Sarah is on the journey to pass the Labyrinth and save her little brother from the Goblin King
So many years have passed and I'm still crushing on David Bowie in this movie. He was indeed my childhood crush okay.
I think I re-watched it more than a dozen times, each time at different period of time and each time I find different things and think of different things. Of course with all the modern tech knowledge it is impossible to look at it with childish eyes that had no idea about green screen or other means. Being older I can marvel at how the decorations and background work was done. I mean till this days I haven't seen anything that would sparkle as how this movie sparkled.
And the music. How great is the music in this one. 'As the world falls down' is still one of my favorite compositions ever.
It's such a wonderful story in its simplicity. The beginning is so on-point in showcasing Sarah's character and how she just wants to do her own thing instead of obligations of an older sister. Honestly the kid cried so heartbreakingly. And Sarah couldn't take it anymore and wished for her brother to disappear, only to find out that he was indeed stolen.
It's such a good lesson of the consequences of "those were just angry words".
Now she is on the quest to save her brother and must go through the Labyrinth, meating friends and foes. Basically, having the adventure she always dreamt about. Labyrinth isn't only an adventure, but a path to her growing up.
And of course this movie wouldn't be it without David Bowie. It's not even a point of discussion❤
