Yan Ji is a thousand year old fox who failed the tribulation and was bound to a system 052, who asked her to travel worlds, which eventually will help heal her wounds and go back to her original world as she wishes.
Every world has a Daughter of Destiny, but for some reason these worlds were tempered with, one way or another, and the prosperous good daughters were cheated and led a miserable life. Yan Ji's task is to fix the tempered fates of original hosts.
The good thing that author did is to give more or less reasonable start and explanation to Yan Ji's skills. For example, since she's a cultivatr, although a demon, then her mind is more flexible and accepts new information better. But the starting point of her traveling is still ancient world, which helped her use her skills.
Also, since Yan Ji is a fox, she is indeed a seductress, not intentionally. Yet one indeed should treat her like a scumbag, since she plays with emotions and not always stays in the world (yup, she leaves when things are done and the rest of the life is up to original owner, but I find it as a loophole, since how about two ppl who are different, after all our Yan Ji is way different from original hosts).
I'll put shortened versions of these plots, since I'e read three QT novels from this author, some elements repeat, so I was to leave it to distinguish which is which.
Arc 1: Yan Ji travels to ancient world. Original owner was a beloved youngest daughter, she was intelligent and mostly stayed at home. Her original partner was a scholar who later became a magistrate, which led both of their lives to prosperity. So she was supposed to be loved for all her life. In tempered plot the sister-in-law was a reborn person, who couldn't stand working, while Yan Ji was doing nothing. Basic envious bish. So Yan Ji used her skills to make balms and other ointments to earn money, she was filial to the mother who was protecting her everywhere and in the end even managed to attract the original partner (the scholar).
Arc 2: Because of a traverser, a cultivator who practices through s* with men, the original owner was robbed of her partner, was splashed with dirty water and in the end had her acting career ruined, as well as her life. The traverser never capsized and managed to have many suitors. Thus Yan Ji showed up as if she wasn't bothered by the break-up. Later cleaned her reputation, managed to attract several suitors that the traverser was aiming for and revealed the true face of this woman. Who did not realize that reputation in this world is a big deal and unscrupulous behavior will lead you to capsize on multiple boats. Yan Ji left this world to original owner to live with her chosen partner in the end.
Arc 3: This one had a pair of brain-dead men. Original owner had a fiance. She also had a friend who she helped because of her difficult situation. But this friend never appreciated the help, got mixed with her fiance and a friend, both followed her innocent image and felt YJ was too much everywhere. YJ changed to a boss instead of waiting for her fiance to take over and ruin everything. She studied business to become a business queen. Two guys tried to plot against her to "teach" her, but failed to do so in the end. YJ changed industries before that, brought the declinng company to new heights, hollowed out the main company and let the two idiots buy a shell company. This "friend" ended up badly, since she wanted a good life for nothing and could only being taken care of. YJ married a business giant and a patriarch of the Qi family in this world. She stayed in this world (basically, because their feelings were more profound with Qi Lian).
Arc 4: This one had an interesting point to it. Original owner was a pampered lady who followed her partner as an educated youth, she should have been with her sweetheart, but there was a travelling person from the future, who attracted her partner away. She was plotted against and her life was ruined. But the thing is, the one who mainly plotted was her sweetheart, he wanted the new girl, but also his reputation untouched. Yan Ji changed her image, worked hard, knew about college entrance examination and thus managed to pull sevral other people to a better future along with her. She also was on good terms with the travelling person, because she was upright type and was disgusted by the plan of this man to ruin the girl he previously dated. Yan Ji, the girl and another girl who befriended Yan Ji stayed friends for years. Yan Ji became a doctor and other two started a clothing business. Original partner wanted to interfere in the relationship but was spotted by Yan Ji and in her plot had his chsrysanthemum destroyed, yup. Basically she had a good time. Uncertain if she left early, but it seemed so.
Arc 5: This one has Yan Ji who was basically plotted against when she was the most innocent one. She was a famous good lady, was supposed to have a good life as a crown princess, but ended up badly and being plotted against by her biological sister Yan Si and the other one was a daughter of a concubine in their family Yan Qianqian. The YQQ was from the future and attracted people by her novel thinking. YS later was reborn with resentment. But Yan Ji couldn't understad while YS was hostile, why YQQ didn't help, they had no beef. Yan Ji changed her tactic, since she has no promise with the prince so far she acted as a background person, while getting acquainted with a regent (emperor's brother). While YQQ appeared here and there where she shouldn't be according to etiquette, but YQQ felt these are feudal dross, forgetting this could have terrible consequences for the whole family. YS was targetting Yan Ji and YQQ, she poured medicine, wanted to ruin YJ's beauty and had tricks here and there, basically stealing what YJ did in previous life. YQQ despised ancients, but also used poems to highlight herself. YJ did things subtly. She used medicine to ruin YS's face, which she cared about the most, revealed her plotting and made father and mother send her away and not care about her future. YQQ's reputation was ruined after revealing her plagiarising poets and also due to accident she was attracted to another man, became his wife and was cheated of her feelings, so no crown princess fate here. YJ married the regent and had a happy life.
Arc 6: This felt short. But actually left me with a weird taste, since original owner was small and cute. YJ used it to her advantage and dressed like a school girl, I mean checkered skirt and high socks, that type. Original owner didn't want to be a good girl (original owner dated a scumbag who eventually ruined her reputation). YJ mixed with a dude who completely fell for her, they were very high profile, so the rumors of her dating someone else were defeated, she managed to bring her partner on a better path. Basically a perfect and pampered life. She lived entire life here with her partner.
Arc 7: This one is also quite short. Original owner has a talent as a heavenly master, it's a modern story. Her sister was occupied by another soul and was plotted against. But since YJ's taoism is so profound those things are futile now. I basically skipped this when I re-read it.
Arc 8: Doomsday. Original owner had healing and wood type abilities, she helped a lot of people along the way and who joined her base as a result. In the tempered plot there was a reborn person who advanced her skills and found original owner's partner first. Original owner was plotted against here and there and all glory became that of the reborn person. Here YJ didn't car to save ppl, she saved few and traveled with them around, staying a small team. Because here is a supernatural world YJ had a chance to be more powerful. She also saved a man who was supposed to be a flower who awakened consciousness and cultivated into a human. True or not. Basically YJ when she saw the base she traveled far later to establish her own stronghold, it took time, but it was one of the best bases in the end. Original partner was actually the type who joined those who had potential, thus he was with original owner and disregarded the reborn woman. Seeing the strength of a newly built base he joined it himself. But the love line was broken anyway and Yan Ji did not like his type, instead was with her flower Shen Qian. They built the base and gave ppl future. She lived in this world her entire life, their two names were known by everyone.
Arc 9: Interstellar era. The plot was tempered by a person who traveled into this world as a book, she was envious of YJ glory and destroyed her mental powers and absorbed them. YJ instead used her dantian to have the spiritual powers. She became a legend by being most mallable person. Original owner was an orphan of martyrs, no metal powers twist destroyed her dream. YJ was demoted from inner academy and instead concentrated on getting better as outer academy student. The treverser was solved when she got infected with worms during the outing and later was isolated, thus leading her miserable life and witnessing YJ's glory.
Arc 10: Horror/thriller element story. Original owner died in unknown resort. This place was full of horror, but actually it's a place where many rich and in power sent people whose lives they bought, so these people were tricked to those remote places and killed. YJ due to her skills survived and let the wronged souls avenge themselves, resulting in this secret organization being uncovered.
Arc 11: Original owner was a common person, she studied and had a boyfriend. The plot was temered with and a supporting female changed cores, had a child with ML and had him as her backing. This bf in name did not explain clearly to original YJ and instead aimed at her here and there, though she wasn't at fault. Since he was so bad she decided to avenge herself. This world had no games as the world where female supporter came from, she wanted to become big. YJ traveled worlds and her experience was richer, she stole the chance of cooperation and developed several games, while she also sent virus to those games developed by her ex. The ex did many things and in the end was bankrupted and also caught for attempted kidnapping. His lover spent a lot of time with her kid's teacher instead. This allowed the man to send his mother and son abroad, while his lover came to her senses, mother-in-law and her child were gone. But as usual, she's too comfortable to live easy life with her lover's money and now things are gone and ppl are gone. She was too ordinary and couldn't work and later was hooking up with men. The ex left the country after failing to return in business. YJ lived in this world her entire life and was together with President Gu, their original cooperation partner.
Arc 12: YJ is a cat demon in this one. In tempered plot they were plotted against by ML's cousine. But this cousine didn't know the real reason why ML bankrupted and chased their entire family. Cute story where YJ protected the original male partner, they uncovered some dirty secrets of their family, which allowed his cousine to realise the truth behind revenge. YJ also resister the Monster Bureau, which wanted to punish her for intervining into human world, which led to changes in MB rules. Both lived a happy life afterwards.
Arc 13: Modern world with cultivation element, but main place takes inside the holographic game. Original owner took blame for her good sister/friend inside the game and her cultivation was abolished by a vengeful person. Instead she used the game to uncover the real face of this sister and she was avenged.
Arc 14: Imperial concubine. Original plot should be sweet and loving, but in tempered plot the concubines daughter binded a system, she became more charming and beautiful and changed the fate of original owner, sending her away and killing her child. The emperor never bother and was too into his love. The thing is YJ was new, but the emperor also had a twist, he saw dreams in which he saw all these events and found them weird, how could he wrong everyone and let the concubine act so unscrupulously. YJ was already pregnant by this time and no matter how she tried she couldn't intervene and make this concubine not come. She basically let the things take their course, since she was the most noble. Also took note of concubine and the emperor. Concubine in the end thought of rebelling, since this emperor was impossible to conquer. When her system disappeared everyone in the family woke up, YJ asked them to proceed, since the emperor started losing trust in YJ too, though she didn't do anything. YJ took the throne with her child and ruled the country to prosperity, abdicated in time when her son was capable and lived a good life. Emperor died in rebellion, concubine was imprisoned in deep palace.
Arc 15: Modern world. Original owner had a very good boyfriend, but in tempered plot the meddling of childhood sweetheart changed their love fate. Actually this boyfriend was really loyal and YJ felt it. They studied together, didn't take to heart that this girl jumped around. After they were separated for few years, since he went abroad and she stayed, their communication wasn't as strong. But whe he got back and started his own company to be able to be with a girl he loved he said that they never broke up and they're still together. YJ also changed lives of her family who were poor. Childhood sweetheart never got what she wanted, YJ was easily accepted by the family of her boyfriend and basically it was an easy-peasy world, the main thing was to trust the man.
Arc 16: True daughter story. In tempered plot the time of recognizing her family was different and also adopted daughter played the card of leaving, yet missing. Original owner was a bit immature and was dazed, no real life tempered her character, she entered entertainment, worst choice for noble families and instead was trapped with a beauty trick and was cheated badly and ended badly. YJ changed her strategy, no acting, I'll be the boss of entertainment company. She got start-up capital and grew her company, while she also pointed out at the adoptive daughter flaws. Adoptive daughter was a traverser like herself, but she was too confident in herself and previous success, which allowed YJ to trip her and she failed to achieve her mission. 052 hacked her system when she tried to leave, so she stayed in this world with all the scandals and shame as ordinary person. YJ became bigger and bigger and her parents were proud of her achievements. She had a child, but no man in this life.
Arc 17: 80's. In tempered plot the mother of original owner heard things from a fortune teller and made original owner work like a cow for entire family since she was a child, this made other children more crooked towards their sibling relationship, as if original owner owned everyone this type of dedication. YJ earned her small capital and managed to grow while cooking, opened a restaurant and a clothes shop. The mother thought these businesses should be owned by her eldest, but of course YJ was against their wishful thinking. In the end she was the only one supporting the mother and the other one calmed down for the sake of getting pension.
Arc 18: Cultivation world. In tempered plot original owner met a girl who managed to invite her on a task to a place she "discovered" where original owner died. The mission is to find out the truth. Tbh I skipped it when I re-read it.
Arc 19: Modern world. Original owner is a pampered girl from a wealthy family. She played online and met a man she fell for, but because of involvement of this man's good friend she became a mistress in the mouths of others, so she never had a good relationship because of these trust issues. YJ never came close to this man when the game started. Although there were some revelations, but YJ had all the things to prove herself.
Arc 20: Original owner went through experiments in a hidden laboratory, this world is also an apocalypse in which her mission is to surviv and protect her father. Because of experiments she had an ability to attract bugs like Gu master, but she was also powerful. Skipped through (after all, I was re-reading).
Arc 21: The last one was weird. It was about several men who woke up like from a dream and realized that their behavior towards one girl is too abnormal, so they played her instead. She is the original owner. YJ for some reason entered the Infinity game with all of these men one by one in which they changed their opinion of her, but it was futile, since she wasn't attracted to them. Infinity game was introduced by a heavenly weapon that landed in this world.
After finishing Yan Ji returned healed of her wound and stepped on the ladder to ascention. Se leaves all lives and all loves and ascends.
Because I read other two novels in same genre from this author I honestly can say that sometimes I feel inbalanced about them. The character at times feels like a ho and wants a man, at other time the story is more profound and is more on her being self-reliant and not bothered. Since it has no CP she is not bothered about previous men she had, thinking that they had their time, she gave all she could give and there is nothing to be sorry about. But this is enough for leisure reading in this genre. I honestly can't say that it's very exciting, it was normal to me. So. RATE: 3/5.
