to inherit the family... but from another point of course you want your son not to be alone and have kids, but it's not like you can speculate on future and be so sure. And also why you insist on Mudong having a kid while you still have two eldest. They don't feel the same pressure just because you consider them not quilified? Rubbed me the wrong way. And Mr Huo indeed was stubborn till the very end and ran as fast as he could only when he heard that he had a grandchild. It's good that Jiang Li's mom was found at this time and she is a firecracker so she gave Mr Huo so much face that he would never forget.

Third and least, but sometimes at the beginning Jiang Li really misinterpreted Mudong's facial impressions a lot. Like he has such a dark face he must hate me.. are you for real? At other times thought Mudong will use pressure or his position to submit. Did not have a high opinion of Mudong's character I guess. And also at the end when he kept hanging Huo Mudong who already groveled around after feeling guilty for his previous actions.

Anyway, rubbed me the wrong way the feel it gave me, thus I couldn't completely enjoy it.

[Chinese BL novel] 我可怜，我装的[快穿] by 樱满庭 / I'm pretenting to be pitiful

It's been a while since I've read world hopping / quick transmigration novel and also it's been a while since I've touched something with a brain hole like this. I'd say for year '22 when it was published such characters and plots feel old-fashioned.

From the same author as previously reviewed "I recovered from illness when my ex went bankrupt", this is basically I picked it up. I even felt refreshed reading something like this, even if I know it's partially bad :) You know when you knows it's trashy, but you still have fun with it.

Summary: System 555 hired a new host who is supposed to be a popular director Rong Huai, he allocated a script and explained that from now on he takes the role of a cannon fodder and must follow and help the child of destiny with everything, basically like follow and die for them. Rong Huai agreed with a good face, but in the end completely destroyed children of destiny.

From confusion to realization that Rong Huai is not a simple director system 555 simply laid back and lit candles for those children of destiny and after witnessing the plots and Rong Huai's actions actually was on his side.

Rong Huai didn't take those children of destiny seriously, but was more concerned about finding a person, whose name is A Yan.

Why I say this is old-fashioned is because it has a lot of brain holes. On top of it is the ML Chao Yan who reincarnates in every world without a memory is like a dog in heat :) His love at first sight is actually explained later, so I wasn't mad much and their relationship is also explained. But for arc plots, they're a bit basic of course and in most cases those cannon fodders actually feel like pitiful people who do not deserve such fate. Children of destiny = scumbags in short. Arcs are short, move fast and everything has a quick pace. Because of such fast pace it feels like many things happen in the same day (which is obviously not possible tbh), creating cheap food effect. Also has many one-dimensional characters when it comes to plots, because they feel like they were set on some sort of track they should follow and don't use brain. Also some act kind of stupid (I was especially surprised by the action of e-sports player who added allergen in Rong Huai drink and caused him to go into shock eventually, but it was during championship and such things were known to public, Rong Huai's allergy, as a result there would have been an investigation and the person would have been found anyway, I can understand that he did it in a state of temporary confusion, but I don't know what he thought about, this way he either enters the game under intentional harm or just loses the game). Some act impulsively like this without consequences.. Maybe I got used to people considering consequences so I was surprised, it's not like people don't act stupid in real life.

But I can't say that this novel is without some sound ideas and I especially liked the revelation of Rong Huai's past, since it was brought up several times throughout the novel and it felt like it was important and indeed it was.

Also the relationship between the two. It kind of had a weird beginning. At first Rong Huai did not believe when he met a person exactly like Chao Yan, but with a different personality traits that it was his A Yan. He did not take it seriously, but what was real is that it was indeed Chao Yan's reincarnation. Later he guessed it too. Rong Huai wanted to look for A Yan, because he remembered that Chao Yan was the one who he thought betrayed him and locked him before he regained consciousness years later in modern society. He wanted to ask for a reason of his betrayal, but he did not know that eventually they will develop a romantic relationship in those worlds and become a passionate couple.

Now about the story itself, mainly big spoilers :)

To explain we should start from the ending where everything is explained to make sense out of this story, so it won't sound completely useless :)

Rong Huai's world is a main world. Thousands of small worlds are derrived from the main world and exist in parallel time and space. Above it exists the main Lord God who sucks the luck out of small worlds to continue to exist and manipulate them. Due time many of the worlds died in despair, from this despair an evil god was born - Chao Yan. He wounded the main Lord God and traveled to the main world. Except main Lord God there are other small gods occupying smaller worlds and one of them tried to plot against the main world and its' son of luck and that is Rong Huai. Rong Huai should have been treated better and had a wonderful fate, but his fate was manipulated by one of these smaller gods. He created a legend that Rong Huai is a broom star and the incompetent emperor believed it. SInce then Rong Huai lived with his mother in dire straits. Because his mother was mentally disturbed she whipped him and taught him humility. But this would not help him in life, those who wanted to humiliate him would always find an excuse for their actions. All this happened before a war broke out, barbarians were almost at their doorsteps and emperor escaped to the borders where a famous general lived. But Rong Huai stayed and had to dance to stay alive, eventually when the general brought his army back he was recued, but emperor thought his way of survival was a shame. He thought he later found a master, but had no idea that he was plotted against again. Eventually when he rescued another prince, he was accused of being the one who pushed the prince down. To atone he was asked to be sacrificed to heaven. After all the one who pretended to be his master was the one who plotted against him the most. On the day of the sacrifice Rong Huai realized his essence that he is the son of luck and basically integrated with the world, thus a massacre happened on this day and he killed everyone except his vicious brother Rong Kang who acted against him the most and the Emperor himself. Rong Huai took the trone by force and the palace was filled with living dead people, because they would not lie and plot. He was completely insecure before the general who rescued him back then arrived to help against invading forces. They became close, but Rong Huai still lived with insecurity. He poisoned the general Nie, but regretted it instantly, he tried to preserve the general's body and find a way to revive him. Looking for Taoist he met Chao Yan. His body was special, because he could manipulate fire, but it also felt like he was always burned by fire (also mentioned in every world). Chao Yan joined Rong Huai and battled against invaders and other to completely unite all lands and make it one. Rong Huai thought they were best together as friends. Once Chao Yan's condition worsened and he was on fire, Rong Huai used his blood to heal Chao Yan, but also placed a curse on it, when Chao Yan feels worse he will feel it. He wanted to find a way to help Chao Yan, though the other did not ask for it. This is the period when Rong Huai is completely different from his later developed character, he is insecure, can't trust others, anyway he has issues. This was a time when a void god appeared in front of him and made an offer, to find a way he can come to the main Lord God and he will help him. He did find the main God and actually killed him, integrated with the main godhood and returned, here void god offered two godhoods, for general Nie and Chao Yan. Rong Huai made up his mind and agreed and the godhood of main God was stripped off from him, so the "new" main Lord God was born. Although Rong Huai did it with good intentions but he was too fast to act for short-term gains and did not take into consideration why Chao Yan refused and enlightened him. As a result he had no idea that Chao Yan wounded main god for a reason, he wanted to cut off this vicious cycle of worlds suffering to be plundered and deprived of their luck and be destroyed, but Rong Huai helped another god to become the main one and continue to act the same. Thus he put Rong Huai away for keeping him safe and he himself went on rampage agains smaller gods and the new main God. To kill the God completely he you could say almost self-destructed and being picked up from small world by Rong Huai allowed him to recuperate and eventually remember thepast lives and who he is. At this point only the main system was left. If it wasn't for Rong Huai finding it, it might have continued to operate, but who knows for how long. But while reading the arcs you had the feeling like these people did not deserve to be called children of destiny, since they were mostly scumbags.

So Rong Huai is the son of luck from the main world, because he integrated with godhood he lived for hundreds of years without getting old. When he woke up it was a modern society, he tried many professions, accumulated wealth and now he was a director. So eventually he changed as a person.

Although it's a bit jittery and might not be anything new, but it's still not a bad explanation behind the story and the characters.

Arcs.

Arc I. Soft rice phoenix man. Tells a story about scumbag agent who supported his White Moonlight stepping on his bf Rong Huai, using him as a stepping stone, using his resources and connections etc. But Rong Huai is not a soft persommon. Here comes the first view of Rong Huai being omnipotent and it's on the verge of he's the only one like this and has so much in his head. This is why I say it has a taste. He met A Yan here, healed him, because he new medicine too (makes sense actually, because later it is explained that Rong Huai tried many professions and doctor was one of them), but the funny thing is.. no one without a license would be allowed to operate, otherwise it'd be considered illegal actually and Rong Huai in this world is just an actor who did not go to university.

Arc II. 100% matching. The first world where both Rong Huai and A Yan had a so-called relationship, but Rong Huai wrote it off as affect from pheromones since it's an ABO world. This world has a reborn character who thought Rong Huai was after her, though original Rong Huai was infatuated, but a kind man to support the girl after hearing her tragic story, found a hospital for her mother, paid for everything including her hobbies. Now this girl was against him, wanted him to admit he stole the papers, which would ruin his reputation, just because he comes from a rich family. Original Rong Huai was A, but had second differentiation into O, which played in the story. Of course he stopped sponsoring the girl who now only had her learning system. Rong Huai often acted by the principle of giving a little something and then making people fall into mud. This is why I say that partially these stories have logic. Like he gave her a place in the Olympiad, even if she was proven to steal the papers for herself, but when she got a mansion thanks to her system and couldn't wait but show off, he contacted the Olympiad Committee and informed them of her stealing papers. She lost her placing,a nd the backlash was that people found her certificate of purchase was faked. Big downfall.

Arc III. Reborn girl who uses krypton gold to gain beauty. Again ungrateful person. Slave girl who actually was treated very well, used money from Rong family to feed her stream that gave her beauty. Eventually she would have become the most beautiful and marry well, but Rong Huai found a loophole, no matter how many things you feed the stream of youth it must continue, which could eventually thin any treasury. Original Rong Huai took care of the girl, but not our RH. This time A Yan landed as a future famous general. Although they started from the worst beginning, but because A Yan always fell for RH he kind of submitted. They lived like this some time before A Yan allowed him to prove himself on the frontier. As for the girl she was demoted again and again before she figured her origins. As it seemed she had a father who left them and married into a wealthier family, his son became a number one scholar, so she found her family when was thrown out. Some time she lived in limelight, though her beauty was known to others, but I think she should have still had a slave contract in Rong family. So everyone talked to a maid girl actually and regarded her a big beauty, she also fed the stream family business deals. Unwise from a vain girl. After some time the deals of this family were uncovered and they faced being sent away to borders, as a big beauty she was promised to barbarians and thought she could continue to live well, but her stream of youh needs continuous sacrifice of wealth, so she aged even more and was wasted in barbarian land.

Arc IV. E-sports arc. Mentioned above. Original Rong Huai lived with a boy who was also an orphan, he lived with them before RH's mother passed away, he did not take exam himself but sent the person to study, so all expenses came from this boy, who eventually was ungrateful. RH stopped all expences, did not apologize for his opinion against other player (child of destiny) and moved to a new club. He was called little princess which was cute. They went through tournaments and won. The boy he lived with had no money to survive and also his story was uncovered. The child of destiny made such a move against RH during championship and was found out, his reputation destroyed of course.

Arc V. Favorite young master from the rich family. Story of traveler who became a true young master. This is where author tried my most disliked trop of past relatives now lovers. A Yan landed as the father of the Lu family and RH became fake young master. Becase RH used his charm and other tactics against Lu dad, he eventually was airborn into the company and led the company to develop holographic games instead of VR which was considered a break-through in game industry. So he allowed the Shen family to buy a company and develop VR, accumulating debts they thought they'd pay. But when it came to holographic games VR was of course left behind and it was a huge hit to the business. Although in real life I think it would not be as devastating as decribed, like they faced instant bankruptcy, after all not every console was eliminated, they were just upgraded, like game consoles, computers, mobile games and portable consoles, they could have continued to sell. But it was presented as if everyone panicked, sold shares, severed relationships and the true young master was devastated. Actually because of his love for RH dad Lu did not care that his child was a fake, on the contrary he was happy and you know what happened later. These two really never care about anything. The only good thing as an excuse was that dad Lu never cared fro original RH, like they never lived together and dad Lu did not care about this child at all. But still...

Arc VI. Being hated by thousand people tells a story of a direct disciple in a world of decaying cultivation world. RH was born with spiritual body, but was not as popular as the boy with mixed roots arriving at the same time, who could sweet-mouth anyone, including their master. In origina line RH would agree to lend his roots, but was not treated well as promised. And this boy became a heartthrob. A Yan landed as the Demon King who will kill the world. But actually the indeed broke the boundaries between two rolds, yet they also united it, depriving all those famous sects of their cultivation. RH actually has incredible mental power which he concealed all the way. The heartthrob boy became a sacrifice on the roots of spiritual veins, after all he used the vein for his body to survive and if everyone acted according to his plan he would be the one gaining most. But many braindead characters again :)

Arc VII. Story about a tyrant Emperor. RH is now a tyrant Emperor, but it's mostly a hearsay, which was spread by the one person original RH trusted. They plotted against RH and the most famous general to usurp the power. RH instead became the one they so wanted him to portray, a true tyrant, which completely disrupted the plan, because RH did not act according to their plan. Eventually their deeds were uncovered and even if one of them was A Yan's adopted son, he did not spare him. A Yan landed as the general who hated the Emperor, but was eventually charmed. So even if everyone eventually knew their relationship they did not dare comment on it. Since every world RH leads any of his business to prosperity the same is true for countries under his rule, so the two led the country to prosperity. Also had the general Nie who comes from the main world and is connected to RH's past, they met here and later promised to meet in the main world.

Arc VIII. Again ABO world. Original RH was saved by an A, but also was treated as stand-in and also not like a human being. He was PUA'd a lot and was wasted for the White Moonlight in this A's heart. But RH went on a date and met A Yan who was now a general, they soon came together. The White Moonlight was discovered to present paintings made by RH as his own, which was also in the origina script, but because RH shared the video of him in cage online (harsh treatment of O is punishable by law), the law inforcement people came and took videos confirming them being in a normal relationship and to cover-up he said they had "hobbies". This A had his reputation stained. His White Moonlight was disgrased after the scandal with painting and disappeared. After RH moved out and was marked by A Yan they lived together. RH showed talent in healing mania instead of continuing painting. His ex-A suffered from wounds when the Emperor star was invaded by star beasts. Actually it was inner core of A Yan, so they concealed this fact. When they traveled for honeymoon they met with star pirates among them was White Moonlihgt, son of star pirates, but because A Yan's core was a King Star Beast he called those close to their ship and they basically crushed the pirates to pulp. This point where Star Beasts are actual celestial bodies, like others thought they are meteorites, but they are Star Beasts.

Arc IX. Actually last world before transition. Original RH was used as a spare and plotted by a woman who made him drunk and told she is pregnant, original RH took it upon himself to be responsible, but it allowed two other vampires from her family to come and suck his blood. His future would be bleak, after all he'd pay too much after working so much, but she would leave to be with her ex who made her pregnant. And RH's business would be ruined because of this ungrateful woman. RH stopped paying, made this woman Lin Shu take loans, since she spends all her money without thinking, did nto pay for damage when her brother hit a car, stopped paying for mother-in-law's excessive spending, he only paid for little expenses. A Yan became a leader of Yi family, uncle to the Yi boy who is child of destiny, the one who ruined original RH's business. Yi head hooked up with RH because the one could treat his mania. He was also surprised by RH's actions whose "wife" is about to give birth, but after paternity test everything became clear. He left her and her family riddled with debts.

He also showed his talent in business and was taken by Yi Chi to the company and became airborn vice president, the Yi boy refused and resigned so he was deprived of all privelage. Although he took Lin Shu in, but they had nowhere to go except his wife's property. His property and money were taken away. Also RH helped the original wife to receive the photo of the three and see who her husband truly is.

In many arcs RH showed his edge, although he always smiles and had a kind impression on others when people meet him in business they realize how sharp this person is. So this time is not an exception.

Transition world. Don't know why it was included, it had the mystery style. RH had to figure out the truth behind the mansion, which they did, but it collected together many hosts that could be called truly unscrupulous (maybe they were eventually the ones who became small gods), which maybe to show the influence of scripts by main system that allowed many worlds to be destroyed and plundered. Although RH also acts badly against children of destiny, but he never killed anyone for pleasure and he became the child of destiny himself and replaced other and allowed the world to continue.

Then he came to the main system, we have a flashback on his past, truth of his origins and then he found the reason behind Chao Yan's actions. But what was left is true feelings between the two when they returned to the main world and settled down. RH also changed the main system with 555 and asked him to release tasks to do good deeds.

RATE: 2,5/5. Because of some themes and the old-fashioned feel I can't bring myself to give it more, although I kinda enjoyed it since it's been a while. I can enjoy trashy stuff, but it doesn't change the fact that I consider them quite trashy :D

[Chinese BG novel] 姐姐对不起 by 云水迷踪 / Sister, I'm sorry

Summary: Shu Yun comes from a divorced family. Her mother did not have a high education due to circumstances, but she married Shu Peng who could be compared to a scholar, yet two parties found it hard to have the same outlook, topics to talk about and Shu Peng's company welcomed a newcomer Xu Meilan, an ambitious divorced woman with a daughter. She worked hard and Shu Peng eventually cheated on Shu Yun's mother. What followed was a divorce and reorganized family. Most of the time Shu Yun lived with her mother, but once a month she'd come to her father's place. Her father indeed climbed the career ladder, but he also did not see that his biological daughter did not have a good time and his now wife actually haunted his ex-wife like a paranoid beast. It was not enought to destroy her flower shop, but she also destroyed all her relationships.

Shu Yun was a smart kid since she was little, so she did what she could, she was lovable, but behind the facade was a girl who grew up scheming and she also wanted to disrupt that seeming peace and lovely family and make them fall apart.

Surprisingly, did not search with a purpose, but it's the same author as previous "Daughter's face is the most important", which I didn't like, I figured it out later. Personally, I didn't really like this novel either. I'd describe it so-so. And after knowing it's the same author I could say in both works FLs feel like bitches, very self-centered and it will take a while for them to come to a compromise, although they were the ones at fault in the first place.

Why do I think that? Mainly because Shu Yun openly uses ML at first, despite that the other party could potentially develop feelings for her. Even her attitude towards the opposite sex is disdainful due to her father's cheating incident, but she knows her own worth and she uses other people, ML included.

Her redeeming qualities are that she is quite motivated and smart and she made the right choice when it came to their education. It allowed them to grow and not drown in love during the period of professional growth, so in years they were separated she could at least become someone who could stand next to him without shame and not be just an empty pretty vase. Another good quality is that she's really good to close friends. Before I forget, she's one of few FLs who I think looked forward to having kids, like she wasn't against getting pregnant, especially knowing it's a good period for pregnancy and easier recovery etc. Most of the time it feels like kids just come along an MLs feel like it's time to cut off their balls after witnessing, so their wife won't suffer again. I agree that pregnancy is a big deal and it's dangerous, but I always have a feeling that in novels there is too much emphasis on danger and not feelings of wonder, expectation etc.

As for other characters. Well, they're quite cliche, especially re-organized family with father and new wife. Her dad is simply straight male who can't see the undercurrents of his family, although how it could be possible I don't get it. The new wife is a very cliche madman and even beyond that, because she haunted the ex-wife so much, trashed her flower shop, discredited her, ruined her relationship etc. The daughter she brought in, Song Yu, is like her mther, pretty vicious, was framing and discrediting Shu Yun since they were little. It is a blessing that Shu Yun was a smart kid since she was little and could deal with this sister. Shu Yun's mother is actually a doormat through and through, which I couldn't understand, but whatever. Only thanks to Shu Yun she could grow and be independent and not be ashamed that she did not get a high education.

As for ML. Well, I could cry tears for him. He fell in love with Shu Yun pretty early, although beats me why. Who knows maybe because she wasn't so dogleg about him. He could see through her and maybe because she was the most comfortable with him they could get together eventually. Of course there was a period when she couldn't accept him, but maybe the subconscious comfort he gave her allowed her initial impression to change and accept him. Though I could say she's not on par with mister perfection. ML is not only handsome, but smart, comes from a good background, never oversteps, gentlemenly etc. Comparing to her jumping around with her green tea he's like a dream. But this perfection stepped down when it came to chasing her. But since they were in university now she pretty much was right when she told him to go to US as exchange student to improve himself. So like in many dramas they separated for several years. Although they kept in touch and he also traveled back several times. This relationship felt like it thinned down, but feelings were still strong and since their relationship changed Shu Yun also changed a bit. They were more mature, more ready. Previously she could openly flirt with Yan Nan, but now she did not know what to do and felt so awkward because she cared about him. Of course it didn't last long and they could finally fall in love.

As per usual there were few scenes of supposed to be opposition to their relationship, but it didn't last long, Shu Yun charmed people around her quickly and the breakthrough was through Yan Nan's mom, the rest was easier.

As for "revenge". It wasn't much in the end, just showing her father that your dear wife you cheated with back then is nothing more but a vicious monster who chases down your ex-wife like she's not right in the head. Shu Yun also earned some of her father's properties, because out of three kids she was the most outstanding and seemingly helped him in his career (not really). Because Xu Meilan was such a shrew deep inside the marriage fell apart. But honestly the situation, the portrayal and the development felt inorganic somehow. Anyway I had a weird feeling after reading it. Maybe someone will like it this way, I did not.

Not a long review, but the novel itself is short (I didn't bother to read extras). A bit of university life, a bit of relationship.

[Chinese BL novel] 前任破产后我绝症痊愈了 by 樱满庭 / I recovered from illness when my ex went bankrupt

Summary: Lin Lu worked hard in his previous life, he was the king in the shopping malls and brought down many of his opponents, he believed that he had a good partner and a good family, but the one thing that defeated him was illness. It also showed the true faces of his partner and his father. His partner who reached unimaginable heights actually got engaged soon after with a person who looked like him and his father took back illegitimate child and unlike Lin Lu who paved the way for himself he saw his father treating his illegitimate child like a treasure. Lin Lu admitted that he might have never noticed some things because he was too conceited and it backfired.

But then he was reborn and it was the time he had health issues aggravating, he truly did not know why he was reborn. What he did not know was that Sheng Wei from the Sheng family he brought down in his previous life was reborn too. Now he reached agreement with his father that Lin Lu will live at the Sheng family and Sheng Wei was working hard on bringing everyone he cared for, Lin Lu's partner Bai Jiyan and Lin Lu's father Lin Haitian down, but he had no idea that his revenge was against people Lin Lu now deeply hated. So even if he showed shocked and sad face deep inside Lin Lu wanted to laugh out loud. 

I greatly liked this novel. Even if I found it a bit draggy for my taste, but I still read it in one go, spent several days consuming the content and was quite satisfied. Probably because I liked the portrayal, it was simple, but it was delievered. Explanation to some details that I liked in the spoilers section.

Note: The disease that Lin Lu has is completely fictional and does not exist, it exists solely for the plot, but Lin Lu in general has weak constitution and immune system, so he is more often prone to colds, fevers, low blood pressure, blod sugar etc. This is where his symptoms come from in the novel.

I truly liked the settings and how it evolved. Because both protags were more like enemies. To be precise it was Sheng Wei who treated Lin Lu like one. Sheng Wei's family was bankrupt in previous life, but it was not all, he died in an accident, which he remembered was caused by faulty breaks, which means it was man-made. many of the things that happaned to him were put on Lin Lu's head. Only being close to Lin Lu for a long time he began to realize that the prejudice he had and the person in front of him gave him two different feelings.

Lin Lu indeed used many tricks to get what he wanted, but as we find out that he was not without a bottom line, the one who truly hated Sheng Wei till his teeth broke was actually Bai Jiyan, Lin Lu's partner. Many of the most sinister moves against the Sheng were not directed by Lin Lu.

Even Lin Lu's "scandals" are nothing more but smoke, since he can have a loud mouth, which makes it feel that Lin Lu doesn't feel shame, but it's comepletely different, he was never unreserved.

Understanding this truth brought Sheng Wei a lot of headache, because from one side he understood that he wasn't against Lin Lu as much as before, but from another point the hatred from the past life was weighing down on him.

On Lin Lu's side for his Sheng Wei's move was the best at that moment, he had to sign agreement where he is obliged not to help Lin family and the company founded with Bai Jiyan - Shuangmu. It was the best excuse for him to distance himself from people he hated and who betrayed him. It wasn't about love, he just hated them for betraying his trust, so we have a glimpse of what Lin Lu seeks in friendship and relationships.

For the first part of the story Lin Lu indeed acts like a glass doll, but eventually it's revealed that it's not only the physical condition but also psychological. Lin Lu was living with the thought of dying, he knows that eventually he will die and that is why he has such pessimistic outlook on everything. This is why he never understood why he was reborn. Even when Sheng Wei did not shy away of showing his hostility he believed that maybe he indeed did many bad things and deserved what is happening to him again. What both did not know, ironically, is that Sheng Wei might not know Lin Lu was terminally ill in his previous life and was betrayed and Lin Lu had no idea how Sheng Wei's life ended. Feeling guilty Lin Lu went along with Sheng Wei. But one should not think that Sheng Wei acted out of boundries, absolutely not. What he did was nothing more but counter-attack some underhanded moves from Bai Jiyan. It was his right to get rid of people who snooped in the company and revealed information to Bai Jiyan. Like he prevented several dirty moves that were used against him in his previous life. What Sheng Wei did was truly great as from the business perspective, but Bai Jiyan made moves that were truly dirty only because he bore hatred and his motivation was mostly personal.

Only later when Shuangmu was brought down and the Lin family went through several turmoils Sheng Wei's revenge seemed to be complete, but from another side he realized his feelings for Lin Lu changed and how could he earn the person, whose closest people he destroyed, back. And Lin Lu who also realized that after such a long time he had feelings for Sheng Wei, but he had no idea what to do, after all Sheng Wei had some hatered for him previously and also, how can he entangle with the person if he knows he will be gone soon. Sheng Wei did so much in the shopping malls, but actually was the most attentive when it came to his body condition.

Main characters.

Lin Lu. I must admit that his character is quite vivid and he doesn't come as completely bad or a good person, he is a combination of many things. He also has a strong will I'd say, because it takes some strength to still act with people you truly dislike from previous life and he does not lash out. When he is kind he is kind to others, but when he is bad, he is actually pretty low-key about it, you will realize it while reading. You can figure out his temperament through many situations that happened, so his porrayal to me is quite vivid. I also like the fact that he is not one-sided, like an eternal kind person or entirely enraged person who was betrayed. When it comes to interpersonal relationships you could use the term of green tea, but it's not entirely the case, he is more than that, he's Premium class. It needs an explanation. Lin Lu knows he is handsome and avokes affinity in other people when they talk, he is very attentive and friendly, he never puts on airs even he is an heir to a huge company who talks with a common office worker. Throughout the novel you can see that he can easily make others open up, but it's not veiled with evil intentions and he is not fully hypocritical, he just knows how to communicate and feels like a fish in water when he does so. Also he does admit that he does/did many things to his own advances, but it doesn't mean that he only takes and doesn't give anything back. Like his best friend noted "it's hard not to like Lin Lu, even those who might dislike him at first might end up liking him in the end, if they spend more time together". For example, there was a situation where this friend had a temporary star girlfriend and she asked for a dress which was hard to rent and Lin Lu was the one who connected with the designer, since he had those connections. Also there is an observation from Sheng Wei who witnessed how Lin Lu remembered people's names clearly, knew their position, knew their family members, remembered everyone's health problems, what they did etc. He held a huge amount of information inside of his head. You know there is a saying about being liked by children, animals and elderly people, well Lin Lu is that type of person. But when it comes to green tea premium I'll give you an example as well, because Lin Lu was reborn he knew Bai Jiyan had a lover on the side and this lover looked a bit like him, especially with make-up on, he knows the name and many things about the two. Lin Lu did not proactively seek revenge on this person, at first he had no idea if this stand-in named Qiao Hanghang had an idea about Lin Lu's existence, but after a chance encounter he knew that Hanghang was mcuh aware that he was a mistress, one who wants to become the main palace. His actions were just a reaction to Hanhang's "provocation". The situation was as follows, Lin Lu spent some time in an orchard mannor and neighboring place was occupied by a variety show, Qiao Hanghang with the help of Bai Jiyan built an image of a noble and rich person but down to earth, this program connected to the main house and Lin lu took part in the game, about jewelry, but guests had no ready answers, so they had no idea. Hanghang who knows nothing about jewelry of course lost. After this episode aired his reputation plummetted and overturned. Some still supported him. To be "kind" Lin Lu phones Bai Jiyan and started talking about Hanghang, but only on the verge when Bai Jiyan thought Lin Lu discovered his relationship with Hanghang, Lin Lu eased his conscience when talked that he wanted Hanghang to endorse Shuangmu as a compensation to online contraversy. He did not care, but sounded like a good person, but I thought this move was so poisonous, because Lin Lu was also aware that Sheng Wei acted very roughly during that time and sent several blows to Shuangmu and he might follow along and expose Hanghang online to give Shuangmu another blow. Hanghang was ecstatic, he wanted to be famous and not only spend time drinking with bosses, but at this point the black material about him not only visiting some drinking parties with bosses were revealed online, it was also mentioned that he took part in avoiding taxes, so his career ended there. Bai Jiyan no matter how reluctant chose the company and did not protect Hanghang. Simple situation but shows who is who. This is why I say it's low-key but poisonous. At other times Lin Lu actually does great moves of kindness, like he saved a girl in the hospital or he also saved Tongtong who is Sheng Wei's niece, he never thought about benefits when he did that.

Sheng Wei. Unlike Lin Lu he is more straightforward, domineering and doesn't give many people face. He does what he wants. But he's not like an open book that will allow you to read everything. He made many plans and preparations and his past life not only gave him experience to avoid traps of past life, but he gained experience to look further. Maybe because they are on the opposite of the spectrum this is why they connected so well with Lin Lu. Sheng Wei was always a healthy and strong personality and only together with Lin Lu he learnt to be more careful, even if he grumpily commented like someone is so squemish, after all Lin Lu looked like he will be blown away by the wind. He is quite a resolute person. But what I liked is that he is not portrayed as someone smarter than Lin Lu, on the contrary at some point he admitted that he might have deserved to be defeated by Lin Lu. He always considered Lin Lu a cunning fox and everyone else is a coop of chickens ahahaa. At first he was pretty resolute with his feelings about Lin Lu, but later when things started to reveal he realized that Lin Lu might not be as he remembered him. To be honest if it wasn't his past life he might as well also fall under Lin Lu's spell, but he kept on going for a long time. Together they were actually each others' first love.

Secondary characters.

There are many and they are interconnected, so the story feels quite full.

Because the first part of the story has a lot of just homely content, since Lin Lu always got sick and such, he spent a lot of time at Sheng Wei's house with Aunt Xu a cook and the housekeeper. Because Lin Lu look frail and sickly he always makes people look after him, so everyone at the house had affection for him. But you can see that Lin Lu cared for them too, like gave Aunt Xu confidence to finish nutritionist courses, helped her son, always brought back things from other places.

Another circle is the firend circle. Eventually we know that Lin Lu keeps in touch only with two closest people, one is his assitant Jiang Xuewen who was meticulous in his job and also cared for Lin Lu and as we know did not talk to Lin Lu as boss and subordinate (other assistants who sold themselves in last life he fired after his rebirth), another person is his friend Lou Yang, coming also from a prominent background of biggest entertainment company.

Sheng Wei's circle is wider, but mainly two people are mentioned, Yu Yao who is a very friendly and loud personality and Shen Xiuwei, whose lover is connected to Lin Lu's past and what will happen in the end. His circle is more open-minded and does not act like a bunch of people acting to seek benefits.

As for family member, maybe they should have been mentioned first, but they leave such a bad taste and that is why they don't deserve it. Lin Haitian is Lin Lu's father, he married his mother Ou Yunyun, but she had a genetic disease and had lived in a nursing home after a breakdown, so we don't hear about her often before she finally passes away. Lin Haitian is mainly face-loving person seeiking benefits, so he doesn't mind sending Lin Lu away. If it was his bloved son Lin Xuanche the story will be different. He was always surrounded by his secretary Aunt Xuan. As Lin Lu admitted he did not take her seriously, because he was too conceited and never actually delved into their relationship, thus he failed to find out the truth and that Lin Haitian had an illegitimate son older than him and his mother was this Aunt Xuan. About them in spoilers. 

Uncle Sheng, Sheng Wei's father was actually a good old man, even if he often fought with Sheng Wei, but he cared about him. His wife died when Sheng Wei was young, so he was hit too hard and work and everything else lost meaning for him, thus he delegated his power to Sheng Wei when he was old enough. He spent a long time in mourning, but eventually failed to see his son growing up and regretted about it. Lin Lu was actually quite a connection between them. Since many elderly like Lin Lu, Uncle Sheng did not stay untouched. Sheng Qian is Sheng Wei's aunt, her daughter Tongtong and her appear in the story too.

Bai Jiyan chased after Lin Lu for years and maybe this is what earned him place close to Lin Lu, yet Lin Lu didn't completely love him, so his feelng of hatred had nothing to do with love, just betrayal of trust. The co-founded company was mostly built thanks to Lin Lu's connections. After Lin Lu resigned and lived at Sheng's the story showed that without Lin Lu many things crumbled down and it showed the difference between the two. Bai Jiyan is the basic vain person who despises others who are lower than him, but enjoys the feeling of being sought after. This is also the biggest difference between the two, since Lin Lu is an actual heir and a wealthy person without this company, but he never treats people badly. Bai Jiyan's feelins are quite cheap and in the end when his affair was revealed he tried to wriggle out of it. Everyone else is at fault but not me, the basic idea behind it. They are actually quite a match between him and Qiao Hanghang. After all Hanghang entered the company and served the bosses, later he was found by Bai Jiyan and felt he was cared for and was greedy for success and love. Nothing bad about it, but he also knew he was a mistress. In previous life his gifts and businesses were opened in the name of Lin Lu, he took things without much guilt.

Relationship.

I thought it was quite good. Although by the end it was a bit of a bundle when they realized their feelings and faced a predicament, but in general it was quite okay. Their start is the worst though, not entirely enemies, but it's not a good beginning. Although Sheng Wei is so sharp, but he actually cared and never left Lin Lu when it came to his health. Lin Lu on the other side for the first time felt what it is like to be in love even if their beginning wasn't the best.

Their feelings grew slowly. With conenction and understanding of each other. Also comparison existed too.

At first they simply co-existed in the same house, Sheng Wei still bore anger, while Lin Lu could tease from time to time.

Later Sheng Wei's opinion changed, but another question popped up, how will he confess when he caused Lin Lu's ex to go bankrupt and Lin family to suffer.

Lin Lu realized the hostility from Sheng Wei and he was ready to be the sacrifice, but also he had no idea what to do because he believed his life will end and he loved Sheng Wei.

So they kind of danced around each other by the end and probed when they wanted to fight for love.

It might not be a perfect story, I admit it. The beginning felt more draggy because it had a lot of daily interactions and a lot of ill Lin Lu. Sometimes something exciting happened, but it involved Sheng Wei's fight with Shuangmu and other things.

Sheng Wei brought his company further and survived several time nodes that existed in his previous life, but he turned tables around and it was Shuangmu who suffered defeat. Some are, the accident with an Expo center (where Bai Jiyan bribed a director not to allow Sheng company hold a presentation), robot competition (where Bai Jiyan wanted to steal data of Sheng team), shortening of the existing company (when Bai Jiyan thought he acquired new company along with Sheng's technology) and many other instances. You could see that Bai Jiyan always plays dirty. But eventually was defeated because Sheng Wei was ready for all traps.

What surprised me more was actually what happened in the Lin family actually.

Even if Lin Lu's mother was alive (but she lived in the nursing home), Lin Haitian brought his illegitimate son back, but to make people believe that he was first-born, he forged documents to make everyone believe that he was born to Ou Yunyun, but lived abroad all this time. This Lin Xuanche isn't really an opponent to Lin Lu because Lin Lu did not react as he thought he would. This is what is terrifying about Lin Lu, even if he knew about Lin Xuanche, but he went along with the story, he made people believe in this forged story of a first-born kid living abroad. I think this shows his inner confidence and not taking this guy into consideration at all. Although being conceited burned him in his past life, now he didn't care. Maybe it is also a confidence. It proved to be true. Even if Lin Xuanche was dragged around and Lin Hiatian paved the way for him unlike Lin Lu, he also wiped his butt because they faced several incidents. Lin Xuanche is not sought after as he expected, but because he did not grow up with these people he was actually blinded by the glitz. He allowed others to cater him when Lin Lu showed his positive attitude, but eventually he was not worth much, he also did the same thing as Bai Jiyan, they liked to be sought after, but they still look down on others. Though he himself is pretty aware that he is just an illegitimate son. His love from Lin Haitian was earned because he catered to what Lin Haitian liked in kids. To him Aunt Xuan was his first love and Ou Yunyun was a business marriage.

But glitz managed to blind the person. I somehow felt vivid about the portrayal, it was something more than just a description or an afterthought. First incident was about antiques, he spent all his savings to invest into antiques, but they were fakes, this is a set up y Lin Lu, pretty shabby, but it worked on Xuanche.

The big project promised by Sheng in previous life encountered natural disaster, thus it was a burden, he gave it to Lin Haitian (he also had doubts if Lin Lu gave it with ulterior motives). Because it was a disaster, Lin Haitian couldn't blame Sheng Wei. Another incident involved a house, which also suffered from landslide. All these incidents were broadcasted on the news, so Xuanche became quite famous. Another big pie as they thought involved Haitian's brother who passed away, his business was big but shady, in the end they encountered another Waterloo.

Failure after failure.

Lin Lu didn't even do much, but it doesn't mean he wasn't happy.

And the biggest reveal is in the end, because otherwise how you explain Lin Lu's health. Actually, there was a conspiracy and he realized that his health in past life deteriorated not without man-made causes.

He was diagnosed in the same place where his mother lived, because he knew Dr. Lu he trusted him, who knew he was connected to Aunt Xuan and forged his diagnosis. His medicine was changed to something that would cause him ealth damage if he took them on a regular basis. Lin Lu was actually healthy, it was only because the realization that he was about to die weighed down on him and he was depressed all the time, which allowed his condition to worsen. He is frail in nature, but he would be okay with positive outlook and taking care of himself. After figuring things out he sent all those involved, including Aunt Xuan, to jail. He even checked Xuanche and it happened that he was not the son of Haitian at all, but of his brother. As it happened Aunt Xuan dated his brother before him. Such unremarkable woman managed to lay low and waiting for success, but what she got was not wealth and prosperity, but bars.

Lin Haitian found out about it, but he did not actually change his ways. He did not even apologize to his son and thought he could rule with authority, but Lin Lu wasn't a soft persimmon and made Haitian to abdicate and retire. After all they did not share much love. Haitian spent his love on other people's children, lost all his face. But the only thing they did was not disclose illegitimate status of Xuanche.

And the ending. Which is connected to Shen Xiuwei's partner. This boy was from the same uni as Lin Lu, they met during a competition, but this boy asked Lin Lu to abdicate, because the boy was riddled with debts and he needed to win this competition, Lin Lu refused fo course, so the boy was offended by it and later dropped out. The final incident with fire involved Sheng Wei's dad. As it happened his dad had a copmay co-founded by three people, because they had different views they decided to divide. Sheng became prosperous, the other person Bai (Bai Jiyan's family, thus the hate) also started a company, but the third person cashed out. Later came back for more money. But this person's son also thought his father was cheated (which was not). Later he met this boy, they shared the same feeling of being chased by debtors etc. So when he approached Shen Xiuwei it wasn't for big feelings, but knowing Shen Xiuwei was brothers with Sheng Wei he leaked some information and such. The location of ski resort where they will stay was leaked by him. Thus the arson, thus Lin Lu jumped out of the window and also saved Tongtong. So you can see it as an example of people who blame others, if they don't move and they think were at fault.

Although not perfect, after all this novel has its' own misses, I still greatly enjoyed it. Maybe it's all about portrayal, that the main character was so dimensional. Some points that were interesting.

The medical part was certainly quite a miss, it was a bit of a bundle. But the reveal was quite okay.

The beginning and the interaction felt like not progressing, but then the dynamics were better. But to some it might feel draggy. I make it easy for myself, if some parts can be read dioganally, I did so.
