[Chinese BG novel] 继承公司后艺人全是顶流 by 露水沾金 / After accepting inheritance the company is full of top streamers

Default image of the cover.

Summary: Shui Qing was reborn. In her last life she suffered from love. She was a love-brained girl who refused money / inheritance and broke up with her existing family, her uncle, just for the sake of chasing a man. Only two months into relationship and she finds out that her White Moonlight boyfriend hangs around rich women for resources.
As it happened she awakened and was reborn with a system. Now she only has career i her eyes. And as for original "heroine" who is also her cousin Xia Zhixu. She didn't want to deal with her, but this cousin continued to jump in front of her eyes and digging her own grave.

With spoilers~
This novel is a career type of novel within entertainment industry with a lot of slap backs.
Shui Qing realizes that her actions were dictated by the plot, not by her own will. Her cousine is supposed to be a winner in life, but in reality she just takes advantage of everything disregarding the well-being of anyone she uses as a stepping stone.
Now that Shui Qing inherited the company and had to increase the turnover she is already on a different starting line from Xia Zhixu.
It's actually funny how Shui Qing gave all the important people in the company a tome of Criminal Law and info on taxes.
Basically this company belonged to her uncle who moved abroad. He left her his bigger pie - YuShi Group, but to get one she must make this entertainment company profitable.
But the company is full of "our own people", unspoken rules and degradation.
Slowly Shui Qing gets rid of all the scum and bugs who do nothing and concentrates on training people with potential.
The main idol who couldn't act became a great actor.
Her best friend who is also a love-brain girl was sento to a dating show and she returned only thinking about career.
She also found people in trouble or who had potential and slowly the company grew with household names.
The ending of this novel is actually quite great where Shui Qing describes that she started with a goal of revenue, but in the end she now only cares for those artists under her to achieve success they deserve for their talent.

As for her cousine, this is fun. Xia Zhixu is basic venomous and narrow-minded woman. She used the power of her boyfriend (despite obviously being a mistress) and his capital to debut. She used a lot of marketing to promote herself as talented and not touched by mud, but was the muddiest in reality.
She hated Shui Qing, since the uncle left his inheritance to her (though this uncle would never leave it to Zhixu, she indirectly was involved in the death of his only love), she hated SQ's best friend Song WanWan just because WanWan had a good luck even when she was scolded by netizens for her love brain. She targetted anyone and everyone. In the end the official fiancee of her boyfriend, who is a typical president who can't feel it's wrong for a woman to be so vicious, but who also wanted to have a cake and eat it too, they found themselves on hot searches revealing their affair and the fact that Zhixu's boyfriend is engaged and she's a mistress. She was hammered once (brilliant Internet campaign sponsored and produced by the fiancee Sang Me, wa fun to read), but when Zhixu tried to jump again she also got hammered by Shui Qing too.
Of course Zhixu is inconsiderate of her boyfriend and did not care that all her projects he invested into lost money because of her reputation, but all she could do is to demand and keep demanding. All in all a selfish and greedy bitch.

As for the relationship.
The ML is Shen Zhouling (or Chen, I have no idea and MTL kept translating it into one or another), he fell in love with Shui Qing long ago, but she chose the scumbag and now he returned from abroad and they met again.
Since Shui Qing not only didn't care about falling inlove but was actually oblivious, they spent a lot of time together since he reappeared in her life.
She also had another man who wanted to pursue her, but at one point he made a wrong choice and this drove a wedge into the relationship between Shui Qing and Sang Ting, so they were not able to be friends anymore.
As for Zhouling, he was always sincere and supportive, a very good person.
I must admit that I didn't like the situation where they had to disclose their relationship, it felt a bit forced (even if by the time Zhouling was pursuing Shui Qing for some time). Also soon after Shui Qing changed her attitude and was not against falling in love.
In general I was not impressed by the relationship plotline.

The greatest part from this novel would be some witty clapbacks from netizens. I really should have just written them down, some were really good. The only one I remember was "holding 10l of oil in your mouth" referring to someone talking too greasy.
The second best thing when it comes to witty comments were actually dialogues with WanWan. When she was a love brain her character was unbearable, but when she talked about loving Shui Qing, it was witty and on the edge. E.g. when Shui Qing asked what she would like to get, she answered bring your heart that loves me. Honestly WanWan felt like an expert of one-liners.

As a conclusion I had a good time. It's truly not a novel that will just leave you speechless, but it's totally fine in my opinion.

Note: does not involve this review, but actually the author and their other novel that is still on-going, which I started and I must say it also has a potential, it's called 顶级流量她决定发疯[娱乐圈] right now (saying "right now" because I know how many times the title may change. it's a story of a reborn top stream actress who got tired from being a better person and holding it in).

[Chinese BG novel] 真千金选择继承家产后 by 泡泡芒果茶 / After real daughter decided to inherit family property

Summary: Su Su suddenly died in her original world from overworking, but found herself in a novel where everyone surrounded the adopted daughter of the Su family, while she, the real daughter, who returned after being outside for many years was not welcomed. Not by her father, not by her fiance, and honestly not by her sister as well.
It is a brainless novel where everyone serves as a foil to showcase the heroine's kindness and anyone who thinks otherwise is just jealous of her.
Su Su hated such settings, especially because many of the foil characters had such a bad ending or poor fate and were not treated well by it. So she makes a move that changes everything and especially the fate of herself - inherit the property left by her grandfather.

This is more of a career novel than romance. You could say she attracts many people around her and novel is full of love interests, but Su Su actually helped all the fodders out of the goodness of her heart.

Su Su arrived precisely at the moment of signing, she is not the original Su Su and she can see the hypocricy of the Su father, not to mention she knows the contents of the novel and knows that Su Su won't be praised for supporting her father, but her father will go out with the adopted daughter Su Nian, who felt "unwell".

Su Nian is the typical hypocritical girl, it is a bit unknownif she was always like that but in later parts it is revealed that she lives by the rule of "who is nice to her will end up well, who is against me will end up badly". Any sane character is said to be jealous of her. But what to be jealous about? She is uglier than Su Su, the current one. Eventually Su Su's career became so great, but Su Nian can only be a daughter, a wife material probably, shallow girl who thinks only about dresses and dags and doesn't want her life to be taken away. She loves the attention and no one notices that she always stays out of trouble and expects others to surround her like the center of attention. She uses other to elevate herself, unconsciously or not.

Because Su Su inherited what her grandfather left her she took over entertainment company that was losing money and was a bare company. She started from scratch.
Note: She also has a system, but it doesn't help, instead it is Su Su who should work hard to prolong her life. This is why she worked hard in initial stages.
She saved Song Zhixiu's brother who is a firefighter, because this young man was described in the novel to serve as a foil to a boy group candidate chosen by orig. male protag (Lin Yuxiu, hooking up with Su Nian). Now Song Zhixiu under her became more positive about life, his family was okay, he liked what he does.
Chu Yan was blackened artists and was the second to be saved by Su Su. He was banned because he refused advances of a rich woman. But before that his own company punished him by maliciously labeling him and editing videos.
Su Su used part of the inheritance to became wagers in her relationships with a TV station, from one side she had good relationships with Song Zhixiu's program and gave opportunity to Chu Yan. Also releasing the evidence of black-hearted company.
Basically, she became the true light for these men. Unlike original story where they already were in big trouble, went through hell and later Su Nian appeared saying some basic stuff as if she's the best savior in the world.
While Song Zhixiu is not directly related to Su Nian, but Chu Yan was in the same orphanage and saw through Su Nian who used her appearances to seek help from others, just like in the past she saught help from him. Another person related to Su Nian is Shu Cheng, orphanned boy who, if not for Su Su would not treat himself timely and leave sequelae, Su Nian was his tutor but after meeting Su Su who helped him when he saw Su Nian in a situation where he saw her occupying a seat reserved for Su Su and not saying a single word while others were rude to Su Su, especially when she says things like "It's not like that" or "Don't misunderstand". His worldview shattered. His thoughts were: You say you miss your sister, but allow people to talk to her like that and don't move your ass, while saying you will move.
But of course in Su Nian's eyes all these men were supposed to surround her, like she's such a good girl, everyone likes her and if not then her sister must have said something bad about her.
But now these men treat her as air and annoyance actually. They see she just wants to elevate herself through them, as if they should please her for some reason.

This is how the novel went on. Su Su was saving her business, other characters she was aware of. We have several people developing in the entertainment business, she also solves some problems that were mentioned in the novela nd keeps away from Su Nian and her low-IQ gang.

The insignificant part is the romance part, you could treat it as open-ending type, because Lin Hechuan being an official match did not get any confirmation in the end and it became an open ending, their relationship is discussed in extras. But yeah he did not appear for long time. Later he was finally mentioned to be the helm of the Lin family, but he worked just to lead the Lin to new heights why his family expected him to give Lin to male protag after he retires.
Funnily Lin Hechuan left Lin family when he kept in contact with Su Su and some of the things she said inspired him for it. She herself inspired him to do it. After all he gave her the ring he worse as a token of never marrying. The part where he leaves the Lin's is satisfying to know.

But when it comes to those we don't like (Su dad, Su Nian, male protag) it is basically the following, Su dad is now facing crisi since many people don't want to work with him, because of the way he treated his biological daughter and did many stupid moes for her. Then Su Nian who wanted to enter entertainment was exposed during the airing of her show where she instigated Chu Yans father (a gambler who almost caused his death and also sucked his blood/money/) to look for Chu Yan. Her deeds were long known so she just hid at home. Male protag was in turmoil since Lin Hechuan left, who knows his attitude towards Su Nian, but at least he never appeared after it was exposed.

In general it's a refreshing article where FMC works on her career and there are ups and downs.
The onyl fault is the author's style, sometimes they start mulling the same paragraph, just rephrasing the same thing several times.

[Chinese BG novel] 渣了我后,他们悔不当初 by 暮寒公子 / After they left me, they regretted it

Summary: Before knowing that Yun Feijing was the daughter of the richest man she went through several circles of hell in school due to bullying. A kid who she saved grew up into a mad dog and after being instigated gave her concussion during assault. The young boy she helped out ignored her when she asked for help and thought she wanted to pretend to be his muse. And her actual biological brother without knowledge started it all, because she was framed by a girl he grew up with and considered a sister.
But Yun Feijing is strong-willed and does not care for these, she is happy to start a new life and she knows that unlike those malicious people there are also people who can treat her well.

I have a very strong feeling that I read it once, but actually might have never reviewed it. And I also think I did not finish it like last time. I honestly got tired around chapter 73.
Because most of the characters have no IQ at all and also the beginning was set with all these guys being malicious towards her, but actually such settings are dumb and shallow and lack logic, not that I wait super logic from a novel like this. It's the fact that beginning had so much emphasis on several bad guys who do not appear at all later, I'm not on board with how characters were treated, I don't like how it's so one-sided and plain.
The story has brain-dead beginning tbh. But at least it goes into action from the get-go, one of the guys finally realizes that the girl he chases is the one who saved him.
Because of this he pays more attention and his low IQ brain finally realizes after clashing with a boy Luo Hong (ML) that his followers treated YFJ as a punching bag for bullying. (No really how blind you can be). Then he beats several people who bullied YFJ and also falls out with his friend Zhou Hailou (biological brother).
Another young man who treated YFJ as muse finally realizes his mistake when he sees her again and recognizes her voice (which was damaged due to strangulation (told you it's bloody) and he treated her as one of those girls who heard his story and wanted to pretend to be the muse). So the second one turns against Zhou Hailou and treats Song JiaoJiao as a snake.

Thanks to portrayal of course Zhou Hailou is an idiot with always busy father and he grew up with SJJ and her mother who always whispered in his ears, so he only treats them well and no one else, and also sees no problem in many of his actions.

YFJ was bullied for entire months and her only chance was to get best results in the exam and transfer schools. But She was not transferred at once, she beat up ZHL and SJJ because they threw out her mother's relic and Zhou Jing as ZHL's father stood on his son's side (after all he tragically lost his wife and newborn daughter).
So all good moments for recognition were missed.
Only later he realized that he found his daughter, but she was already hostile to him.
And this is why I didn't like this part, it's shallow, nothing changes in their situation, to make things bloody the father acts like an idiot.
Only the Yun family that fell out with Zhou Jing acted normally when they found the truth that the daughter of their Yun Wan (mother) was found. Yun Wan by this time unfortunatel passed away and in her years when she was alive, she was not in best condition due to trauma, physical and mental.
So yeah everything works in contrast, old school and new school, biological family and maternal family. Like one part is sane and normal, another is bloody and insane.
Will repeat myself but because those two guys who were "saved" bu YFJ appeared in the beginning but the way they wer ehandled was weird. Like the story forgot about them for considerable amount of time, before the story started to fix them all.
ZHL without knowledge was sent to a correction school, he did not spend much time there and was svaed, but he at least realized some of his past mistakes.
Shu Zhe who instigated all the girls who liked him and his exes to bully YFJ was caught back from frauding SJJ and her mother who were chased away from the Zhou family.
The mad dog asked to send himself into a mental hospital (the dude really needed help for his attitude).
The muse guy, have no idea what happened to him, but basically YFJ had attitude of "what a waste of saving you".
SJJ went through the same bullying, due to people finding out she is just a nanny's daughter.
But honestly this is the part that irks me the most. Of course Zhou family is rich and partially this school belongs to Zhou father, but it's not like he's the only rich guy, others are rich too, why they all have to cater to this dude. If all these kids decide to leave the school then it will have no one to rely on. It's just plain stupid to me. Just for the sake of making the story like that.
This is why I got tired in the middle.

Also another big part of the story is YFJ having a space-like library where she strives to get better. This space also helped her when she and her mom were pushed into water and then traveled to another part of the country. Now she used this space for learning etc. She also wants to help others who went through bullying, but honestly a bit naive part, since not everyone would be like her and have the same attitude towards the situation concerning bullying. But at least it has quite forward description of YFJ's thoughts that I think is the best part concerning bullying in general. Something helpful and right.
When she was bullied at ShengHua school Yun Feijing would also wonder "why it was her?"
Is she too different? Too arrogant? Too out of place?
Is it true that flies don't bite seamless eggs? Is it true that pitiful people must be hateful?
But later she figured it out.
    She was just chosen.
If she is ugly, she will be bullied for being ugly; if she is fat, she will be bullied for being fat; because she has no family and no money, she will be bullied for being poor; because she dares to resist and clench her fists, she will be bullied for not being a quiet and honest person.
What is wrong is never being ugly, fat, poor, slow to warm up and introverted.
Being isolated is not because of being stubborn, unique, daring to resist, or not being able to handle interpersonal relationships.
Everything that Yun Feijing encountered was not because of any fault on her part, but simply because she met a group of scum.
A group of scum who, because their families are rich and they think they are born noble, use violence, money, power to trample on others at will.

But is it wrong of me to say I could care less about her learning process, maybe because the parts about her bullying and the fate of others which was desribed with liters of blood poured onto the reader these parts felt especially dull. I admit that it was right to describe YFJ as striving for a better path through learning. Even if she found her family. But that actually put things into perspective, like what if she never found a family or had a family outside of Zhou, what if she achieved all those things without a help, since a lot of things came into her posession after she returned to Yun family. So yeah it was part of the plot that should show that she is worth it, she is loved, she has a family. But now her status is elevated. I admit it was good to see her finding her place in new school with good new friends etc. but from other point not everything she got, she got herself. In short it dimishied her own achievements.

And then I stopped reading and just looked through what chapters were titled. Not something that would inspire me to continue.
Officially I'm dnf'ing it, but not because the story was completely bad. I just got tired of this plot.

RATE: DNF.

[Chinese BG novel] 大佬穿成女配(快穿) by 大白牙牙牙 / Big boss becomes a supporting character

Summary: Third book about Heng Yu. A woman with unknown background who calls herself Heng Yu and turns the tide of her life when she travels the world.

The official description of this novel on JJ is a complete bs and does not represent the novel at all, since it mentions Heng Yu as a stepping stone. Basically, sometimes we know who is a protag and who is not, but usually we know nothing.
In the previous book this is what I liked about the author's style, they did not reveal a thing and the story could flow in unknown direction.
But this time you could hear phrases like "the memory was uploaded" etc. while it doesn't really change everything, we know nothing about the "original" direction. In many cases Heng Yu is not even a stepping stone, she feels like a random fodder tbh.

This novel is shorter and also the style is dry, unlike the previous book which at least could entertain you along with seriousness of some arcs, but this time it's just dry descriptions, a lot of those.
Also the book contains only 4 arcs, even if they're long, but I still think they kinda perfunctory.

Arc 1 is an ancient plane where Heng Yu is the sole survivor of her clan. This is a funnier arc in the beginning since Heng Yu fools a lot of people, here she meets a male protag and actually uses him as a magnet for talents she uses for herself. She starts as a small mountain bandit, then grows the economy of her small place and grows an army from refugees. Then she slowly infiltrates two provinces. Wins the third one and becomes a strength to be reckoned with. Basically returns with glory and restores the good name of her family of generals.
Arc 2 has a martial arts background, Heng Yu wanted to have fun after solving the imminent crisis - she is a fodder to be sacrificed to forge a sword. But then she becomes the best swordsman in the world and with the help of the plot solves the biggest sect that threatened to become sole force in the future.
Arc 3 was a bit much, Heng Yu travels to the funding period of China (mentioned 50's) and helps to solve a number of crisises that her country faces, pretty patriotic arc.
But surprise came from a different angle, not because Heng Yu suddenly did everything, but because she had a partner. If I'm not wrong she never married in any of her lives, but she did here. A good man who did not intervene with her career when they both tried to support the motherland.
Arc 4 and the last one, actually liked it the most and it was more profound in characterization, but also made me cry. In this one Heng Yu decides to be a playboy (crossdresses a lot as a man) as original was in the past, but then she meets two young men, one is a descendant of a general and another is a third prince. The case that was being solved got them involved and by the sheer connection of a life and death situation they became close. The story basically covers up the decision of the three and how the naive young men could change in the turbullent struggle for power. Although Heng Yu warned the third prince, but the other still decided to go on a path that made him dislike himself for doing things he struggled in the past. That struggle resulted in a tragedy and this was such an emotional showcasing of the weight of some decisions.

of course this part can't be compared to the second installment which will forever be my favorite, but the last arc rehabed this novel for me. Because otherwise it felt like a recycled material too.

[AMBIENCE] Sunset Beach Bossa Ambience by Calmed by Nature
