[Chinese BG novel] 继承公司后艺人全是顶流 by 露水沾金 / After accepting inheritance the company is full of top streamers

Default image of the cover.

Summary: Shui Qing was reborn. In her last life she suffered from love. She was a love-brained girl who refused money / inheritance and broke up with her existing family, her uncle, just for the sake of chasing a man. Only two months into relationship and she finds out that her White Moonlight boyfriend hangs around rich women for resources.
As it happened she awakened and was reborn with a system. Now she only has career i her eyes. And as for original "heroine" who is also her cousin Xia Zhixu. She didn't want to deal with her, but this cousin continued to jump in front of her eyes and digging her own grave.

With spoilers~
This novel is a career type of novel within entertainment industry with a lot of slap backs.
Shui Qing realizes that her actions were dictated by the plot, not by her own will. Her cousine is supposed to be a winner in life, but in reality she just takes advantage of everything disregarding the well-being of anyone she uses as a stepping stone.
Now that Shui Qing inherited the company and had to increase the turnover she is already on a different starting line from Xia Zhixu.
It's actually funny how Shui Qing gave all the important people in the company a tome of Criminal Law and info on taxes.
Basically this company belonged to her uncle who moved abroad. He left her his bigger pie - YuShi Group, but to get one she must make this entertainment company profitable.
But the company is full of "our own people", unspoken rules and degradation.
Slowly Shui Qing gets rid of all the scum and bugs who do nothing and concentrates on training people with potential.
The main idol who couldn't act became a great actor.
Her best friend who is also a love-brain girl was sento to a dating show and she returned only thinking about career.
She also found people in trouble or who had potential and slowly the company grew with household names.
The ending of this novel is actually quite great where Shui Qing describes that she started with a goal of revenue, but in the end she now only cares for those artists under her to achieve success they deserve for their talent.

As for her cousine, this is fun. Xia Zhixu is basic venomous and narrow-minded woman. She used the power of her boyfriend (despite obviously being a mistress) and his capital to debut. She used a lot of marketing to promote herself as talented and not touched by mud, but was the muddiest in reality.
She hated Shui Qing, since the uncle left his inheritance to her (though this uncle would never leave it to Zhixu, she indirectly was involved in the death of his only love), she hated SQ's best friend Song WanWan just because WanWan had a good luck even when she was scolded by netizens for her love brain. She targetted anyone and everyone. In the end the official fiancee of her boyfriend, who is a typical president who can't feel it's wrong for a woman to be so vicious, but who also wanted to have a cake and eat it too, they found themselves on hot searches revealing their affair and the fact that Zhixu's boyfriend is engaged and she's a mistress. She was hammered once (brilliant Internet campaign sponsored and produced by the fiancee Sang Me, wa fun to read), but when Zhixu tried to jump again she also got hammered by Shui Qing too.
Of course Zhixu is inconsiderate of her boyfriend and did not care that all her projects he invested into lost money because of her reputation, but all she could do is to demand and keep demanding. All in all a selfish and greedy bitch.

As for the relationship.
The ML is Shen Zhouling (or Chen, I have no idea and MTL kept translating it into one or another), he fell in love with Shui Qing long ago, but she chose the scumbag and now he returned from abroad and they met again.
Since Shui Qing not only didn't care about falling inlove but was actually oblivious, they spent a lot of time together since he reappeared in her life.
She also had another man who wanted to pursue her, but at one point he made a wrong choice and this drove a wedge into the relationship between Shui Qing and Sang Ting, so they were not able to be friends anymore.
As for Zhouling, he was always sincere and supportive, a very good person.
I must admit that I didn't like the situation where they had to disclose their relationship, it felt a bit forced (even if by the time Zhouling was pursuing Shui Qing for some time). Also soon after Shui Qing changed her attitude and was not against falling in love.
In general I was not impressed by the relationship plotline.

The greatest part from this novel would be some witty clapbacks from netizens. I really should have just written them down, some were really good. The only one I remember was "holding 10l of oil in your mouth" referring to someone talking too greasy.
The second best thing when it comes to witty comments were actually dialogues with WanWan. When she was a love brain her character was unbearable, but when she talked about loving Shui Qing, it was witty and on the edge. E.g. when Shui Qing asked what she would like to get, she answered bring your heart that loves me. Honestly WanWan felt like an expert of one-liners.

As a conclusion I had a good time. It's truly not a novel that will just leave you speechless, but it's totally fine in my opinion.

Note: does not involve this review, but actually the author and their other novel that is still on-going, which I started and I must say it also has a potential, it's called 顶级流量她决定发疯[娱乐圈] right now (saying "right now" because I know how many times the title may change. it's a story of a reborn top stream actress who got tired from being a better person and holding it in).

RATE: 4/5.
