Summary: Before knowing that Yun Feijing was the daughter of the richest man she went through several circles of hell in school due to bullying. A kid who she saved grew up into a mad dog and after being instigated gave her concussion during assault. The young boy she helped out ignored her when she asked for help and thought she wanted to pretend to be his muse. And her actual biological brother without knowledge started it all, because she was framed by a girl he grew up with and considered a sister.
But Yun Feijing is strong-willed and does not care for these, she is happy to start a new life and she knows that unlike those malicious people there are also people who can treat her well.
I have a very strong feeling that I read it once, but actually might have never reviewed it. And I also think I did not finish it like last time. I honestly got tired around chapter 73.
Because most of the characters have no IQ at all and also the beginning was set with all these guys being malicious towards her, but actually such settings are dumb and shallow and lack logic, not that I wait super logic from a novel like this. It's the fact that beginning had so much emphasis on several bad guys who do not appear at all later, I'm not on board with how characters were treated, I don't like how it's so one-sided and plain.
The story has brain-dead beginning tbh. But at least it goes into action from the get-go, one of the guys finally realizes that the girl he chases is the one who saved him.
Because of this he pays more attention and his low IQ brain finally realizes after clashing with a boy Luo Hong (ML) that his followers treated YFJ as a punching bag for bullying. (No really how blind you can be). Then he beats several people who bullied YFJ and also falls out with his friend Zhou Hailou (biological brother).
Another young man who treated YFJ as muse finally realizes his mistake when he sees her again and recognizes her voice (which was damaged due to strangulation (told you it's bloody) and he treated her as one of those girls who heard his story and wanted to pretend to be the muse). So the second one turns against Zhou Hailou and treats Song JiaoJiao as a snake.
Thanks to portrayal of course Zhou Hailou is an idiot with always busy father and he grew up with SJJ and her mother who always whispered in his ears, so he only treats them well and no one else, and also sees no problem in many of his actions.
YFJ was bullied for entire months and her only chance was to get best results in the exam and transfer schools. But She was not transferred at once, she beat up ZHL and SJJ because they threw out her mother's relic and Zhou Jing as ZHL's father stood on his son's side (after all he tragically lost his wife and newborn daughter).
So all good moments for recognition were missed.
Only later he realized that he found his daughter, but she was already hostile to him.
And this is why I didn't like this part, it's shallow, nothing changes in their situation, to make things bloody the father acts like an idiot.
Only the Yun family that fell out with Zhou Jing acted normally when they found the truth that the daughter of their Yun Wan (mother) was found. Yun Wan by this time unfortunatel passed away and in her years when she was alive, she was not in best condition due to trauma, physical and mental.
So yeah everything works in contrast, old school and new school, biological family and maternal family. Like one part is sane and normal, another is bloody and insane.
Will repeat myself but because those two guys who were "saved" bu YFJ appeared in the beginning but the way they wer ehandled was weird. Like the story forgot about them for considerable amount of time, before the story started to fix them all.
ZHL without knowledge was sent to a correction school, he did not spend much time there and was svaed, but he at least realized some of his past mistakes.
Shu Zhe who instigated all the girls who liked him and his exes to bully YFJ was caught back from frauding SJJ and her mother who were chased away from the Zhou family.
The mad dog asked to send himself into a mental hospital (the dude really needed help for his attitude).
The muse guy, have no idea what happened to him, but basically YFJ had attitude of "what a waste of saving you".
SJJ went through the same bullying, due to people finding out she is just a nanny's daughter.
But honestly this is the part that irks me the most. Of course Zhou family is rich and partially this school belongs to Zhou father, but it's not like he's the only rich guy, others are rich too, why they all have to cater to this dude. If all these kids decide to leave the school then it will have no one to rely on. It's just plain stupid to me. Just for the sake of making the story like that.
This is why I got tired in the middle.
Also another big part of the story is YFJ having a space-like library where she strives to get better. This space also helped her when she and her mom were pushed into water and then traveled to another part of the country. Now she used this space for learning etc. She also wants to help others who went through bullying, but honestly a bit naive part, since not everyone would be like her and have the same attitude towards the situation concerning bullying. But at least it has quite forward description of YFJ's thoughts that I think is the best part concerning bullying in general. Something helpful and right.
When she was bullied at ShengHua school Yun Feijing would also wonder "why it was her?"Is she too different? Too arrogant? Too out of place? Is it true that flies don't bite seamless eggs? Is it true that pitiful people must be hateful? But later she figured it out.She was just chosen. If she is ugly, she will be bullied for being ugly; if she is fat, she will be bullied for being fat; because she has no family and no money, she will be bullied for being poor; because she dares to resist and clench her fists, she will be bullied for not being a quiet and honest person. What is wrong is never being ugly, fat, poor, slow to warm up and introverted.Being isolated is not because of being stubborn, unique, daring to resist, or not being able to handle interpersonal relationships.Everything that Yun Feijing encountered was not because of any fault on her part, but simply because she met a group of scum.A group of scum who, because their families are rich and they think they are born noble, use violence, money, power to trample on others at will.
But is it wrong of me to say I could care less about her learning process, maybe because the parts about her bullying and the fate of others which was desribed with liters of blood poured onto the reader these parts felt especially dull. I admit that it was right to describe YFJ as striving for a better path through learning. Even if she found her family. But that actually put things into perspective, like what if she never found a family or had a family outside of Zhou, what if she achieved all those things without a help, since a lot of things came into her posession after she returned to Yun family. So yeah it was part of the plot that should show that she is worth it, she is loved, she has a family. But now her status is elevated. I admit it was good to see her finding her place in new school with good new friends etc. but from other point not everything she got, she got herself. In short it dimishied her own achievements.
And then I stopped reading and just looked through what chapters were titled. Not something that would inspire me to continue.
Officially I'm dnf'ing it, but not because the story was completely bad. I just got tired of this plot.
RATE: DNF.
