Synopsis: Hardworking system 996, after getting an excellence trophy is bound to a new host - Lin Nuo. But Lin Nuo is very against working overtime and you can do nothing about her timetable from 9 to 5.
I don't know but this novel gave me a contradictory feeling. It has its' good points and flaws. Since this novel is about world hopping, some worlds may queston the IQ mainly because of characters, but other worlds have their own good point, because of the topic it brings up. I bet many readers felt the same way.
After reading several worlds the topic of a woman facing prejudice and women lives in society suddenly became more prominent. These things are discussed in novels a lot, for example, daughters in households that prefer sons over daughters, prejudice towards beauty in terms of if you're beautiful you're easily called a vixen, but if you're not beautiful you're easily called ugly, prejudice towards character etc. Also there's a lot to do with motivation in characters, although many characters are one-dimensional and they never change and self-reflect, they bring the topic of people always having their own agenda, it really smells of selfishness, self-interest.
I don't know what it is but the hardest is always the first world in QT novels, I barely read it, I mostly skipped it, because I was not interested enough and thought about dropping the novel entirely, but later stayed and now we're here (>.>) Still I had places that I basically skimmed to get the general idea instead of being invested in the story. This is also the downside of QT plots, if you don't dive or don't make your own point or make it interesting enough, it will feel like a shallow short story and nothing more.
The next thing that made me feel contradicted a bit was the MC herself. Our sunflower-liking girl Lin Nuo has good points about her, although she sounds more like a salted fish than a serious worker at first, unless you cross her bottom line, this is where she goes off the rails, yet she gets things done in her own way and I must say I was okay about several worlds and how the plot was executed and what she found in the memories of original owners that helped her to solve the worlds, so it made me actually remember what happened in those worlds instead of reading and leaving a blank memory. But when reading as it started, LN made me go through the inner anylisis why omnipotence may be scoffed at by others, but I think it fits the world of QT quite well, Lin Nuo is the example when a person has initial starting capital and that is her professional skill, but in general she has no skills whatsoever other than knowing math and being a programmer and she can't diverse, more like she decides not to, from original owner in skills and become anything else, the point is after the completion of the task original hosts return to their bodies, so they can't continue, if LN would have chosen a different path from their original one. LN basically uses the original memory and preservance to learn each craft. This is how we get through. System is not of a big help at the beginning and the system mall are rarely mentioned/used. Through LN and the narration you feel the author's pov on several topics as I mentioned previously. And because there is such an emphasis on these things sometimes, maybe that's why they stick to memory. But if you think of some characters and their actions, I must say some feel a bit too one-dimensional, as if they stay the same way for the narrative to be successful, instead of self-reflection and progress, so they stay at the same point where they started (more in the spoilers).
Before diving in. Lin Nuo travels the worlds, but she returns to the real world each time she's done, so there's no tragedy in her life when we start reading. She's just a simple worker who signed for a great retirement plan. In original world she is a programmer and because world travelling rewards right away with money, she resigned and became a small rich woman at home. Now onto the worlds.
WORLD 1: True and false daughters
This world has a reborn false daughter that managed to frame the true daughter after her rebirth. Original owner ended up badly with depression and severe social fear. When LN arrived things progressed to the point of a serious frame up. Liang parents are basic type of family in novels who decided that both daughters should live together, but a country bumpkin true daughter can't be put on stage. This is the world where original host likes math and also writing books. It wasn't exciting so I mostly skipped this world. The stupidest thing was when the fake daughter reported her parents and did not realize that her future wealth depends on her parents, but she cut off this path for an impulse when being offended. Which resulted her going on a bad path of serving others for money. Liang went family bankrupt. LN left for original person a path of glory as a best-selling author of sci-fi.
WORLD 2: Substitute
This world had a great toll on IQ of the readers, but as it sound it's a stand-in story. White Moonlight is a wonderful girl (actually good), but she fell in love with a domineering president. They love and hate and can't bow their heads after the conflict. Paranoid CEO hired original owner, original owner wasn't aware and fell in love, in the end to prove innocence CEO sent her to die in a dangerous country. Original host was reborn, tried to stay away from CEO, but it failed and ended up the same. LN arrived and she accidentally found White Moonlight instead of the CEO, so this is where I find it interesting. LN basically served as a stand-in for the girl, but she managed to instill some healthy ideas how true love and respect should be like in a relationship, not the paranoid behavior of the CEO whose sel-exteem is low, but also high at the same time. LN helped this girl to realize what's wrong and White Moonlight left into unknown direction. CEO went mad and later really became mental. LN managed to shield from his attack in this life. But funnily she had no idea that original host will almost fail her, because she had contradictory feelings of love and hate and might have even enjoyed all the chase, but was too ashamed to admit that someone who is responsible of her demise is also someone she loves. There is a word of condemnation towards such toxic behavior of domineering president. And also picks up on a topic of people in power doing what they want, including things that are considered immoral.
WORLD 3: Agent
This one has a couple of different ages, betrayed agent (older woman) and an artist who changed his mind (younger man). Original host led her artist Shen Zhou to success, but the other felt she was too controlling, he betrayed her and cheated with agent's sister, while the scandal where original host was used as a shield, while she was innocent, broke off, it was the last straw against her. Who knows what the message/topic should be, but I felt it was like self-awareness. Original agent spent years of maintaining and promoting the artist Shen Zhou under her. Shen Zhou as LN analyzed later is not self-aware of what agent put into his career and what was his contribution. His lack of self-awareness is his own problem, but also it has to do with his own fandom too. No matter how many hours you spend on doing one thing, if you don't analyze and self-reflect you won't make a progress, this is what Shen Zhou is all about. He also can't simply admit that he's after success, not dreams. After arriving LN set Shen Zhou free as he demanded, in a sugar-coating she led him do what he wanted, especially if he wanted to switch from music to acting, but now she wasn't shielding him from dealing with others, especially if he offends someone, so he could feel the consequences. LN set paths for remaining artists with no overworking, only doing things in your capacity, enough exposure and enough strength. Shen Zhou who was chasing dreams for a second wanted to change careers after witnessing success of his collegues. LN indulged him in his idea, but she knew he will be after bigger things and not the progress a real actor should have. But there was someone who indulged him more and that is original host's sister, Lin Xiao. LN came from a demanding household where parents didn't treat her well, just used as ATM to have face in their small town (honestly, still don't understand that pride in front of neighbors). Lin Xiao was the same, used her sister to give allowance. But now LN cut off these extravagances, she used stick and carrot to train her parents and since Lin Xiao graduated, she can go to work and support herself. But Lin Xiao didn't use these things on herself, she was an avid fan of Shen Zhou, to the point of being psychologically unwell. She was personally communicating with Shen Zhou and instilled all those ideas into his dumb head, that he was right and everyone else was wrong, other people are just jealous etc. etc. LN brought them together and in time two cheaters hit it off, but it made LX wake up that her angel brother is not an angel and she easily changed sides and chased others. LX is the mad type that will cut off her own food, but will support sales of her idol. LN to make things work didn't really do anything to SZ and LX, she just waited for them to self-detonate without her care. LN basically used several events that supposed to happen sooner or later to her advantage, to easily get rid off SZ and her sister and was left with her good reputation. She solved the crisis of being used as a shield by a cheating husband and found out who the true mistress in the incident was. When original host returned she had her good career and followed the path left by LN. LX changes several stars to chase, but the end of her life was nothing more but broken families, she alone and poor and peripherals of outdated idols (I don't know but this exact image hit me the most and I thought of all crazy girls who may ruin their lives chasing idols).
WORLD 4: Cultivation of Immortality
This world had a bit of a twist that I liked. It is also a failed world (punishment for almost failing the previous stand-in world). Original host was a simple and lovely girl with lack of talent and understanding. Her father saved the ML and brought him into sect. ML had great talent, but when original host's father died he promised to be engaged with original host. Days went by. He was talented, she was a simple girl of dreams of having a family. Even if she was bullied he did nothing. Her ending was miserable as she was supposed to be sacrificed, for him to ascend and the path of immortality being re-opened. But this is just a trap as LN realized. ML is a Phoenix god who came to their world to experience tribulations. Several hosts failed before in their tactics (like becoming stronger, killing ML etc. nothing worked). LN decided to play differently. She decided to destroy the faith of humanity in the immortality. More like their faith in fake immortals. SInce LN is a programmer she invented several apps for immortals to use, starting from a forum with discussions, then video app and later library app. Video app played a big role, since it catered to ML who actually had a great self-esteem and deep down believed that he's te one who was bound to succeed. But this diversity in strength when LN faked one girl cultivating while cooking was seen by many. Because immortals were naive to fakes this tactic worked. Many were dissatisfied that some are "chosen", while other will never ascend. And everyone is working only on the path of immortality. So what is the point? ML changed his mind and blackened thinking heaven abandoned him and wanted revenge. During confrontation the truth was revealed, cultivators of thousands of years ago, found unoccupied land which became new heaven, it lasted so long because ppl believed in it, but it crumbled since everyone lost their fate. Immortality was a dream, but who knew it's a false dream, you ascend to wash urinals after other higher gods, what is the point in that? So many people woke up from this fake dream. They chose another path, just living your life and cultivating in your capacity. Since ML was a Phoenix god, LN tactic of blackening him worked and he was killed with a sword. Thus his reincarnation was stopped and the task was a success. Original host returned and lived well, she escaped sacrifice and being killed for others' fake dream.
WORLD 5: Honest man
I guess this is one where LN was mad. Not as mad, but was mad at the original story. Original host had lived with her mother. When her older sister died, her widowed husband was left with three children. It was okay at first but naughty children burnt their house, thus he moved in with his mother-in-law. Original host dreamed of becoming a tailor, but her dream was dragged down by her life with brother-in-law and three children. She had to work and serve others, just because she was instilled by her mother that all four were pitiful, but never took pity on original host, she also did the worst thing, when brother-in-law wanted to remarry, her mother made original host drink and ruined her reputation, so in the end she had no way out. Her child was also miscarried, due to trauma and "naughty" children. She couldn't becme mother again. She lived the rest of her life serving other, her husband, the "honest" man cheated again and again, everyone used her. Even at the end of her life she stayed alone and other onyl cared about inheritance. Her wish was simple to turn things around. What others called an "honest" man was just because this brother-in-law spoke too little, was taciturn, but never had bad habits. But LN saw through his bullshit. He lived with them for so long, never paid a dime and thought it was supposed to be like that. Mother-in-law maybe happy to do it, after all she cared for grandchildren, but LN did not want to serve others. Thus with a tough attitude she drew a line. In due time she exposed this man for not paying a dime and free-loading at their house, always hiding behind mother-in-law when something happens, not doing any chores, she divided family to save her reputation of living under the roof with a man, exposed three children for repeated theft of things at home, so others' reputation that was well-hidden in the previous life was exposed and everyone could take a sniff of their dirty underwear scandals. LN who couldn't sew went on the path of learning and going along with times slowly building her own brand. She also met a man who became a partner in business and they fought along with times. On the other hand the life of brother-in-law and three children, who eventually were chased out by LN was in dire straits. He lost his job, children were uneducated and repeated offenders, he wanted to re-marry but everyone else knew his stinky reputation. The only one who agreed was an opportunistic traverser Li Jian. She knew that LN would be a housewife of a big businessman, but what amazed me is that she lacked in IQ or what, she clearly saw that the one who started growing the brand was LN, but this dude, so she wanted to lie down and wait to become rich. On the other hand this man thought she'd become a good wife, but not. They missed all opportunities to get money (especially demolition). So they lived in hate and poverty. LN helped in all adversities, even built an image of a tough woman who is not easy to mess with. Thus original host returned and had a buffer time. She also married the business partner. Funnily this brand existed in LN's world, so she came back and saw that their world changed and this brand became bigger than ever. So silence is not honesty. The mother also was the biggest problem, the three children, no matter how naughty and disgusting they were, were three little treasures she cared about, even without realizing that she will exhausted caring for them. And other who prefer sons over daughters pointed out that her daughter grew big, why she is blinded. But this type of instilling thinking that these are poor and we must help are harmful.
WORLD 6: Loyalty
Ooh.. this one, it is half-danmei. And it also makes you angry. As a reader I personally don't like stories about otakus or the like of an average man who are reborn to power, they do nothing, but indulge and basically it causes trouble. Here is the same. Dude passed through and became an emperor. Original host was a Queen Mother, but she had no idea the soul could be changed. Previous emperor ruled with an iron fist and majesty, the new guy was like a dodder flower who clang to others. He acquised to approaches of seemingly scheming man Feng Jie, who knew it was love, but he had motivation, he hated the Lin family. Lin family was loyal but was destroyed in conspiracy, but emperor only cared about love. The country was almost destroyed and in turmoil, innocent people falsely accused, but he cared only about his love. Original owner was shocked to see the emperor under another man. LN knew the truth of transmigrator and she played along with him and used his cowardice to guide him. Others were baffled, how could emperor support Queen Mother meddling in state affairs, but Zhou Zhe did so, while he had back and forth with Feng Jie. This time LN played a trick and made Zhou Zhe eat meat before eating it himself, she also made Feng Jie a eunuch to crumble his self-esteem and not let them be together physically. Zhou Zhe was too romantic and felt that Feng Jie fought against adversities as described in history books and was cool and admired him adn stuck to him as a big thigh, but LN was a bigger thigh, she slowly built-up her power, helped Lin family to escape dangers, even if they did not realize or appreciated it. She sent several concubines to spread the branches of royal family. She had little time due to her health, so she had to do it quick. While the kids in the palace were born, Zhou Zhe was tricked to lie to Feng Jie that the Lin family fell one after another, he lied because he was too scared to hurt anyone. While he lived a happy life with paralyzed Feng Jie (again thanks to LN), LN came to power behind the scenes. Her most loyal person was a young eunuch boy who was rescued by her. Tricking Zhou Zhe into abdicating was the last thing in her plan, he was too scared of others to kill him for loving a man that he agreed to abandon everything, but they were caught and killed at the order of LN. Zhou Zhe was too naive and had soft ears, he did not care about the state and people's lives and it was the biggest flaw of his character. He allowed a person who originally was like an enemy to inflitrate his state and all the hard work was destroyed, to let people live in turmoil. LN ruled for some time and then moved behind the scenes, she set several plans and left it to her most trusted people to implement, some things were done decades later (by that promoted little eunuch). Original host could not return so LN had to live in this world for few years. Her wish was completed, Zhou state was saved and her wish was delivered to future generation, not to favor someone, even if it's a person in power, let the people live peacefully.
WORLD 7: There is someone above me
This is where LN went off the rails. Original host was brought up in good household and was naive and kind. She fell in love with a poor boy who went to entertainment. She joined too. But she offended someone who wanted to sleep with her. Her family was ruined and she was brought on a plate and betrayed by her ex-boyfriend. After r* she couldn't do anything and her family was in dire straits, she gave in. After several years the relationship ended, but she found out this man was responsble for everything that happened to her family, she failed in killing him and died instead. LN arrived and found out that she was already on the list of actors and there was no turning back for a while, original host wanted to join the system and pass the civil exam, LN did just that. She pretended to have a backer all the time and called it "someone above me". While others thought it's a financial backer. Since it involves the guy from such heights, LN thought of a plan to bring him down. She developed a taxation program and when she passed the exam she presented it, later was hired, while this old dude was waiting for her to give in she brought the whole Tax Bureaue with her and it was the first blow to his group. But not the last. He was also involved in many r* cases and had evidence in his residences. In this case it was a big help from a young policeman, he was a reborn person who followed the filed case of original LN, they never gave up and eventually caught up, but it was late and original LN passed. Now he had the chance to fix it, so he took part in investigating those victims. Part of this story was dedicated to r* victims and how harsh the society treats them, as if they deserved what happened to them and instead of healing it brough second-hand harm to them. No one understood how psychologically traumatizing it is for victims to be violated and live with this shadow for life. So anyone could understand why LN went off rails and attact with full throttle. Working in the system (aka "someone above her") she brought this guy's industry down, he was also sentensed. She also played a trick on him, making him a eunuch, so while everything was happening he would not harm other girls, which hit his manly self-exteem and drove him half-crazy actually. This world has one of the greatest background characters - a talking parrot.
WORLD 8: Wealth password
This world has an unfortunate woman, who actually had no wish after looking back at her life. When she was only 5 her father passed away, her mother was holy spirit and couldn't help being a push over giving all the compensation. Later she worked hard, but lived in poverty, always thinking others are pitiful, so she became a bigger pushover. At 5, original host had the first break-out, but she was held back, at 10 she changed, she risked everything, but pushed to collect debts from others, otherwise what waits them is the end. She married a man and lived for her family, although she nagged quite a bit, but she worked like her mother, from dawn till dusk to earn money for her family. Her husband thought he was a college student, and though he earned less but felt superior. One day she found out that he cheated with a college student who both of them supported, she couldn't handle it and publicize it everywhere. Then her husband committed suicide. Everyone scorned her for being too harsh. She still supported her son and mother-in-law but one day found out that her husband was alive, he won in lottery and didn't want to share, so he had new wife, the mistress/college student from before and younger son and lived a wealthy life. She collapsed. She worked so hard, but was left with nothing and everyone said she's cold-blooded, too sharp and a shrew. LN ahd no idea how to help this lady, but she first decided to deal with her husband and his family, even for her son she had no love left, after all he hated his mother so much because others told him she's bad and left her, he was bought at the wave of few banknotes his father waved. LN faked a broken arm and stopped working, delegated hald of expenses to her husband, stopped tutoring her son, nagging her husband and didn't care if her mother-in-law ate things she's not supposed to and ended up in hospital with her diabetes. Password to wealth is that fateful lottery ticket, but LN remembered many of them. So she won the lottery and basically went on the first trip after she dealth with her husband, caught him cheating, exposed it to others, divorced him (her husband believed he had a winning ticked, but never saw that it was from the previous draw, but again he didn't want to share and divorced), son left with her husband, since he thought of a good life. LN went on the trip to different places, also found a good dog who was very loyal. She traveled for the original host to feel what it's like through her. She spent money to renovate the old house while she was away, she also saw and helped a mountain village school with scholarships on her way. When she came back the husband was already in dire straits, after all he promised good life for everyone, impulsively left his job, rented expensive house, but it was all for nothing. Poverty showed his true face. His mother was afraid of him, so she never asked for money again and hadn't had enough medicine for her feet, son was afraid of him because of beatings. He was also betrayed by his "true love" mistress, who happened to just raise him as a fish and wanted to live a good life and he was too naive to believe her nonsense. Again everyone has an agenda, she said what he liked to listen, but never realized she'll dump him first and also she sent him to prison for intentionally harming her when he caught her cheating. Well, they were a notoroius couple. LN completed the task and original host returned, to her light and renovated house, with photographs of places she saw and new places to see she wanted to visit, so her life was like a retirement, she traveled and half a year studied, fulfilled the previous dream of attending college. She also supported her son, but lost all her love for him, after all her son like her husband only remembers bad, but never remembered good. Like in comparison she cared and hated Lin mother, but never abandoned her. But her son abandoned her and claimed it was her fault if something bad happened, never being self-aware that his father and new mistress would leave him one day anyway. In this life he still held such a grudge that she didn't support him, but she fulfilled her obligation to him, support his education and expences. The rest is up to him. He lived in a dream like his father of getting rich from lottery, but never succeded, so he ended up alone and poor. The kids who got scholarships from original host were in contact with her, some even visited. She spent a good rest of her life. Time softened her edges, she realized many things. Note: Forgot to mention that in all modern worlds there are sunflowers, either flowers, or paintings or she asks other to give to original host them or they're somewhere in the room. Here she asked to paint sunflowers on the wall.
WORLD 9: A child with a brother
The original host of this world was a naive and kind-hearted person, although she grew up with more weight, she still had kindness in her heart, because of her safe upbringing. She fell in love with a young man, but he refused the original owner and called her a fat pig. Original owner was heartbroken. She also believed his confession although the man just lost in a game and it was a challenge. Later he confessed again and they got married, she lived in this emotionally torturous environment and was more and more sad. Later found out that her now husband always loved his adoptive sister who acted as her best friend, she also believed that her family was destroyed, she got into an accident on her way and had no idea about the truth. The truth was that her brother was too powerful to be overthrown by the clowns and she misunderstood, because she was too believing. She asked to reject this man and stay with her family. Mainly this task was about this girl only half-understanding the truth about world when she met malice of this world. Her world of kindness is the same real as the world of malice, her life can continue to be filled with kindness and she is still the cute little princess in it. This is how the original host managed to grow up mentally. LN didn't bother to pay attention to the young man, she re-connected with the powerful elder brother, also found friends of the past who were real friends of original host, she uncovered some misunderstandings that original host had. This world had mainly five characters. Original host, she actually was an orphan and picked up by Lin family and grew in kindness. Original host's brother had a condition and only felt emotions when he saw original host as a child and asked to take her home. Young man Jiang who finally saw the truth behind hypocricy of his family and his beloved sister, but he still had some troubles with his character and true feelings from original host could not fix it. Jiang's adoptive daughter who used Jiang family and was afraid to be kicked out, was in a relationship with Jiang son, but never liked him. Boy from Shi family, he is an illigitimate son of his father, his mother abandoned him for money and left, his lack of love in life led him to hate and malice towards others, including the characters above. Mainly these kids in one way or another met what they think is the "real" world. But is the world filled with hypocricy real or the kind world is real. Everyone held stubbornly to their own ideas and never cared to self-reflect, except original host. One of few worlds when a character of elder brother easily figured out that his sister wasn't his sister for a period of time. What was good is that LN did not bother to lose weight or change, so to prove that original host was good as she was and had no need to change, she can be loved as she is, fluffy and kind.
WORLD 10: Great Love
Oh, this is love brain and irritating. Some characters really have one-dimensional way of thinking and basically have the same reaction to things that are self-centered and finding excuses for themselves, basically they are the most pitiful, they should be understood etc. etc. Many previous worlds have such characters, it's a bit plain though. This world has a twisted story in the troubled times. Original host was a part of medical family with elder brtoher and two adopted brothers below. Their father died and the eldest inherited his mantle. On the way he saved a man and his daughter, in time they fell in love. But one day their eldest brother was kidnapped to treat a gang leader and died under ambush fire. The former fiance decided to revenge, stole gun and money and left, she was absent for some time, later she came only two times, with a belly and when bringing a wounded man. At that time original host had no idea that former fiance was caught by this gang leader and they had their own sadomasochistic relationship filled with more love than former hate. She dared to bring a person who killed the brother to be treated. Because of this case original host was caught and tortured and lost ability to be a doctor. But this former fiance in her later years when she escaped abroad romanticized their rleationship in a book and described it as the best love on earth, forgetting how this man's wealth came to be. That it was built on blood and death and sin. Many generations in future were captivated by this love and whitewashed the past, only original host who was disabled and paralyzed protested, but who would hear her. LN did not disrupt the progress of the relationship between the two, but she took part in sowing discord and making trouble. Pretty depressing to read, because partially you read about horrible crimes of these gangsters and on the other hand is this braindead love of Feng Lizhen, former fiance. She wanted to revenge, but who is she if not a weak woman. Love sparkled between the two and they continued back and forth love and hate. LN could understand that the latter FLZ just searched for excuses and romanticized their relationship and forgot what harm her man brought her, she enjoyed wealth and danger (which was described as if they were in an action movie), so she felt her heart beat. She was indecisive, she felt that a man who could avenge her was not bad, so she put the revenge back. Even never thought that her opinion of him could be manipulated by his actions. But she searched for self-excuses, as if she didn't want to fall in love, not her fault, her fiance is dead and she is alive, she promises she will make him turn to good path etc. etc. Only she believed that she was right, while all sane people who heard it felt she was a white-eyed wolf, who betrayed the Lin family who treated them so well and had the audacity to propose adopting enemy's child under the Lin family. So she was chased out. But she didn't know that under manipulation from LN the other gang thought she tipped off her man's location and news, this man also believed she betrayed him. LN used others' hands to retaliate, especially the last one was a drug, which was administered by FLZ herself. LN misled many parties, but her family still had to go through separation, one of the brothers died, other survived and joined army, she served as a doctor on the front line. LN left her money and a novel that was later published and discussed, which had all the real people except for main character probably, but in details described the horror and crimes committed. FLZ stayed with her man thinking he can start from scratch, not knowing that his rich life started from scheming and killing, but now he was simply an addict. She was also pregnant. But she lost her child and the man died during attack. Many people died and displaced at that time, she lived in her fantasies of the past, even hating LN more than the man, because if it wasn't for her plotting her man would be fine. She kept whitewashing and one day wrote her own story but it was rejected, since the book published by LN was already out. There is no life in wealth with her descendants living on a copyright fee from selling books and adaptations, no life bought with blood and suffering of others, no romantization of a horrible an who committed so many crimes. His end was deservably horrible and so was hers.
WORLD 11: Broken starlight
The further it goes, the more depressed I get. Because after the previous world this world has victims of trafficking and this topic brings nothing but anger and depression. Original host was born to a trafficked woman, but because her mother tried to escape she was shckled and lived in a shed, life worse than a beast. After giving birth to a boy she suffered and never was able to give birth again, but was still chained. Their entire village is all like that. They breed only sons, while daughters are killed, but it only brings more men without women and it only leads to need of buying women outside which is a vicious cycle. Original host lived such malnurished life till she was 16 and was sold by her father, the new man was nothing more but a beast too. Also the men only want sons, but many don't even want to work honestly, they just wait for others to serve them, even young children. So original host wanted to escape and take her mother away. Since LN knows medicine from previous worlds and knows pharmacology, she picked up things that allowed to implement her plan, she used things to poison her father for him to get sick, used excuse to see doctor, stole acupunture needles, made her father agree to bride price, made him have a stroke, used excuse as a future wife to drive the man's tricycle to town, because the man was too lazy. Since she was behaving well many let their guard down. She did it slowly for people to get used to her taking her father to the clinic. On a fateful day she disguised her mother, took the money and escaped. After a while she reached the city and settled down. Her mother was mentally unwell, so she took care of her before she got better and they could go through getting IDs and cards. meanwhile she sent the documented faces from the village to organization which dealt with trafficked women and children. Eventually the whole village was blocked and searched, many women were saved and taken away, villagers resisted but it was futile. The case was big, many arrested and imprisoned, but it can't be compared to the tragedy. Original host's mother also was one of them and it was only an accident that her mother found her when LN sang the melody her mother sang one day. She actually fatefully met all her relatives, her ex and her father, but she looked too old for her age and those did not recognize her, plus she is unable to speak or react, so she never recognized them. Although this new grandma was against LN at first, since she considered her a child of sin, but she couldn't help that her daughter didn't want to leave with her. They continued this awkward coexistence for some time. She also informed her ex-husband about her daughter. This is a sad situation and a reorganized family. Some continue to search, some give up, the same here, some continued on with their life. But this grandma spent years in search of her daughter. LN was accepted only after finding out that she might be the daughter of the ex-boyfriend. It was never confirmed, the man did not do paternity test and disrupt his safe family, but it was enough for the two parents psychologically accept LN as their granddaughter and continue to live on. The mission was complete before LN was thinking how to implement revenge on entire village. The one who did it instead was a professor she contacted, he concluded that it might be the escaped kid who tipped off the news about the village and he didn't want the child to suffer, he was old, his kidnapped daughter died years ago during escape. He hated traffickers and buyers, so he implemented his revenge himself by planting some radioactive stuff around the village and in time this village disappeared. Such stories are always heavy, we as modern people understand clearly that such people have no throne to inherit, poverty only breeds poverty, you don't need someone to serve you if you can work yourself, but such people don't understand and will never understand. Women no longer live in backhouses, they are as promising and they can support their parents if their upbringing is correct.
WORLD 12: Let's fight, sister
After the first world involving gay couple I skipped it, but now that this world also has a gay couple, I suspect that the author is homophobic. Except of those in "Loyalty", and except main couple here, there is another gay character, but they all have some sides to them and are portrayed in a negative light. Like couple in "Loyalty" disregarded the good for people, here the couple is all about their love and needs. Also many of the previous characters had this one-dimension unrepentent tendency actually, but when you have a rare gay couple it all sounds a bit different. Because the pool to compare is too little, so it leaves the feeling that all gay - wrong. The main point of this world is gay cheating marriage. Original host was PUA'd since childhood, she continuously heard her mother mention her "hard work" and it was so naggy that it was maddening, eventually it dulled original host's personality, she led such a dull life till she was 30, later she was forced to do blind dates, her husband continued to PUA her too. But who knew that her husband was her little brother's lover, they cheated her into marriage so she could give birth and then divorce her only year later. The whole story has this condescending tone that such a boring girl should be happy being married to a good man and if she failed it's her fault her man seeks men. Everything is original host's fault. This is a bit tiring that everyone continues to be in this dimension of seeking excuses, but the story starts to be muddy and long and mulling over the same things and narration continues into long debate on who is who, which begind to be not great. LN who arrived was still away from blind dates. She returned her money saved by her patriarchial parents by a trick (which doesn't sound good, but in previous life her dowry, income and everything was used for younger brother and she was left with nothing, destroyed life and no future), also tricked An Xuyang (the husband) to bleed money, tricked the girl Han Xi into marriage to go through IFV (because in previous world this girl worked as a shield, but wasn't the one to bear the child, she was amazed by the love between these two men and it was noble in her opinion, basically a stupid girl that had not realized the seriousness of situation and kept it from original owner.. but honestly with how LN always protects women in all worlds she let a stupid girl and her family to go through so much pain..don't know it felt bad) and exposed An Xuyang at the wedding. I say tricked, but she simply progressed the marriage and turned fake dating between the younger brother and this fake girlfriend into reality. The girl also was too stupid and was talked into fake marriage then into pregnancy, did not think things through and never thought it was that serious, so she agreed to marriage and bearing children, but when things started to get out of control, especially physically and emotionally when she didn't get the care she needed and couldn't understand why should she suffer for other she finally realized her mistake. LN through operations of getting part of betrothal gift, returning gifts from dates etc. collected money here and there and bought houses that were going to be demolished for original owner to be little rich woman. But there is my opinion about exposing her husband and this is why I think author is quite homophobic and this arc was cruel. It's wrong to cheat on marriage it's true and I understand original owner wanted them have a bite, but LN exposed to-be-husband in live broadcast. It destroyed man's career and life and became a hot topic. There is no comparison who suffered most, but I couldn't understand why go to such lengths. There was one gay character who befriended LN, he asked her not to live broadcast, because any progress their group made will backtrack, but she refused. She said it wasn't her trouble to clean the chaotic gay circle instead of hiding its' ugliness. Although it doesn't go into details, but I do not agree with her point of view here at all, since she may undermine a group of innocent people and it happened. I'm silent about the gay couple, but others in gay community, parents who had no clue had to go through harrassment, what about other members of the family, what did they do to be implicated and be pointed at until mental breakdown? It's not up to her to judge the entire group, if you want revenge, do it in their circle, but why put it on the Internet and implicate people who are truly innocent. And once again, gay circle or not, people are chaotic everywhere, many common bars may not be good, why paint it as if only gay circle is chaotic. Why not concentrate on this couple alone. Although their portrayal made all other gays look bad. And even though it tried to play the card if discrimination, but it followed only after they did something bad and never repented. They did nothing for improvement of their image, but only mulled over how he did these things only because he was discriminated against. Yes, there is a need to talk about it, but not in such context of doing bad, but never repenting about what they did and do things that are considered immoral. This what irked me the most. They saw nothing bad in making a girl go through birth for them when it fits them when they simply could have come out, work hard to be accepted or move out and try to live well instead of cheating money to build houses, cheating wives to give birth for them. So yeah, previous world and this makes me suspect that author is prejudiced. I really have no idea why author decided to write about this, it seems to be a rare topic to be brought up, but I think it's not good the way it was described.
WORLD 13: Thorny Rose
I want to skip this quickly, it had no exciting story. The background is like fighting between European countries in the past. Everything is backwards and also religion stumbles the progress. Original host is a princess who was married to another country, everything went well before they were captured and held as prisoners for a time. Family of four struggled through hardships, mainly because princess, now queen was resolute. The king of this country fell for this woman, despite big age difference. Her husband prayed for her to stay and he and children went back, but she never waited for her rescue, instead she was let go. She returned. Her husband since long given up looking for her, her children were not favored, new woman was favored and her daughter too. Queen was implicated a lot. Cowardly personality of her husband led to country's demise. She tried to resist and build power, she succeeded, but was in the end betrayed by her son who wanted power. LN changed her tactic, she was loud about her return, she slowly intigrated new food into the living of all people, in turns of events used the prop that allowed people to go through hell and confess sins, thus the religion previously serving nobles crashed and ruins were rebuilt as mor eprogressive, also priests started to learn medicine, her innovations helped to defeat the enemy for the first time. Her husband was afraif of the past and tried to hold on to his dignity and power as a king, but it was futile. Even his mistress who witnessed the changed of LN betrayed him. The only character who changed color and switched sides. The ones who asked the Lord God for help were people of this country and not the original host, LN took the progress of their country ahead and it brought the needed peace. Even the children were now not implicated in the fight for power and each realized their own value.
WORLD 14: Yes, madam.
Ancient world. Connected to "Loyalty", same world but 200 years later, country of Zhou. How to make it short... It's again the cannon fodder that should sacrifice for "true love". original owner lived a hapy life till her thirties with her husband and two children, she was virtuous. But then things changed. One of the country corrupt kings was ambushed and his daughter, the Princess, was delivered to another lord to get protection, after all they would be sentenced for killing lords. The girl was pretty and put on the bed, at the crucial point the girl was saved by a general and fell madly in love. She followed him home, was ordered the General's mansion to take care of her, so original owner worked hard, while two were falling in love, mainly because of young girl's rhethoric that they're true love, they should go against all feudal established rule and follow heart. But as a result, yes, General was brainwashed, even children knew and supported this great love, but who was the victim was their own mother. Because the girl was Princess she can't be a concubine and original wife stands in the way of "great love". Everyone persuaded her to divorce but how could she? Where would she go? So in the end she had to bend to power, and even her own father fed her poisoned wine not to get implicated, her death was fabricated as illness and the lovers could go hand in hand. But what next? Original owner didn't know what to do, everyone she cared about betrayed her, even her children, she resented them all. LN arrived a bit earlier than general's return. She used virtuousness of donating dowry to help refugees (those who fled since that killed corrupt king did not help in disastered area). She earned herself a title given by emperor. Later she found potatoes and side-handedly delivered it to the emperor, it has given her title of a county princess too. On the other hand while the arrived Princess did not know, LN used excuse of feeding her expensive food to impeach and demote the princess, to change her status. This changed the following events. Because son and father fell for the same girl, previously they wouldn't dare, but now they dared to pursue. LN also progressed the "true love" from platonic to physical, which was witnessed by reborn daughter, who started realize that previous life was a mistake. While general hid and indulged, he also feared of his actions to be known, even hit his own son and made him disabled (not, LN paralyzed him with acupuncture) planned to use his son as a cover for the Princess to enter the door, because she became pregnant and at the same time there was a big tragedy of embezzled funds and several ministers lost their heads and what they did was a capital offense. Eventually the couple brainwashed themselved that everyone should sacrifice for them and do everything for them. But LN removed the paralisis, so the son could personally deny in front of Emperor and Queen Mother who summoned them that he had no relationship with the Princess, refusing being a cover for someone's selfishness and sin. Princess was demoted and deprived of her title, because the general couldn't handle to confess that he was the father to her child and implicate entire manor. She was sent out, lost her child and used free medical clinic to freeload, although her stay was overdue. Because the entire manor turned against him, his children despised him, the general turned to the Princess, but she poisoned them both, General was saved but paralysed, he spent rest of his life neglected and in mysery. Original host was forcefully returned, LN left her embroidery and ready-made clothes shop, land deed and also edict from emperor so she could divorce whenever she felt like it. Since she hated her husband and children she didn't care for them and forgot herself in her work. Because her daughter was reborn and refused blind date/arranged marriage, she was an old leftbehind girl, LN showed her that if you don't want to matched blindly, you must handle the consequences of your choice. The son also married very late, but he had a shadow from his fathers and princess' relationship, he spent so much feelings but was betrayed and had to listen to "true love" bs. Original host spent good life. But the Zhou country fell, new emperor was an ex-ruffian that was helped by LN in this world, and new queen was actually her maid, which shocked LN who watched the rest of development in retrospective.
WORLD 15: Dear wife
This world actually impressed me by its' core idea the most among other worlds. Original host was sent to the mental hospital, because she suspected that her husband and his sister had ambiguous relationship. She thought she was betrayed and no one believed her. But the truth is much more. Another tasker failed to complete the world, because they let the husband and the sister die. Now it was LN's turn. LN chose tactic of see first and analyze. And came to conclusion that what she sees may not be real. Here comes the question, what is real? I'll spoil the entire thing, since this arc is very short. Original LN had a mad stalker-like suitor, he was quite ugly, but he found ancestor ring with talismans, they had ability to curse. With the help of mad ex-classmate who deep inside hated and was jealous of LN he put two layers of curse on LN. First is that she sees her handsome husband as he is, but sees her daughter as her husband's sister. When this wizard helped to "break" the curse, now she saw this man with the face of her husband, but her husband was ugly and the sister was a child, as she should be. But she knew it was false. The truth was always there, but veiled, her husband was a handsome man who dated her since college and supposed-to-be sister was actually their 3yo daughter. Thus original host was claimed to be mental, because she saw what others didn't see. This suitor did it so she would divorce, but instead it harmed her family and herself. Because LN was in the world of immortality she could get rid off this suitor and found a way to break teh curse, at the same moment original host returned. Returned to her original family and how it looked like. This is the idea that I liked, the truth was veiled in illusion.
WORLD 16: Get caught in the rain
This has unfotunate original host and her son. Origial host was humiliated by her ex-boyfriend and was dumped when she was pregnant. She tried to return him, but instead got condesending payment from the wealthy family where this boyfriend found herself a rich wife. The original host went mad and I find she did not realize how horrible her actions were. She oppressed her son and made him stody almost 24/7, she deprived him of joy of life just to make achievements and prove that her ex-boyfriend was an idiot to dump her. But she miscalculated. Her son grew up as a psycho, he was a genius, but he was mad. His victims started from the cheating father who dumped them, his new family, other people. Woman who used him to achieve success. Later there were even countries involved. Because of such consequences original host could not reincarnate and had to see for herself the consequences. LN who arrived met 13yo boy who was so thin and so gloomy. Her tactic of lying down and doing nothing worked like never before. She eased control, more like she completely released her son from all the previous oppressive tasks, she slowly let him get new friends, enjoy things he could not enjoy before. In the end he was a bit of a mama's boy and was dependent on LN, but it's because of a strong bond and need of affection (since the last person was almost obliterated LN had to live in this world her entire life). He grew up healthy and smart, recruited into research, his wife resembled his mother, also was quite free-spirited and liked to eat. On the other hand there is a wealthy Du family. The truth behind their family is quite.. melodramatic. The daughter of the family got together with Gu Heji, but it was more like Du family let him in for the sake of their daughter, but the truth is, this daughter was in love with a young man, because their status was different they planned to elope, during chase they had car accident, as a result the young man died and she had mental problems. Gu Heji used him similar appearance to appease this young and wealthy lady, but miscalculated. He was treated like a clown and never was a threat and was used just for their daughter to walk out from trauma. DN had her memories mixed, she mixed her dead boyfriend and the current husband. Even her son was not flesh of Gu Heji actually. So part of it is about the fight between Du family and parents of the young man who died. A big melodramatic 52-episodes mess.
WORLD 17: Doomsday crisis
Honestly, after reading this arc the thought that might have existed for a long time resurfaced and took form. These worlds often don't feel like telling a story, but more like I'm listening to the debate of morality. There is indeed a plot and the ending of this arc is great, reality and this world got connected, but unfortunately there is a lot of narrative of arguing by asking question and giving answers. This world is a result (foreshadowing) of the previous thing that was witnessed in "Dear wife" world. When the world collects too much hatered it brings disaster to the world for self-cleansing. Original host is an ordinary girl, when she was in college she was chased by a handsome guy, she did not believe it, but he insisted and they dated. She found out she was a bet and broke up. Everyone thought she's ruthless. He imprisoned her, but because he had status and family no one believed her, traumatised she moved away. She finally got married to a soldier and got pregnant, but apocalypse arrived. On the way he met the man who tortured her. Because she was ordinary she had to go through slumps, was rescued by a good man. But this world is too pessimistic, eventually this man who fought for equality and better future was backstabbed. Original host lost all support and even her born child died. Her wish for her parents to be found and her husband to be found and child to stay safe. LN didn't take the same route, she also managed to unite with the man from previous life, he was reborn and was disappointed in this world. They traveled, saw the tragedy of this world. Later he was inficted but something in LN make his awake. He had power but also became zombified. They found her parents, lived for a while together, but she had to find the husband too, so they were on the road again. Coming to the base from previous life again faced the dominance of powerful on top of powerless. I'm not sure if this man, Shen Zhu, realized that two women are not the same. Seeing the situation to shake the all-mighty Cen family, who knew about the apocalypse before it happened, so they used it to hoard grain, medicine etc. and accumulate power, LN took the old path of sowing discord. And her is where many of the Q&A come from. On their way it was all about people who rely on the strong and demand the strong to protect (the case with Shen Zhu). Others demand that they are treated well. Others on the contrary have powers and think they are superior. When the conflict broke out their argument was why powerless should act superior and why they should listen. It's all conflict of interests. So basically it's not a story actually, there is a plot and the twist that are used to take out the husband from captivity really worked and actually the journey and banter between LN and Shen Zhu had the most impact on me, but there is too much mulling, more like questioning back and forth who is right and who is wrong. Which tbh.. with so many previous worlds that had the same thing going on started to wear me down. But this journey and finally getting rid off the bad guys they returned to the village, which had the protective peach tree, LN left the message that this may be the last place on Earth that could survive, you just need to love this world. Shen Zhu obviously fell for LN, not the original host, but she left and he could only stay with her gift and try to love her and love the world and it be his purpose. In retrospective the world began to change, the village was the only safe and wonderful place, things outside progressed at a different time. In the end the village and outside world were connected. 996 detected that Shen Zhu was outside. But Shen Zhu is actually Ji Ling, they don't belong to the same world, but he got the chance to get connected and so he is here, with identity of an actor and a person who searched for someone. When he saw LN during an ad shooting he later retreated from entertainment industry, bought apartment next to hers and now confessed that he couldn't tell the truth until she visits the world. And this was the MOST romantic thing so far. Their story was so background by far, real world takes too little space. Her return, spending time in leisure or with her friend, Ji Ling previously was like a board character, but now he moves forward and his affection has a reason. But it's also sad, because LN is like a stone and her not accepting him at the moment has influence on him (has to travel to worlds). I just feel sorry, why complicate things suddenly when they were going so fine, so many ups and downs.
WORLD 18: 100% underage
Arc concerning child abuse. Again, the topic is important, but the mulling over the same concepts of wrong this and wrong that takes too long. Plus when characters continue to be one-sided, not to mention the social topic and reaction to it at first were quite one-sided (e.g. when the abused girl story appeared on the Internet everyone said it was okay to beat children to educate them and she was naughty, who knows what she does), which sound a bit stupid, it's as if entire network shares one braincell. I don't think that rl network acts the same. I don't mention a pay-off of these arcs, you just don't feel it among the never-ending criticism of the current system. But I personally think it's not only about law enforcement, but mentality. Asian country has a really strong emphasis on filial piety, it's as if being given birth is the biggest gift, but if you grow up well or not may not be parents' obligation. While living in the west we don't have such mentality and it's more about parents' responsibility to provide their children. Plus I find that there should be organizations that can fairly judge cases of minors' abuse. There are too many concepts involved and this way of thinking been holdng for too long to be easily changed, but I think if some things would have been changed, it'd bring great results in solving problems of minors. Anyway, LN lands into the body of a 9 yo. Original host been abused since birth, her biological mother escaped, father re-married and abused children together, just for the sake of beating. In original line the twin brother died from beating, original host dropped out to work, all money were taken away, married early and died early from fatigue and malnutrition. LN is an adult in the body of the child, she set up a scene to accuse her father, since police in cases of beating children will only negotiate between parties, but won't do much. Because of this case it was filed and was awaiting sentencing. Meanwhile step-mother was beaten into shape by LN and her brother. This training lasted some time. Stepmother thought her husband was a wuss and she eventually cheated, with adulter she accused her husband and he was imprisoned. In the end her new man cheated her out of money and ran away. She, as a stupid woman, personally signed papers without reading and all debts fell on her head. Meanwhile after tossing LN and her brother settled in a small house and LN chose embroidery to earn money. Since LN showed her feet she was followed by captain Zhou, but he was truly annoying always thinking that if she committed one crime she'll be a repeated offender. Also without evidence talked about his guesses with her aunt and even biological mother, which contradicts his attempts at being impassive policeman. What happened next made it feel like we talk about different man, because same captain Zhou took part in abuse case and took custody of a minor girl who was beaten by her father (mostly same motivation as LN, just for the sake of beating). Here he was sometimes aggressive towards unrepentent behavior and you might have forgotten that he told LN that it's her biological father, it's too much to send him to prison, it's all in the past, he'll change. Talking like naive girl. Anyway, there's a big chunk of arc dedicated to this abuse case and switched from LN and her brother, though her brother could use some healing moments. So the latter part, especially when the case is resolved we get fastforward and development of several victims, changed in judicial system (brother became a lawyer and spent part of his time on such cases)... but honestly, I didn't have the wow effect, it only felt like "well, the progress of time requires changes and they happened".
WORLD 19: My rules are rules
Don't even want to spend too much time on writing about this world. It's again a cheated love, marriage, wealth. Original host met a man at her best friend restaurant, fell for him and helped him in a predicament, got engaged, when encountered tragedy left the company to him, but the man emptied her company, conspired to feed her poisonous medicine, made her a cripple and later married his beloved woman - her best friend. Man did it all for money, the "forbearing" story, that I leave you to defraud this wealthy lady, but I will return with money and we'll be happy and I will detroy the lady for not stumbling blocking to appear on our way. So this is it. LN became a boss in this story, most conscious boss and led company to drop the overtime culture, united employees with benefits and things that should be present in any big enterprise. At the same time she angered this fiance as if she cheated on him, and it felt like her feelings are not that deep. Well, her actions actually were like a lucky coincidence, like her will to leave the post of vice president to a woman who will return from maternity leave, the partner felt for this story. Another vice president found out that his wife wanted to divorce him dye to his absence from their life, he spent his free time to patch their married life. Employees were really happy not to overwork and were very loyal. In the end things were on the right way. It was this fiance who had bad luck turn against him, he also was imprisoned with evidence of embezzling etc. By this time original host returned, she fell out with best friend since she always helped them, but in return was fed with poison. This best friend really waited for her man, as if this is the most pure, true love on earth. On the contrary original host had a shadow from such marriage in past life. Anyway, pretty easy arc, nothing interesting to me, more like - look at me being a good boss in the company.
WORLD 20: New men and new women
Basic story of a left behind wife who wasted all her youth on helping her husband to go to college, but instead her husband was overwhelmed with life in the city and didn't feel bad spending hard-earned money and refused to take responsibility afterwards. Original host was sold during hardest times by her father, she was bought as a child bride. The Zhao family was well off, but with the death of house's head it went into decline. Mrs Zhao also felt unwell, all income depended on original host, she felt that when her husband finishes college he can finally support their family of three. Mrs Zhao died, original host went to the city, but was coaxed to work and live in unknown, when time came she was asked to understand her husband and his woman that they were in "free love" and she was arranged, all that feudal bullshit. Anyway, a man without conscience. LN arrived the moment Mrs Zhou died, she went to the city but did not support her husband of course. Instead she found work and because she had no idea what original host will do in the future she was unscrupulous in her actions. She worked in a photo studio and also wrote a manuscript (here I must say, too idealistic and also basically involved technology of future generation, but whatever), so she earned good money for herself and the little son. While living in one identity she used original identity to contact the husband and basically make a little trouble of coming, sayig I need money, grabbing and leaving. "Trendy" LN from the photo studio used her working space to talk the cheating couple into spending time, which eventually drove wedge into the relationship, after all who said that did not think about consumption. This case was known because LN called police when they refused to pay. The girl was naive, but her husband had too much self-esteem. Funnily, he did not recognize LN under the guise. This arc has several characters, they're secondary, but they're basically about the old feudal traditions, new ideas, men and women with old thinking, men and women with new thinking, even those who are disguised in new thinking just to abandon old for the selfish desires or those who can't step out of the old and it's a clash of ideas, plus those who actually progress and step out of boudries. E.g. Zhao Zhenghai is the husband and selfishly refused original host for a better life, although he drained original host of youth and wealth, his chosen person Zhou Shiqin is a romantic girl full of idealism, but was simply coaxed, only when in this life she went head to head with reality she realized that previous romantic bubble was a myth. Then we have Ji Xingzhao, he's a professor in university, but his family has some feudal rules implemented by his mother, he is married without his consent and his newly arrived wife is the epitome of feudal traditions Pan Ruyun with bound feet. She doesn't understand her husband and has more of a condescending attitude and can't accept new ideas, she thinks highly of herself since she's a lady and thinking that only death awaits her she committed suicide, which alarmed the Ji family and allowed her to stay, so she thinks she's a wife, but JXZ doesn't treat her as such. Mrs Pan who is even more like epitome of feudalism, stuck in the past in these ever-changing times, especially when she is stuck with virtues and saving face, while her husband fell victim to the bane of smoking. Tbh by this time it feels like we have a world, we have a task to achieve and original host to make things work or figure out, yet our focus often switches to secondary characters and they comply with the topic/theme picked up for the world. In some world I feel like LN becomes a background board, so the story isn't about her. Logically, if original host must see the world through LN I can't see enough emphasis on it, since we just read the story and only sometimes we hear system 996 that reports on some events, but they are mostly about targeted people and not those involved in the plot and characters who serve as an explanation of author's ideas. The one I felt most for was actually JXZ, he fell for LN, but they couldn't be together, at that time he was forcefully married and his wife was only thinking how to make him fall for her too, although JXZ refused their relationship and also tried to make this wife realize that she could be much more than a woman in a backhouse, yet she never understood his ideas and clang to position of the wife. Note: I have a question, because I'm not aware, since the timeline is indicated as Republic of China, but LN used hair dryer and also another character used paper towels, were there such things at that time..
WORLD 21: Her Majesty, the Queen
Ancient world and final world. This one at least had a funny banter between LN and the ministers, once again her evil doing and inexhaustible ability to talk nonsense and make ppl doubt themselves. Original host was a queen (emperor), she served as an emperor for years and even pulled down her own son. She had three sons and two daughters and couldn't choose from three who will succeed her, because she liked the power so much. Even when her sons rebelled, she accepted it with humor. But what broke her was when her health gave in she saw her three sons surrounding to one woman. They were crazy and unscrupulous. In the end original host was killed by this woman, who happened to be a tsker and this was covered by her three sons. LN's tactic to achieve success was simple - make three princes so tired, so they won't think about anything. She promoted a special course that will allow princes to experience many things and accumulate points for further evaluation. All three were beaten by physical exhaustion. Meanwhile, the tasker girl could not see any of the princes, but LN allowed her to get the chance - become female official and enter the palace. She redeemed the points all the way and joined the top. Next was actually tiring work in the palace, so she was as busy as others. Taking advantage of a festival, she appeared in front of three princes and used props of three day heartbeat. Third prince escaped the influence, because he was too preoccupied by his fiance, who wanted to default on their engagement, after she was reborn, she couldn't follow the third prince. She also told him everything about her past life, so he found strangeness about Wang Yufen. Other two princes so far were influence, but romantic atmoshere kept being interrupted, after all Wang Yufen tried to seduce eldest prince by falling on him and prince was physically in too much pain. The second prince was a bit tempted, but was also too hungry to continue. Later because of the prop ointment and LN's manipulation, eldest prince operated on his crippled legs, but the itch in the bone became unbearable, so his affection turned 0, the same second punishment followed Wang Yufen was surving the second prince who suffered intimate injury during a fight, he also suffered more, because the prop that influences libido around WYF influenced the prince and he suffered the second injury.. then third, then fourth. But she was in touch with him and she electrocuted prince as well. In the end she was thrown into dungeons and interogated, but her strangeness made everyone think she's a monster. Now LN showed her feet and now some "foreshadowing" is explained.
LN returned by her apartment while tearing space. And she now met the "man" aka Lord God (more like white-haired cultivator). The mystery of LN is that she stepped on the path of cultivation in the fourth world, but it did not stop. Thanks to discounted book, that sounded like a scam, she read the mystery of cultivation. In each world her power that involved plants and trees grew. Later in the zombie world she met what supposed to be the goddess, who openly accepted LN. Basically many world accepted her. Her cultivation is more like giving with no benefit (title of the book), the more you give, the more returns and she saved many worlds and in many world she was either in a high position or this position had an influence, so her power grew unnoticed. She also refused Shen Zhu (aka Ji Ling) based on the method. Now her power is the same as Lord God and she was "rewarded" with hundreds of systems to follow up on continue traveling. Of course LN is not happy, she hates works. But she signed the deed and can't help it. Also it's been only this many worlds and her deal says a 100. Well, this is how it ends. LN cultivated, got epiphany, grew and ended up one with power and here is where the novel ends.
Want to note, that sometimes I don't understand why romance novels are tagged romance when at least the main character like Lin Nou don't fall in love. Yeah there was Ji Ling, like a pretty background character when LN returned to the real world, but these were brief and scarce. If you call it romance because stories have romantic relationship that describe others.. then ok. But LN never fell in love. Ji Ling precicely described her "it's hard to chase a stone". Although LN was aware, but she is too free-wheeling. She managed to free-wheel and attract several men and leave them in unrequited love too. What a femme fatale XD
RATE: 3,5/5. It's okay. Although at times it felt like I'm reading some morale codex, but some things were interesting. Although I wish that trait of making bad characters one-dimensional would be dropped off. There was too much hyperbolization of a single character, like blowing out of proportion or there was one-sided situation that pulled the plot. Also there is enough mulling and repeating same concepts again and again, bringing up topic for discussion isn't a bad thing though. But it felt strange, some make you think, other worlds are purely entertaining. I can't deny there were many parts that felt like good ideas. So here we have it. And don't look that original novel is 200+ chapters only, the chapters are long (common avg ~3k characters per chapter, here it's avg ~9k per chapter).
