[SHORT REVIEWS] #5 or first dive into Qidian hell

I have a feeling that I went into a new realm, because things I randomly found on online-reading I have no idea if it's an original source. Or funnily I actually found it on original source, but haven't realized it. The site is called 'qidian'. I've watched several novels which left me with impression that I'm watching a site of fan fiction.

Anyway.

团宠五岁半:皇太女在综艺炸翻了

(mtl: The group favorite is five years old: crown princess becomes popular in a variety show)

(BG) An adult in the body of a 5 year old that transmigrated. Her name is Ning Zhizhi, original was dumped by a reborn adult girl, was lost and picked up to be a child bride for a fool in a village family, she had no name for 5 years, she found that a TV show came to them to shoot where she found her biological brother and a girl who replaced her. System asked her to act nicely and be found by her family, also earn goodwill points, because she is all "evil". Tbh I find the settings and writing of this one the most annoying. Before that I must say that I hate the systems that forbids you to be yourself and do the tasks that you don't want to the most annoying. I don't understand why this is a thing, are people secret masochists or they're on the contrary, perverts that like to read about person who can't help themselves and follow along the system rules to survive. This is not the first and won't be the last novel with such settings, I get it, but it still annoys me, especially when the logic just kicked the bucket.

Ning Zhizhi came from the ancient times, she was picked by a system as a "villain". And she's basically entering a reforming period. Though Ihave a question, why is SHE the villain? She's brought up in ancient times, in a palace, where struggle for power is real, this is an absolutely different environment, social and emotional, compared to our times. It's absolutely impossible to ask for a person from a different time and situation to act differently. The system basically asks - you should act like a little white flower, like a little angel. But ACTING and BEING one are two different things. In the end Zhizhi basically acts like a little white flower, but never feels like one (I've read 80 chapters of this existing shit, I know what I'm talking about). So this reforming has and bears no sense, if the recipient doesn't feel that way themselves.

The other annoying part - why systems ask to act a certain way? Especially when it concerns people that haven't done anything bad. I especially dislike it in novels where people may die tragically in the original world, they come here and get the head start as a cannon fodder, usually all black with ruined reputation... EXCUSE ME, can your settings be less dumb? because ALL the time, simply ALL the time, the way protags solve these issues are not well put together. Not to mention the black material are not even that serious with no evidence usually. It simply portrays people as dumb and believing lambs, I feel sorry for them is they are. Zhizhi might not be the best person, but who told her to be brought up the way she was and now she has to be this sweet little girl, kind to others, while her legitimate desire was to punch the villanous reborn bitch that took her place as a Ning daughter as a metter of defense. I'm not against violence, sometimes it works better, more importantly, this fake kindness may help Zhizhi to collect points to get back, but it's still fake and at times she really has the image of a Holy Mother.

The other dumb thing was about the show itself. It was a live broadcast type of show, but honestly the audience reaction, if real people act like that, then I feel sorry for them. Specualting on a childrens' caracter without evidence, nope. Comparing rich and poor on a scale of who is important and who is not. The show ppl and audience did it. Thinking that village people are all bad and pretentious etc. Honestly... like wtf. It was such a reactionary broadcast and it also felt like people had short-term memory loss. Biggest example, since the villain girl Ning Yuerou put away the sign away and let Zhizhi enter undeveloped cave where she got lost. After finding her people watched replay and found that the warning sign went missing in 3 minutes when cameraman changed batteries. It proved that only one person did it, but everyone forgot it when it came to other incidents, especially when being pointed out by the same girl you suspected previously. Everyone just forgets the events and never mentions them, so I suspect the one who wrote it doesn't really like to handle things or they don't remeber their own thing. Everything that characters do is simply out of convenience. Too many conveniences. Like the barrage reacts is simply convenient, what happens to characters is also convenience. So far, I was read it out of frustration in hope things might change, but even the emotional line of Zhizhi who should start feeling the family love is so forced omg :'D Whatever, really. One can read this if they want to be frustrated, that's what I tell you.

重生王牌妻:偏执薄爷,放肆撩

(mtl: Reborn Ace wife: flirting with mister Bo)

A bit immature writing, but not as bad as others I've managed to see. This one is a rebirth article, but actually after rebirth there are so many things happening. It has very short chapters, thus the total number of chapters exceeds 3k, I never read anything that long but so chopped up.

Basically, this story starts complicated and it feels like a 3 season TV show with 100 episodes per each. It has really a lot of things going on, but at least they don't really repeat themselves.

Mu Wanwan was plotted against in her last life. She grew up as adopted daughter of a loving family with Bo Shihan as her support who always protected her from everything. Later her parents had an accident, Mu Wanwan was recognized as a real daughter of Mu family, though she basically stayed with Mr. Bo who also was taken back to the Bo family. She was ostracized by her family, he was trying to become better, but couldn't help his paranoid personality that desired to posess her, since she was his only light and salvation. In the first life it really frightened her and it also gave her enemies the chance to make a move on both of them, she was basically used as an organ donor for the adopted Mu daughter. After being in the state of a soul for a long time she witnessed his madness because of her death, the cruelty of a man who claimed to love her but used her to treat the adopted daughter, Wanwan regretted it a lot. She was reborn and started trying to build a bridge that was very shaky between them.

Mr. Bo is a bit of old-fashioned possessive type, so there is allude to r* and a lot of roughness. The thing is Mu Wanwan accepts it, but in last life it was basically violence. Well, at least she makes it work and he becomes better later.

The story development is quite unpredictable. Like there are fights in wealthy families, plus twists of the story, the real identity of Mu Wanwan, who are her parents and also relatives, how tings are found. The overall feel also has this gangsta feel. Some things are pretty violent.

Although I did not agree with many things and understandably sometimes author themselves made misses with things that happened and then they mixed things up. There is a lot of convenience. But at least it is wild. As a result a bit entertaining. But I made a pause, since it's really long.

THE ONLY THING I REALLY DISLIKE IN THESE NOVELS IS THAT THE HEROINE CAN DO ANYTHING. Like she's a genius everywhere. Nothing happened, but she's invited to be a disciple everywhere she goes. It's unrealistic to be that good, especially when she was easily plotted against. Ok, she's a genius, but a dumb one, I get it. But really you may not even have time to be that good.

重生后真千金成了团宠

(mtl: After rebirth the real daughter became favorite of the group)

This one I didn't like, at all. Most of it in general and more like the ending of it really let me down, I couldn't understand the reasoning. The writing is immature too, like a lot.

Basically it's also a rebirth story with Lu Zhiyin. She was murdered by the adoptive daughter (there's a lot of adopted daughter stories that I came across on this site lol), but not only the same fate waited for her little son.

In last life Lu Zhiyin was plotted against and her first time was robbed by unknown man. Her reputation was ruined and her family scorned her even more. The man who claimed to be okay with it betrayed her completely on the wedding day where she saw how in the place she worked so hard to create her man and her fake sister held a wedding, this was the biggest humiliation. She left and found herself pregnant, she had a cute son and learned a lot abroad, but later found that her grandpa died so she returned, but it actually brought her bitter end.

In this life she realized that she happened to be in the room with Huo Beicheng, patriarch of the Huo family and was uncle of her scum ex. Their relationship started from there. They entangled a bit before being in a relationship. He was inexplicably interested in her and she at first wanted to bring the little son back to this world and later found that he's a really good man, worth trust and love.

The plot isn't new or smth, she was lost when she was a girl, was adopted, later she was found back and had several years of neglect. Her father didn' like her no matter what she did, her mother followed her father's heart and the adopted daughter always fought for favor. Unexpectedly, father didn't bring this girl to adopt out of nowhere, she was a daughter of his first love, even he knew that this daughter had ugly heart but tolerated everything, never knowing that his first love not only loved others, but simply plotted against him for his money (explained in the end). Mother followed like a good wife her husband, but later realized after being told by Zhiyin, that she treated her daughter so badly and ruined their relationship. Adopted daughter clinged to whoever she liked and who treated her well, but she was always against everyone thinking everyone owned her and hated all who said bad things, while overthinking in her head.

Zhiyin was with Beicheng soon, kept it quiet from her family, because she wanted revenge on her family. The only person who cared was grandpa but he was biased in both ways, even after being almost killed by his own son.

Basic slap back story. Again, the heroine has many skills to show off, which I always find silly, like how are you so talented in everything, when did you learn.

Also unfortunate thing, which I disliked the most, is that author offed some characters which also had foreshadowing of living actually. But I also find that it has no redemption factor to characters. Like yeah you can hate, but there is a situation when you see your mother being so shocked and out of place you could have stepped down and helped, not making your mom so desperate. It doesn't mean you should forgive, but at least some of enmity could be redeemed I think. Like making characters who were redeemed and those who were not. I also found it unnecessary to make the appearance of seven brothers so late, it'd be fun to have them earlier. Oh yeah, most unnecessary was the amnesia of ML, like he lost memory and they had friction with Zhiyin and later he really quickly fell in love again. Like why.

Immature, unbalanced, like a sketch, story so bleak that I forgot almost entire plot and read it like few days ago. My memory isn't that weak too.

[update]

This post was pending in drafts for a very long time (like months). I was planning to update it with several other novels I've read, but totally forgot and since then actually read quite few novels from this site. As expected they're very unbalanced most of the time and immaturish, though some were gems in the rough, which were great finds to me.

What can I say, I should have recognized raccoons as my spirit animal, after all I also like trash.
