Summary: Yan Su wakes up and finds out that she is in the plot. System informs her that those are either plots she can know or may find things for herself depending on the world and each time the original host has some lingering wish to fulfill. Yan Su is surprised by all the bugs in the plots and has no idea why they happened but she tries to fix them and bring back IQ.
Yan Su unfortunately does not remember who she is and where she came from, all the memories she has are very vague and few in number. She travels the worlds and each time meets a person who loves her unconditionally.
There is a rumor between the systems that the Lord God is missing.
What is the most appealing thing to me - the development of romance in this novel. Yan Su did not fall in love back after just one world, she might have wanted to return some feelings but first worlds all have pretty sad endings and even if she is not on the same level of love, but at least she started from a promise to give it a try. If I'm not wrong she finished 3 worlds before they finally could be together in a full sense without her short life in those worlds.
From then on her love grew from world to world. And I think this is the biggest significance. Since at first Yan Su's mind was not on romance (spoilers below) and original host's wish did not involve it too, so her mind was on other things, but this man conquered her with his sincere heart and never-changing affection for her and her only.
Within three worlds she guessed that the man was the same man in each world, it was obvous from details which were the touching point, as if his soul remembered what she expressed in previous world and does it in the next world.
And since the color of the story changed (thankfully) and the story became more like a soft cookie, this part of his soul remembering was slowly put down. I mean by this time there was no need in it.
And the further they go the less time they spent on preamble and fell in love rather quickly (if conditions allowed it), because neither of them saw the need to prolong things. So it was more or less logical why they fell in love in many later worlds at first sight.
With falling in love Yan Su also got glimpses of herself, but mostly we know nothing about her, only guesses.
Another appealing thing is how original plots are treated. It's a refreshing article and it's actually fun to see a some sort of irony towards the "protagonists" or otherwise buggy people in thes plots. While the world sometimes ignores the logic (at least the plot that Yan Su gets), but when she arrives the logic is always back online.
Now onto the spoilers and arcs (their short descriptions). Note: The system has no presence in the story, only rarely appears:
Arc I.
Since it's a sad period this one needs tissues. Although the author's style is simple, but I was touched by the family dynamics. In this one YS is a beloved daughter of an emperor, her brother is the Crown Prince. The one with the bug is a second sister who transmigrated and wanted to change the history of this country and promote her brother, thinking it will be easy. In the plot the Princess goes to war against the tribes, since she doesn't want to be a marriage pawn. The Emperor eventually supported her, despite the heartache of letting his most beloved child fight. She won many battles, but left this plane early. Here she met the scholar Bai Chongmin, whom she claimed as 'boring' and it was a feud between them (sounded like flirting actually). But this is where we know the ML of the story, at least Chongming stays as a link for few worlds.
Also this world is an ancient plane, but was the most progressive for women because of this Emperor and many women got the chance to be educated in this era.
The one fact that was true to me is that the transmigrating person tought she is a protag of this world, but did not realize that she is now in a harem full of intrigue and no one is a dumb person. Her sudden changes attracted a lot of attention etc. So it's the opposite plot where everyone is vying for what protagonist has (especially trying to accumulate wealth etc. which will not go unnoticed under the Emperor's nose).
Arc II.
This story is set in 70s. Original owner married a man and got money after the divorce after which she developed well. But her cousin only remembered that the man will become a millionaire, this is why she did not think twice and dumped a man who was courting her (and whose advances she accepted), but she did not think things through and her mind was living with some of the future norms and she completely forgot that a lot of what she did now will be a stain on her life. And this is how it happened.
While everyone around her told her that this man has nothing and will rely on others she lived in a dream of future when she will become a rich wife, but everyone around her laughed at her.
In this life YS became a soldier like her father, it's also a sad arc because she knew her man for years and it was also a touching love, but since he supported her she did best for the country. In arc one and two he did not survive for long because of the heartache since YS did not survive on a mission.
This novel has a style of sometimes giving a short part of the info and not concentrating on everything.
Arc III.
In this one it's a disturbing era of recently fallen monarchy, the rise of warlords and the invasion. YS was born in the family of such a warlord, but her father did not inherit grandfather's qualities, but was afraid of death and in the plot he would escape and then return and live a long life, while his entire family will fall for the greater cause. In this time there are two insignificant transmigrating people who are ready to betray at any time, since they just want to preserve their wealth and they know the story of this man. In this world the story os the Princess of the first world also exists as a nice touch and her family should be the descendants, but it's not her, but the OG princess.
In this life YS had to be ambitious, from usurping the power to building factories, to digging safe places. Her man was a sickly master of a family who were plotted against by YS's father, but eventually the family got closer and it's in this world (because YS was deeply touched by what her man did in the previous life) when YS agreed to marry after the conflict, which of course she didn't survive because she is only a single person and she had a huge responsibility on her shoulders and she is not omnipotent, only physically better than others.
Honestly at the scene of her nameless tomb which had the name of her man on it as her widower I cried at that.
Arc IV.
End of the world and crazy harem without a bottom line, this is how I want to call it.
Original owner belongs to a wealthy circle, but her father had a lover outside and when her mother went crazy (was fed meds) he took the lover to the house with her two children, one of them is the "protag", who gave the info about the end of the world to five people (supporting male roles) who played the cycle of I love you, no I love him and I love everyone entangled relationships. in geenral YS called her a sow, because she used space and spring for herself and those who follwed her, but ended up only giving birth to babies and even if she was on the top of the pyramid it was a dystopia with strict heirarchy of supernaturals. YS had a look of an old man watching the phone.
She got the jade with spring and space back, it's the heirloom of their family and started working on several directions, saving her family from being framed, informing the country about the end of the world etc.
While the illegitimate daughter played the weird idol drama, the country took notice of the big moves from several families that were in cahoots and those were still times before the apocalypse, so they got in after some time for their actions.
YS seriously disrupted the flow, especially informing the higher-ups about the imminent danger.
Our man comes from another family who was later also framed. But the thing that is touching he still remembers to protect the country like she did so he is a soldier in this life.
When the end of the world came there was no dominance of superpowers like in previous plot and the spring water she gave also gave hope that everything will return to normal soon.
In terms of romance the two did come together. But if I'm not wrong this arc did not have a solid ending, it was more like an open ending. Which will become a trend. That their life in this world is not discussed about how long they lived or if they had kids etc. Maybe this is why you have a feeling that you have a slow progress.
Arc V.
In this one YS becomes a kid. She is supposed to be a foil for a favorite daughter, but if you read closer you will realize this "protag" is nothing more but a spoilt kid.
YS is supposed to be hated and forgotten by everyone and the reason for it is that some half-baked taoist master said about her fate like she isa child with heavy fate, stuff like that. But it lead to her being neglected and she lost hearing due to fever and she did not like to run around and be noisy, in the eys of the family confirming the words of the priest. But they created this fate themselves.
In this life her man is still a teenage boy Lou Xu. He comes from a Lou family and he has a connection with Yan Su through his stepmother, his father married a woman from the Yan family, but she was not presentable, even the father knew it but actually this point was never covered. He never wanted to give this stepmom face and visit her family, but something tugged him.
By this time YS went through several conflicts with her family, but what could she do, her mother is a housewife that only works because of her mother-in-law's words, while her family should be well off.
Lou Xu meets YS by chance and notices this poor child, when he comes to visit he notices something wrong with this family, how could they neglect such a sensible child, she is malnourished and looks like she is three yo.
He decided to take her away, he used his biological mother for the adoption in exchange for profit, the Yan family happily agreed, since everyone hated YS but loved her "twin" Yan Jiao. But the fact they sold their daughter was spread, along with other juicy gossip about their family.
YS became a favorite in another family, she was smart and sensible so everyone liked her and pitied her fate.
This part has a timeskip, YS skips grades a lot, the Yan family did not get the profits they dreamed of, but instead had a downfall. Lou Xu's father divorced the woman from the Yan family soon after YS's was adopted (he actually had feelings for his ex-wife). The "pet favorite" Yan Jiao is nothing else but a poilt young lady with a pig brain. One day YS accidentally meets them and they get stuck to her, since she is a famous princess of wealthy families, not on par to the Yan family. They got into troubles but blames YS for that. Yan Jiao thought she could get away with stupid framing, but in return YS sued everyone for rumors and after finding Yan Jiao she sent her to sit behind bars. As a warning Yan family was hit hard financially.
Yan family actually had a lot of drama going on through years. Pretty fun to read.
Romantically Lou Xu was the one who brought up YS and protected her like an eagle, when she came of age their relationship changed. Although it's not really shown but YS becomes really close to relatives she cares about and they love her in return. To the point Lou Xu's family had opinions about him when they figured his feelings.
Arc VI.
In this arc YS is a sister to male supporting role, the one who always comes to the rescue but silently blesses the heroine when she is not chosen.
The story begins from a car accident, the one with a broken leg is YS, the one who hit her was the male protag, why, because female protag Su Qi told him about YS's words. But YS was right, Su Qi had unclear relationship with her boss and did not confess to it, was shielding the perpetrator and took away YS's belonging so she couldn't make a phone call to her family. Explaining she didn't want her family to worry. YS called her brother. And thankfully he wasn't as influenced, on the contrary when the truth came to light the whole Yan family started to hating Su Qi for covering a person who hit their daughter, forgetting all the good things their family did for the Su family (who, after finding their daughter hooked with the rich, excused her of any guilt and were hoping to fly up).
In this world YS's man was the doctor who operated on her leg. They came together rather quickly.
YS also did not take part in the destruction on the Chu family where the male protag who hit her belongs to. Butthe entire Yan family took their time fighting the injustice.
But even if the Chu family was down, it's the only arc when we've got a continuation and a time skip. Especially bringing Su Qi several time in picture and her failure of becoming rich and famous, her becoming fatter and uglier, becoming more unreasonable and worst mother ever (poor kid). She once tried to muddy the water with Mrs Chu since they hated Yan Su for bringing disaster to their family. And they hired a family to discredit the man in this world. It was YS who was resolute in solving this case. In this world she got involved with police after this case, but not much was said. She only appeared a bit as a family of three, the only arc with the mention of a kid, a small cute boy.
Arc VII.
Back to ancient plane with true/fake daughter plot. YS was unloved with her family, it was known to her mother and the old lady that she was not biological, but they kept her because she will ward off a catastrophe.
YS arrives right after the incident and will not stay silent. A lot scheming going on with revealing the face of her family, contacting biological parents etc.
But the other daughter actually is a traverser, in original plot she'd hood up with a king and go thrugh domineering president type of plot and revel, there is no continuation but YS knows it won't end good.
Unlike the other daughter who only thought of schemes and accumulation of wealth YS was very high profile. Because she had more experience and knowledge than the true daughter, she took out more important things that would benefit the country. With the help of her man especially, since he was a beloved nephew to the current Emperor. From a simple girl she was given a title that was on part with nobles, all for her inventions and improvements.
On the other hand the Chen family went into decline, but because the first room helped YS during the adverse times, she also helped them in return to get jobs and to jump out of this fire pit.
The true daughter thought she can cooperate, but was dumbfounded by YS who could easily tell her everything she did (glass, soap etc) but said she was just too lazy. And has no need for cooperation since she is a powerhouse herself.
Chen true daughter was not on par with her, but was asked by the domineering king to improve the weapons etc. but what could she do. They tried to rebel, since it was inevitable, but of course were easily defeated and the man poisoned her and himself as the last "act of love". Chen daughter was regretting that she was on bad terms with the Yan family who raised her, but of course it is tinted with interest, Yan family provided her and had given her freedom, but she went and was not against when her lover sent assassins to annihilate her family and YS.
The fun part I will remember for a long time is how ater everything was done there were voices in court that YS and her husband the prince are too powerful, but Emperor laughed because he got letters from both, one wrote he is too lazy, he is chasing his wife all day another wrote she is too lazy to get up so early and she is fine tinkering by herself. These two were too stuck together to care about the rest of the world, even if their prestige was unprecedented.
Arc VIII.
It felt like this one is shorterand not really as interesting. This time we concentrate more on the two, since the guy is still a teen when she finds him and saves hi from slumps, usually he is not in such a dire situation and his background is usually good, despite having some health problems or the like.
This time YS cares for her younger brother before he grows up and goes to college. She is barely 17 herself and is a great achiever, heir to a big group, the story behind it is about her family situation.
her mother is a love brain, her father is a Phoenix man waiting for the old man to die, they brainwashed OG that she has to work and inherit for them, but I think even OG wouldn't do such a losing business. The old man still couldn't leave his daughter, but she was making a fool of herself all the time and disappointed the poor man time and time again. YS was more ruthless and told her grndpa that if he can't let go the problems will continue without stopping, since her mother has no bottom line. She evntually could accept two illegitimate children into the house and ask YS for their schooling.
Her man is treated as a big villain in this arc, but he is a bit sinister behind YS's back when he deals with people. Creepy and a bit cool. YS appeared like a ray of light in his life where everyone could beat and scold him, so he changed the trajectory of his life a lot (maybe not his character though).
Arc IX.
Last world where YS is a teacher in school, OG should serve as a control group to the heroine who is a teacher in the best Class 1, but OG's fate was actually tragic in a sense she died trying to save her student from comitting suicide, but it was not mentioned in detail in the bigger plot, as if that Class 1 did not have several bad seeds and the heroine was the best teacher who protected her students, she had good background and later married the hero who grew up with her. YS again was surprised at the logic of a heroine who protected perpetrators as if their lives are lives and others could step aside and be forgiving no matter what harm was caused to them.
OG wanted her to protect the kids and also the property left by the late grandma, one of those cases where she is born not in a family with divorced parents who remarried soon after divorce when OG was 5, left her to her grandma but now they target the old apartment left to YS after not appearing her entire life.
I think in this arc YS and her man came together the fastest, like instant love at first sight and relationship without any big words within few days with tacit understanding.
But actually it's pretty natural if you look at the entire novel, YS fell deeper in love with each world and if circumstances allowed she would not beat around the bush and will be with her man.
As for the plot, mostly we concentrate on the last year of YS leading Class 15, she changed the teaching method and tried to make everyone in class work hard, guided them to change their fates. Since most of these kids were forgotten by the school not because they are not smart, but because it's a vicious cycle of teachers being not serious in studying and then being surprised why this class does not catch up, but they still don't work hard.
YS started from the fram-up case and the bullying case (which led the girl to suicide in original plot). She went against the school. But her resolute approach of course made her esolated from other teachers, which she never cared about, but others didn't want to be on her bad side.
Everyone had a look of watching Class 15 making fools of themselves, but the class actually improved their grades rapidly. And this became her backing in a sense. When school once again wanted to move her back, because the heroine's bf put pressure on the school to let her take a long vacation (aka make her resign earlier), parents of her class made a huge fuss and the school had to beg YS to return and teach. Although the heroine Lan Tian did not instigate him, but she indeed said something about YS, thus leading to this situation, but YS is not an easy person to deal with, she has many skills and knows how to act. She investigated the situation of this domineering president and wrote few things to relevant departments, which consequently led to hero's arrest lol and Lan Tian was blamed for it, since YS was not the main in the picture, but many parents who made a fuss (and they're not simple parents, but wealthy families).
It's cute to see this class becoming better. And they indeed achieved great result, not anything groundbreaking, but compared to previous marks this class had, the progressed a lot.
So Yan Su led this class to graduation and then resigned, the school with the changed helm wanted to retain her but she refused. She married her man, named Gu Lian in this world, he is again a doctor. And after a while applied to teach in a university, quite close to her husband's hospital. pretty happy life~
This novel has an open ending, meaning it does not return to some "original world" or explains the past of Yan Su and her man. I call him her man because he basically has no name, the most commonly used was Chongmin which was used in several arcs, but it wasn't used in all arcs. And it is evident from the summary that he is Lord God, otherwise we would have no idea, since there is no explanation on his background or anything else except his love for Yan Su.
I may repeat myself but I actually liked that Yan Su fell in love gradually. Even if at first she loved but you could feel it was uncomparable and not that deep. And she gradually came to love Chongmin more and more. She is a great character and there is no emphasis on her beauty constantly but you can guess her temperament is special, plus she doesn't rely on her man to do things, he may do them on his own accord, but she never explicitly asks for things she can handle herself.
Also I like that this book is practically not problematic, with no cringe situations between FMC and MMC. The plotlines are fun and easy which I'm thankful for, since the first three worlds made me think we'll continue in the same fashion of YS sacrificing and I'd need a ton of tissues since those plots were sad. But thankfully the plot (glass) turned into a sweet cookie.
The way original plots are treated with irony as if they lack IQ is also up my alley, I like when dumb plots are put under the lense with more IQ and it starts to be funnier.
It's only 9 arcs.. I am amazed because this novel is 860 chapters long, although chapters are very short, but it's still a lot. Basically approx 100 chapters per arc.
It's a second novel I finish by this author. But actually I saw in bookmarks there is another one I started (long ago and even finished almost 300 chapters but I remember NOTHING isn't it funny), but I suppose I never finished since it was on-going, I looked up the dates and it was only recently completed.
Edit: I read just few lines from this novel and instantly remembered what this novel was about, it's a QT, but there is emphasis on FMC and her dad, she constantly remembers things from the original world which is an apocalypse type of script where er dad cherished her so much despite the circumstances, she basically signed an agreement with the system because her dad is the most dear relative to her and she wanted to fix things not to disappoint him and her father is like a big villain in those worlds? If I'm not wrong each story has something to do with the fathe figure who might have gotten into trouble and she helps him. So it has a strong family theme.
Also a strange fact for some reason I wanted to type Rong Xi as FMC's name all the time while writing this, I have no idea why this name stuck in my head suddenly instead of Yan Su. Just find it funny.
