Had no idea what this is going to be like.
Simply because all the promo and hype at one point concentrated on Hisashi, while the anime itself covers three different mangas / couples who all belong to the same film club. Which I had no idea about before doing a small research after watching. I looked it up and saw a bit and must say, anime did it justice and more. It's cuter, softer, lighter and gives you time to feel emo.
And because I was so unaware it came as a surprise that basically every couple gets few episodes each. Interestingly, each character is pretty distinct and has something to show. Hisashi and Mao really make you feel the heartfelt love. Giichi and Jin are really fun, I mean Giichi's antics. Rei and Shion are quite the sudden odd pair who found love not expecting it from the two being together.
Not mad that the "falling in love" part seemed fast, there is a part between the lines that hints that the process was long, but because we have not much time you get what you get.
It's already a big progress comparing to the past when yaoi projects were very rare and far in between. due to all the explicit content and restrictions But that was exactly the problem imo. Yaoi couldn't be broadcasted and with the change and concentration on story and romance helped reaching the wider audience (I suppose). And it's true BL.
