Summary: Cheng Huan was an elite person, with his sudden death he is bound to a system that helps him traverse and help to fix wronged souls. Wishers are all called Cheng Huan and he is also has a person who travels along, though doesn't remember the past.
My biggest pet peeve about this is that it is run under '纯爱' category, but this is the first time I've been SO misled as a reader. The so-called love comes at the very end of the novel, it barely has any ground due to MC's character and his attitude towards ML throughout all arcs. The thing is MC is a straight person and starts as a straight person. He always treats ML as a friend, only in last two arcs he suddenly agrees for persuit.
CHARACTERS:
- MC. More like a Holy Father. The only good thing about this novel tbh. He is indeed kind and good, always takes care of others. Many are kind to him in return and rely on him, which is part of many missions. He has no special feelings for ML throughout the whole novel except friendship, only regards ML as his great friend who was with him in many worlds, but thing is, it is nothing different from others, just a feeling of goodwill that is greater towards ML than others.
- ML. Very background character, sometimes he is not even present at all, but for some reason the system knows about him and treats him as potential love interest of MC (explained at the end). The thing is MC is straight and the way system tries to get them together is weird. At least ML never forced himself on MC, but this simply made the romance non-existent. Imagine such thing, you read entire novel and there's no romantic feelings at all, one person is straight and imagine your feelings at the ending.
WORLDS:
- This author has something I don't like in writing. It is called too much convenience. Like when something happens it is either conveniently solved or moves into very one-directional way. Some backstories are quite weird to me, but whatever. More about Arcs, so you can understand this novel:
- ARC 1. Controversial arc to me. Considering the story/events at the beginning. The thing is in one of my previously read novels "恶毒男配就要为所欲为" (2020) I've seen a similar arc where both MCs were sent to a facility (medical school-torture place and asylum, respectively). Both MCs start in some inconspicious alley surrounded by several people, one of those has an accute heart attack (youth that was shot by an energy gun and an old man who helped ppl escape asylum, respectively), later they all travel from one place to another not to get caught and MC helps youths to get justice in their family situations. The only difference is how arcs develop after that, but the premises are just so coincidentally similar. MC of this novel becomes a renowned doctor who knows Chinese Medicine, he used it along the way to earn money for travel etc. Original host was wrongly held as a child, but when the real boy comes out the original host is sent to the prison school by his cousine who wanted to earn good points in front of the real son. Two fathers forgot about Cheng Huan, biological father didn't even realize that his son had a shop right across his own for some times. In the end MC detached himself from both fathers, sent all kids to learn, became great in his field and had a good ending.
- ARC 2. Back in 80's. Original host got a chance to become a cook, he has 7 sisters at home to feed. But the thing is his sisters by the wish of their dying mother always have to remind MC to be humble, which they took too far by belittling him. MC travels in the right time to save his reputation, people around find out that his sister destroy his reputation and pretend to be poor though all money MC earns are sent to sisters. There is also a protag in this novel, an intersex person who got pregnant and in original timeline used original host to raise the child before leaving. With MC now the conspirancy of his sisters falls through, the protag gets found out being a man, MC also finds out that he is an adopted child, but more likely he was brought to help take care of him for his parents to be in danger at that time. He also helped to solve the kidnapping case, which uncovered a while net of kidnapping cases of their small town, since many people buy kids but they don't really know where kids came from. MC's parents actually have a pretty strong background and MC is being taken away by them to a place where he belonged.
- ARC 3. Twins. The mother of twins gets divorced from the abusive husband, but because of her situation she takes only one son away, one she considers more sensible and likes more. Later original host is left orphaned. MC arrives at the time when original host is still in school and his task is to lead their class, which is considered the worst, to become a great achiever to get the chance for their voices to be heard and deal with the cuber violence case of their school where only achievers no matter how bad they are inside get a good ending. Again many convenient events like almost everyone in the class is talented in some field etc. MC proves with power that he doesn't need any teachers, all teachers don't even teach them properly, so they rely on self-studies and their relative fields. MC soon climbs to the top, secretely makes great contribution in science just to get enough funds to live and later the deeds of his mother also get uncovered how she simply left her second son and treated him like that and the twin brother also maliciously sent his own brother to a different school, though original host is a great achiever. All ends well again.
- ARC 4. Here MC gets a metaphisics talent. In every arc he gets something, but here it's at least bigger. But also shows how great MC can be and without a doubt can sacrifice points just to turn back in time and save a little girl who was violated. In this story original host has a sister, whose biggest dream is to become a wealthy mistress. She hooks up with a son of a wealthy family, but is always treated badly due to her origins. She is also made into a rag that they whipe the floor with and has to handle all types of humiliations, including her husband being unfaithsul. MC finds out that he has a metaphisical talent, that's hwo he caught his sister's husband. But also uncovers a great conpsiracy around that family. As it turns out all sons of that family were not from the father, he wore a green at all along, the true father is a metaphisical talents who used luck of other people as well as many human sacrifices to feed the luck of his own son, all these things are uncovered by MC in the end. He also becomes a big figure in metaphisical world, but stays low-key and helping all his life.
- ARC 5. This one is a weird arc, simply because of the premise, maybe the author tried to play the raising cubs theme, though in their interpretation it's more like a nightmare. Anyway in this arc the supposed protag has a golden finger - he can communicate with animals. But this is how he tricked animals to obey him. MC in this world is a veterinarian and he uncovered this protag time and time again. At first he made people see the true face of protag's cafe where countless cats were kept in unsatisfactory environment. Then protag was attacked by his own animals and disappeared for some time. And in the end uncovered his breeding house that created many breeds with weak genetics. Well, MC became a well-renowned veterinarian and basically had to take of many rescued cats. So this was basically an animal arc, even ML was actually a Maine Coon.
- ARC 6. Entertainment. MC arrives during a draft, his task is to help his peers to have a stage. They come from the same company. Protag is a reborn character who got a system, in original timeline MC and others became world-renowned male group. This time under protag's instigations they had worst songs or most complicated etc. but they went all out thanks to MC's support and also escaped the biggest threat when protag had no idea what to do, had no points and used a fan to almost drug the team of MC. While he himself failed to perform well in the group only using others as a foil etc. In the end his conspiracy was uncovered and he got cnvicted for attempted harm.
- ARC 7. In this arc the original host was just a passer-by who was greatly misunderstood by his university. He was also framed by a student who tried to steal his research, MC dropped out right away and moved his research to national institute where he proceeded to make great contributions and also cleared his reputation of dirty water. In original turn of events his death was put on the female lead's head who contributed to original host's death with her article and later she didn't cope with stress and also comitted suicide. In this timeline MC helped himself but also this female lead. And later reached the peak.
- ARC 8. Original host had a dramatic story, he was a homosexual and got together with a woman who also liked same-sex, they wanted to create a good home and have a child as means of a cover, but they still liked each other enough and loved the child greatly. But original host had an accident and was in a coma, while his wife was afraid her child will be taken away, so she escaped and changed her name. But the tragedy of the situation was that original host thought the mother and daughter died and he mourned them all his life, while the girls had a tragic life too, was scammed by relatives of a house and money her mother spent her hard time to earn and eventually died overworking, she had a terrible fate. In this timeline MC is actually his daughter's teacher and helped her with the family of aunt that abused her and soon they reunited, of course MC played a bit, so the girl would first like him a bit and then the truth will be unfolded, so the girl wouldn't end up hating him for leaving her. This one felt weird, because it was manipulative and MC could always tell her about his accident and through time get her trust. But happy end in the end, ML in this arc was MC's blind date, but again they stayed friends for entire life.
- ARC 9. This arc was really tugged by all ears etc. Like this was the worst while reading and the dumbest. In this arc original host is just a bartender boy, his brother did an oopsie and was lying about his wealth just because he was poor and wanted some of that feeling, but he never confirmed what he showed is his. Due events it was uncovered like many other bloggers and it affected his brother's life and also owner of the bar original host worked in. The owner is out ML in this arc he is loosing his sight due to disease. MC arrived in time to win others in a competition, made his brother apologize on the Internet and in front of his classmate friends, make himself better. But due course he found out that many people were brought into this with one agenda, destroy ML to get his inheritance. For that many people/students were made to either take a loan or a naked loan and later were manipulated into doing things, this includes the protag of this story who originally supposed to have a happy life. Anyway this was the stupidest arc so far, because it made no sense how many people were bought so long ago and used, the net of people was so unimaginably huge and unrealistic, so yeah, here we have it. But of course happy ending with MC staying with ML all his life and helping him deal with all company matters.
- ARC 10. In this arc original host's family gets framed and slaughtered by the emperor, it is ancient era. Original host becomes the holy monk of the temple to get revenge, but a female lead with a golden finger is on his way who was bound with scum men defeat system, but basically it scavanged all men she could putting it under her skirt and became the starting point of entire country fall and many innocent lives being taken. Host arrives at the critical point that started it all - the death of newly born prince that was supposed to become the successor to holy monk and the temple. MC saved the prince, sent profecy dreams to the emperor and dealt with the female lead, using talismans to seal her soul and system in her body so they won't leave and simply watched the small prince grow and become capable, while the emperor made a fool of himself. In the end the emperor was indeed fooled and dethroned with the small prince taking place. In this world ML was a dark phoenix, a bird of justice and could transform into human by the end of arc. The only time they finally talked, ML always called themselves a Taoist couple, which he shared with MC later.
- ARC 11. In this arc original host had a sister he missed, since she was picked up from an orphanage, but he wasn't, he looked for her for a long time but had an accident and died in a plane crash, his sister who was beaten into her current personality of a pleaser was used all her life by her "best friend" who initially stole her fiancee, used her for studies, work etc. In this world MC arrived in time for the important moment, it was the time when his sister caught her fiancee with her friend and actually blessed them, but instead of coming home and being thrown out by the adoptive family she was held back by MC who later explained that he is her brother and basically took the hardcore position trying to break her from her previous temperament and basically he did succeed. Because he intervened in time her ex-fiancee was labeled as a scum and her best friend as a junior. This arc ML was a big man, who again had a bad past. They both got together and brought MC's sister into a big woman who succeeded both of their businesses. In this world MC had a really bad constitution and did not live long but at the end offered a ring and that they should engage in next life.
- ENDING. MC travels again and in this life he comes to find that original host's friend got together with a male lead, but finds out that this male lead has ML's name, but doesn't look anything like that and finds out that ML's family lost their child long ago and he thought of one option - ML's identity is stolen. He manages to find ML who was severely injured and kept in the house all the time, but since he knew about MC promise he kept on going. MC saves ML and the uncover the trafficking family of the male lead and their family goes to jail. All good, this time both do get engaged and get together finally and at their wedding they get their memories back. As it happens ML is a nine-taled cat who was supposed to fullfill wishes but failed, in one world he met MC who was kind to him and lived together, when MC died he travelled to find his soul reincarnated and reunited, but at one point MC had a crash with his family and so he wouldn't die, ML used the system to bind MC, so he would go through worlds, fullfill wishes and become a god like himself before returning back, which they did, they got back to the moment after the car accident, all were alive and MC and ML had a happy ending.
