[Chinese BG novel] 豪门女配,发疯爆红 by 我要成仙 / Female supporting role goes crazy and popular

Summary: Su Mi died in her world from overworked, crossed into a bloody novel and was bound by a system, which asked her to go crazy to return her luck to her, so she wouldn't end up like original owner. Only by getting luck can she change her fate. This is a bloody novel of mixed babies and her role is the true daughter of a wealthy family, who played a good set of cards badly. The heroine is the fake daughter and the hero is actually.. a brother of heroine's fiance. Looking at such a bloody novel and pretentious characters who think of others below themselves and the indecisive heroine Su Mi couldn't help but clench her fists.

Some say it's a refreshing novel, but I agree and disagree at the same time with this statement.
As the novel starts we have a fight scene and FL dragging someone by their hair, which doesn't happen often in novels. Later she repeats the same trick again and again, but mainly because it's her task to make a scene and untie the knot of original owner. Maybe it is indeed refreshing to see someone literally slapping faces instead of doing verbal Tai Chi. Also in her defense it must be noted that she's basically in a yolo state, she can't go back, if she doesn't do it she will end up badly, also the heroine and male protag don't make us feel bad about them.
But on the same side is the fact that author unfortunately wrote FL as some others and basically created a female version of domineering male CEO, those cringy ones who say "she is my woman and I will protect her" or "if you touch a single hair on her head I'll bury you all", basically the one who disregards the lives of others, believes in his own selfish justice and is a basic criminal. She may not have done those things, but you can't deny if you switch on your brain that she has her own selfish motives, she fights with others with her own method that are not very honest, yes she may be all about protecting her rights and preaching, but some situations are clearly instigated by her. And her agenda is to get the luck and not die. I say it's unfortunate, because if the author balanced Su Mi's character, then the work would have looked different.
Because let's be real, this is tagged as romance, where it could have been No CP and she also acts like men. For example, her encounter with Lin Yue, who is our ML supposedly, she thought not once that she might as well have fun without consequences. Also she thought he was the same as others when he deceived her, but later apologized. So she is basically acting toxic like - it's either my way or you can roll. While at other times she criticizes men for their behavior, but follows the same route.
In more details.

This novel is quite short and the plot is not complicated. Usually I say that novels are long, because they reach 120-130 chapters, but when it's only 50 chapters long then indeed it might feel short. Same here. It's better not to stop and think because the author has a deep hole and everything works in favor of FL, so partially I thought this novel sounds bizarre.
Su Mi arrives at the Lie family, on the Eve she's going to be taken away by her real parents. Her adoptive parents are people-pleasers, so they made the original Su Mi endure quite a lot, thus she had a submissive character that wanted others to love her, to prove herself and lacked in love too much.
She makes a scene at the dinner table with all those relatives who mooch off their family, which was her first luck retrieved.
She is taken to the Su family (btw no one noticed that she is called Su Mi, when her father is named Liu, but her mother is named Zhao, why no one pointed it out..) where she finds the heroine and can't decide if she is a truly a white flower or a green tea, because the heroine, Su Ruanruan, starts to blame herself for occupying someone's life. But she also bends under the insistence of her parents and especially the grandfather of the Su family (who is extremely partial to her) and leaves the idea of leaving the Su family.
Su family has engagement with the Qi family, Qi Xi, but no one knows that Su Ruanruan has been with her fiance's brother for a long time. She can't recognize how bad it is, she also bends under the "fierce true love" of the male protag. WHile not seeing that male protage, Qi Yun, is a basic profiteer as well. So true love or not, but he kept her as a mistress, while he was engaged himself to a wealthy daughter.
Everything in the Su family did not go as well as others thought. Others thought they can use the situation, but Su Mi's "going mad" moments made many people in the SU family fear her with time. You can describe many others treating her the same. But she actually made a valid point. In real life we see many people going apeshit, but in a sense some people use this tactic to get things done. From a perspective my friend described - sometimes if you don't treat people badly they won't start doing things and when you are prone to conflicts with others people might do things faster just to get rid of you, which is true. So she not once mentioned why when me act up in public it's okay, but the women are treated as if they're crazy. Because Su Mi decided to add points to her force value, since she knew about male protag and his ability to basically kidnap people and deal with them regardless of consequences. She also started training like mad. Here she is deceived by Lin Yue, and l though it was out of character that she didn't catch on. He was also at fault, which he admitted, but had to stay on sidelines for too long before being accepted (on her terms of course).
Thus we go through several important time nods that has something to do with original owner's grivances. Such as she had grievance in her heart being compared to Ruanruan at every turn, but basically many people had their own agenda picking Ruanruan, she's a softy and easy to control. But it still left a mark. Especially the grandfathers preference for Ruanruan who knew how to smile and please the old. But because of her affairs with Qi Yun the old man eventually died. His favoritism was obvious, like he was the one who offered to make Su Mi take the role of adopted daughter, he also did not reprimand Ruanruan for soiling the face of entire Su family when everyone saw the video of her kissing with male protag. Next are comments from people and the attitude of male protag and male second and the villain. Qi Yun, Qi Xi and Mr.Pei. First two always thought that Su Mi was vicious, but the problem was Ruanruan has been walking around as if everyone bullied her collectively and no one listened to reason. Which is the brain-dead part of these characters. The heroine has strong tear glands that can work 24/7, by the end of the novel you get tired of her and problems with her head. The villain used original owner to undermine the Su family, so he also had to go for his attitude too.
The most non-diverse opinion of FL is how every man is the same, so I can understand why some treat her as man-hater. She thinks all are the same, all are greasy and think they're handsome and continue to pester women regardless of decline. They also use any means, legal or not, to achieve their goals. And they spout some cringe nonsense all day long.
Maybe the smart part about it is hwo FL used luck to max her force power, then her acting talent, since she played few roles in it and used her popularity to be very vocal on Weibo about some situations that happened to her. Like someone suspected she was kept, she said she kept others. And other examples. She did not shy away from things others would consider to do or not to do. She also did it freely with the capital behind her.
So Qi Yun's situation was uncovered, Ruanruan story was uncovered. Funnily, Su Mi got Qi Yun into prison for defamation. Since he walked aound calling her crazy and always insinuated that she released the video that ruined reputation of both families. But did nto expect her sueing him. Which was indeed refreshing. She may not shut the mouth of others, but she can do it to this one.
Su Mi used some of the public opinion of people with normal thinking to do the groundwork before the trial and since she had accumulated a lot of luck it went well. In short others were trying to use outdated means of bloody novels with cringe male protags to deal with her, like ruining her, harming etc. But she used the power of law to fight back. Although she also used physical force.
Because she was so fierce others did treat her like crazy, but she changed her tune from mania to logic and it was hard to find fault. So others might have been frightened and acted like quales. But she also was right, be peaceful and get your share of the pie,s he won't miss it and will share it, but just don't mess around.
The heroine didn't change her tune much, although many times she promised to change, but because she was too soft-hearted she always bent under the pressure. Her grandpa wanted her to stay and she stayed even if she knew it will aggravate Su Mi's "illness". She was engaged to Qi Xi she didn't love for grandpa, was a mistress for Qi Yun. Then switched to Qi Yun when she was chased and wanted to prove her true love. Some of their behavior brought trouble to Qi family. And the list goes on. She cries and feels that it's all her fault but does nothing or should I say does not consider the situation, the feelings, what would happen with other people. Love-brained girl with a Stockgholm syndrome.

But I still have my main problems with FL. Her portrayal. Although the novel has many good things to say. Like to protect yourself, be vocal, sometimes it's actually working best when you make a scene, don't let others shame you. But other parts are too generalized. For example, all men are put into the same category. She also treats them not seriously too. I thought it would be better if FL would be above these things and not act like men she describes. And also acting like a powder keg that is ready to fight at the slightest inconvenience to herself.
Anyway, I felt unbalanced about her. It was also a bit boring that some of the scenes were like repetiton of the previous ones, fighting, slapping, even her cursing was not imaginative.

Some novels I reviewed previously have such "living in the novel and think every moment is like a movie" characters like Su Ruanruan and many also have these relatives or someone who always protect the heroine for whatever reason and they sound like crazy. But some novels do manage to showcase the irony. This novel made the attempt.

RATE: 2,5/5.

[MOVIE] The Crow (1994) (origins, movie '94, legacy and movie '24)

Part I. Origins
Originally created by James O'Barr, the Crow depicts the story of unpremeditated violence and vengeance. James O'Barr poured out all his real emotions into depicting the story in an attempt to cope with the tragic and unfortunate passing of his fiancee, lost to a drunk driver in a car accident. Thus the main characters Erik and Shelly actually have a life prototype.
The main point of the comic when it comes to tragedy that happened to the characters is that this tragedy came unexpectedly and without any motive. The original situation of the car breaking down on the road and the couple being spotted by passing gang leaves you with the feeling of "what if..", what if they did not go to a picnic that day, what if the car never broke down. Most likely James asked himself these questions too "what if things could be different". But "what if" never happened.
The plotline of the Crow follows the man named Erik (last name Draven appeared in the movie adaptation), who came back to life thanks to mysterious entity we know and see as the crow. The crow is actually like a soul guide that allowed Erik to return to life, neither dead nor alive, to seek vengeance, so he could finally find peace. The Crow is quite brutal and violent when it comes to avenging himself and his beloved, he makes everyone know what for they're paying with their lives. And then the plotline gives us the full backstory of what exactly happened to Erik and Shelly.
Even if the plotline of the story is not new, but it is full of raw emotions of grief, an attempt to forgive yourself and atone.
James tried to cope with his own pain, as he admitted it didn't make him feel better, but for other the Crow and Erik became something they can deeply relate to.
The comic release corresponded with special period of time. It was a period of load of censorship stepping back, many shackles taken down. It felt like this era was full of rebellion, rock and a lot of emotion being poured in art, music and overall cultural impact. It is also the rise of the gothic culture and for it Erik became what they've been looking for. Even years later to many who read the comic, the story became something they could relate to and unleash their strong emotions.
Because this is where the Crow was born from, from deep love, from deep grief.
It's an attempt to cope. In a sense it's the idea to come to terms with yourself, to atone, to forgive.

Part II. Movie '94
Following the great success of the comic, it was evident that Crow would look good as a movie. Truth to be told, if it hasn't become the passion project for Brandon Lee and Alex Proyas, the director, this movie might have ended up a big flop. One might have heard that originally they could have given the movie to Tim Burton, but being honest, Burton has his own style that fits his own projects and there is a term of fitting director and Burton's style would have most likely ruined the Crow that we know nowadays. You could say Brandon and Proyas saved the Crow. But they also created a legend.
To adapt it to theaters several evident changes were made to the plot and characters. And I think the main and the biggest one was to give the gang a motive to commit a crime.
The original comic did not give the gang who just passed by a motive, simply because it was a mirror of true events that happened to author. The tragedy came when no one expected it. So some may not agree to such changes, because the tragedy in the movie you think might have been avoided, if there was no petition from Shelly, but I think that in a way, the motive is there not to make the story so hopelessly tragic. I've read many novels and saw many movies and I feel so depressed and sad for characters that can be said "they didn't do anything wrong, but they met such a tragic ending".
The plot was expanded to adapt to the movie format of course. The motive connected the gang to a big boss (simply making one of the existing characters into a bigger person) and other characters who already existed had their presence expanded, so the picture was more complicated. The added secondary characters, Sarah and sergeant, I see Sarah as "hope" and "future" and the sergeant as "justice" in the story.
And even if the plot is changed, but the tragedy remains.
Due to Shelly's petition with other residents of the house, she was targetted as initiator and also served as a scare for other residents. So on the Devil's night (which is the night before Halloween, followed by the night with most disturbance, such as fires, violence etc. in the movie) they are targeted and are dealt with by a sent group of people. This time it's a reverse from the comic, Erik dies being shot and thrown outside the window and Shelly survived for a little longer before she died in the hospital, just like Erik in the comic.
The after scene is the first scene we see, which is followed by sergeant and Sarah, for whom Shelly cared for, but we know that Shelly won't survive.
A year later the crow appears. Here is the bigger difference from the comic, in the comic appears at the scene of crime, he asks Erik to close his eyes not to witness the pain of his beloved being violated, but of course Erik refused, it felt like he wanted to imprint this hatered, so it also feels like crow appears as a sign of death that will follow soon. In the movie the crow appears at the cemetery and knocks on his grave, Erik is given the chance to return to uphold justice as he sees fit. And honestly even if those intro scenes where Erik follow the path home and finds an abandoned apartment full of memories and those scenes are very emo, but they show the character's anguish and deep sadness and hurt. His mind is tortured by the events as he takes each step closer. Even the almost jump out of the window is basically a replica of what happened to him as an act of going through his memory.
And then goes revenge.
It's interesting to see how Erik deals with people with things those people are initially interested in. Each person has to know the reason for their death and be dealt with things they were most known for. Before he reaches the main person - Top Dollar. Here I agree that if it was in original form, with original storyline, it would have been as great, but might have existed as a shorter film. Is it good or bad should be decided by the viewers. But considering how big of a classic this movie became, I think it can be considered a success.
This movie is like a dark tale, full of cool and distinct cinematography and also great soundtrack to emphasize the atmosphere and the period to which the Crow belongs to. I truly love the cinematography of it. It felt like more dystopian Detroit, full of darkness and fire. It felt like most of the movie was shot as night scenes, with dirt and rain. And even years later, it's still distinct and special.
Unfortunately, this success was not without a tragedy this movie is also known for. And that is what everyone knows, the tragic passing of Brandon Lee due to an accident with the prop gun during filming. I really feel sorry for his family, but I consider them being brave also, since they were the ones who insisted for the project to be finished and Brandon, who was so passionate about it, became the crow in the hearts of viewers.
I also feel sorry for James O'Barr, since he became friends with Brandon and his passing was in nature close to that of his fiancee, something so unexpected.
For many this movie became a support and outlet and I find it one of the greatest things about it.

Part III. Legacy
Now. As a great success The Crow was, as bad I consider the following adaptations. Maybe except one. Because the idea behind Crow might give a chance for other stories to be produced, thus some novels were published, some TV series or movies were produced and even a game. They were not created by James of course, but by other authors. And maybe here is where teh difference lies. James wrote his own story full of real emotions, while for others it might have been a profitable project, which always leaves a philistine taste.
Maybe except for one movie that stood out The Crow: Salvation from 2000. This one at least had an attempt at not being so goofie like others. Maybe they were not aiming at goofiness, but what can you do if it happened. Also Salvation has a completely different character and just uses the lore of The Crow, but at least it has a twist to it, since it has a wrongly accused character who returns to find out the truth, which puts the movie under different perspective unlike the previous ones that were simply followed the route of two people dieing unjustly and one of them returns for vengeance.
For many years the continuations were met with lukewarm response and even the projects met some unexpected events that set in stone the idea that this movie was cursed.
That was, until 30 years later Rupert Sanders came along.

Part IV. Movie '24
Even before watching, just seeing the trailer, my first and foremost desire was to throw eggs at the entire crew, director, producers and the cast. Directors and producers and the screenwriters are responsible for bringing this atrocity to life and the cast agreed to film in this shit.
I am this critical for a reason, because I would be okay if director would not touch the original, but no, they not only claim it to be a remake (Erik Draven is fully a character of the movie, original Erik did not have last name in the comic), so they could leech off the original movie, yet they also messed up the original idea of the comic and the movie into unrecognizable piece of garbage.
*sigh* Let's not talk that this looks bad from the get-go, but the problem lies with the plot they created. And also that character design is just a no, if you look too much like a Joker I mean, all those tatts and the crying tit.
Unlike the original comic and movie, where the tragedy takes place and two good people die, to make young people feel relatable the director made the two main characters junkies, who meet at the rehab, ok?! Meaning director thinks all young people would feel close to a character who came out of rehab... I'm speechless. He thinks all young people are addicts? Who knows what happens in US, but not in the world, in some countries people hate d* so much that you can't even  begin to imagine how bad it is.
Also what the trailer showed. We have this posh couple, living in a pretty big and light apartment, they showed only bed scenes tbh and it looked like they're going to film OnlyFans content. And this is my problem with modern movies, why Hollywood shows love through sex so often lately. They bed, they bath, have corniest dialogues no real people would have. So far I don't feel sorry for them. It's also not really clear why they're dealt with together. A lot of additional shit about the afterlife, which is actually not needed except for time wasted on it, we know he will resurrect, why show it? Then of course Erik, played by Bill is resurrected and he.. has to save the soul of his gf, because the main guy eats souls of people to prolong his life? This was the idea that leaked online and looking at the trailer it might actually be true.
So... how does it look anything like Crow?
If it did not touch the original movie then fine. But sucking blood from the movie and emphasizing that it's about Brandon is just a low move. The soul of the original movie was crashed into dirt.
Not to mention that it looks bad and I hope it flops for real, but also the sad part is that it doesn't look anything special? It looks like many other blockbusters with fights, no special cinematography, nothing. It looks clean and posh. God, those Versace underwear still get to me every time. This couple can afford a big apartment when everyone knows how much it costs nowadays (doesn't director want to be relatable? how about relating in real estate? :D) and they look posh.
I can understand that young people nowadays might not even know the original movie and thus they won't care, since it was released 30 years ago. They often think that something new is new, while this new is just a repackaged old stuff, but it is also transformed beyond recognition.
I'm already super prejudiced towards the movie and maybe it is wrong to judge it so strongly before watching - like, how can you judge before watching. But the leaked ideas about the movie, how the trailers looks like, what director said made me prejudiced towards it.
The only funny part about it are the comments under the trailer on YT.

[Music] EVERGLOW - Zombie

Wow, what a cool concept. Even if the word 'zombie' appeared not once before, but I don't think there was such an MV before. With the theme of mental hospital and all girls being glued to their phones with the contact "ex" they can't reach and the simple lyrics conveying how you feel like you died emotionally after a break-up. I love that it is soft-sounding with great ad-libs. I assume the soft sound is the latest trend among gg where no one chases the high pitch.

[Chinese BL novel] 钓系美人摆烂后爆红全网[穿书] by 矢星弧 / Fishing beauty became popular after letting himself go

The cover is not only beautiful, but also meaningful, which is rare. There will be a scene in a variety show where MC plays a clown. But in general it's also his smirking face that fully represents MC's character when we meet him and know him better.

Summary: Qi Jiashu won the Best Actor, but he had the habit of travelling after filming and now he boarded the plane which traveled to the island. When the plane lost control and crashed Qi Jiashu found himself in a new place, which looked pretty much like a fanfiction from his black fan, where Qi Jiashu was not a famous actor, but a cannon fodder, worse than a vase and also blackened on the network for hyping CP with his teammate, who is more talented than him.
Looking at the situation it wasn't as bad as he thought, he didn't mind if the company would hide him, since he reached heights of being the best actor he didn't need the recognition, but the situation and the need of temporary survival made him open for business again. Unlike the original Qi Jiashu who only had the same name, he acquired more skills through life and could show it off. He knows how to sing, dance, play instruments, compose. Not to mention that he has a face of an angel, but can say the dirtiest things. He is very glib too. As a result when people were waiting for him to flop, he became more and more popular.
But then he came across a person who had a special status in the entertainment industry, Wen Shu, best actor. Yet this person looked a lot like Jiashu's ex-boyfriend from his previous life.
This is the story of Jiashu, who is too thick-skinned to care what people say about him, but so far he has some unfinished business to do in the entertainment industry, including, but not limited to: dealing with his company and especially his agent, finding out if Wen Shu is the same person and.. is this world even real?

This novel has shining points and of course it's not without fault, but mainly it was really good.
Shining points: This topic is always subjective, but to me maybe this one of the few novels (from all that I've read so far) where MC actually has an ex-boyfriend, meets a person who looks like his ex, but also has a dilemma if it's the same person or not. For the context, his ex-boyfriend left him without substantial reason, so he bore a bit of emotional grudge. When he thought he finally forgot the person he meets Wen Shu who is very much alike and not at the same time. Just like him when he arrived, he found the same face in the mirror, but had small difference like a mole on his cheek. So there is a lot going on when it comes to emotional "drama".
Another shining point to me is MC's character, which isn't entirely good and isn't entirely bad. I found him quite charismatic tbh, he also reminded me of the previously reviewed "cured from terminal illnesss when my ex went bankrupt", where MC is also likfe a fox that is thrown in a chicken coop. It looks docile, but it's not.
Actually nice secondary characters, especially Wen Shu's cousin Wei Xinzhou, who is such a lively and nice character.
Possible dissatisfactions: The length of it all, it felt a little longer than it could or should. Although the idea of behind Jiashu and Wen Shu's relationship is nice, but there seem to be a bit too much repetition of the same notion exploring this topic from time to time. Confrontation with some characters either fell through or felt abrupt (more details below).

Characters.
Qi Jiashu. MC. Formed his a little bit perverse character due to his upbringing, more like how he grew up. So although he looks like a cute dude who is liked by everyone, but deep inside he has this perverse and black-bellied vibe, which I found intriguing. His parents died in a car accident, he survived in that car. To get his parent' inheritance you can guess that he came under the care of relatives, but was treated poorly. He escaped on his own and then rellocated to the orphanage where he was on his own for most of the time, he did not care if he will be adopted but one day he was found by a couple who adopted him, for a year, before they got their own child and "could not feed two mouths". As a result he was excluded on his return and even had several near-death experiences due to pranks. This changed his mentality and psychology. And from now on those who try to stumble him will find themselves in predicaments. Later he grew up and depended on hismelf, before one day a man came into the bar where he sang and offered him a phone number which will allow him to enter the entertainment industry. He did and he became popular as a singer and later as an actor. Later he met the man and they became close, they started dating and loved each other, but one day the man left without a decent reason why. It was a blow for Jiashu, especially since his romance was caught by paparazzi and they were caught off-guard and now some people ridiculed them too. Later he became a prominent actor and then there was the plane crash.
Black fanfiction Qi Jiashu. This Jiashu had a totally different life experience. Mostly because in original world his past was a mystery. He was born out of wedlock by a woman named Qi Wan, she worked as a single parent and married a teacher when Jiashu was five. Next year he had a sister and somehow he became this marginalized character in the family. Which Jiashu didn't understand, since he saw Qi Wan and his step-father, who were both really gentle people and would not let the child suffer like this. So this black fanfiction Jiashu had low self-esteem. He worked hard and was spotted by a medium-size company, for his face he was put into draft even before any decent training, so he was a complete blank person, but was ridiculed for that. Later they fried CP with another teammate to boost popularity, but for him it backfired. Next another boy under the name Lu Meng, who had a good background, often received resources that originally belonged to Qi Jiashu. His agent also was a scumbag. So the boy worked, but had no decent income, was blackened but had no help. This fanfiction Jiashu had a bad ending because of this small character Lu Meng.
Wen Shu. ML. Everyone considered him a walking robot. He was polite and decent at all times and only changed when filming. He comes from a very good background. Their family is already a third generation of rich, but his past is a bit sad. His parents are in business marriage, so they did not pay attention to him much when he grew up, he also had an accident because of his father's lover. So he had no love for his parents or relatives (except grandparents). Then he didn't want to follow the path they chose for him and became an actor, sometimes thinking that he was waiting for someone. Many consider him as a big goal. Wen Shu was actually not affected by emotions for the longest of times, but then he met Jiashu and found himself always following Jiashu and paying attention to him. Jiashu happaned to be a big flirt, who could say things without holding back or shame. Slowly he realized that he paid too much attention to Jiashu and it meant only one thing - he fell in love. Wen Shu may be a cold-faced walking air conditioner to others, but to Jiashu he is a double-standard, he is attentive, caring, gentle, loving and overall a great partner.
Wei Xinzhou. The most prominent secondary character from the bunch, firstly he is related to Wen Shu (both of their mothers are sisters) and he is also a very positive, silly and cute person that lightened up the atmosphere.
Other secondary characters that appeared more or less and had some influence were agents from both sides, Qi Wan as Jiashu's mother along with step-father and half-sister and also Wen family appeared several times.
The rest of character are passing foes.

Plotline.
I'd consider two as main lines. One is a career line and another is a relationship line, which actually got a decent chunk of space.
Career-wise. Jiashu had to do business, because he had no money and his contract did not expire yet, so he had to be opened for business again, but it allowed him to gain his first popularity. After all he changed.
He also saved Wen Shu's assitant Mimi at the beginning (which was the actual popularity boost for him), who became first seat viewer of their relationship development. But it also triggered their relationship.
Later Jiashu took part in variety shows and also started filming. Meanwhile, knowing what his agent did he played along, since he wanted the bad guys off the production line, he sued this agent but also played a role in arrest of a mixed-race producer named Erasme, who loved to soil artists.
The one dissatisfaction here is that boy Lu Meng. His basic conclusion was that he got none unlike the agent or producer, although he jumped a lot. Later we don't hear from him. I'm sitting and having such a mess inside my head, as if I'm mixing it with another novel tbh ahaha. Like was it him who wanted to jump the ship and he pretended to care for the team, but he did not...but I might really mix it, because the last scene I remember with him was the party where he wanted to hug producer's leg, his family was decent, but had no connections. Same party where this Erasme producer met Jiashu for the first time and Lu Meng was forgotten. But we don't hear from this boy again, although he made so much trouble.
Later Jiashu did not join any company and found an agent for himself and they started filming again. Basically because his popularity grew after that variety show and saving the assistant incident, he did not want to finish it all abruptly, he still cared for fans. He auditioned and filmed and soon took part in the moive where Wen Shu alsom starred. He had his own reasons of getting closer and he succeeded.
Continuing with career, several shows and the reveal of Jiashu's acting skills allowed him to gte better roles. He always took either challenging roles or those he did not have before, he didn't care how big the role was.
Which included the role in the same-sex movie along Wen Shu, this is where they finally came together.
Several incidents allowed the popularity of their CP grow with time. First it was the 'Black Gold' movie, next it was this literary film and also a cameo from Wen Shu where Jiashu starred as the male lead. This allowed their romance being well-received when they basically blew their own cover during a broadcast. By that time both were prominent figures and people blessed them.
The last part includes the originis of Jiashu of this world, like who is his father etc. A bit lackluster part tbh.

Romance.
Is very different tbh. Usually, no one has an ex, but here it's a main point. Wen Shu looks like "that person" in Jiashu's past. You can guess from him mentioning it a lot that he truly cared about that relationship and it left a mark on his heart. Next thing he knows is that Wen Shu looks like that person, but actually has different temperament and has a different feeling about him, even face. But he had this urge to find out if Wen Shu was the same person, so he flirted and teased and eventually Wen Shu was ready to move, but Jiashu cut him off, saying that he can sleep, but there will be no love. He basically wanted to act cruel, since he was disappointed not finding the traces of that person in Wen Shu. Later they came together again, Wen Shu could not foget Jiashu, even if they parted badly, but he still decided to give it a try. Eventually they did come together and in Jiashu's mind he thought that he let go of his first love and finally could fall in love again, but..
SPOILERS
I don't place it separately as usual, since it becomes obvious even from description and the hint that two men look the same that Wen Shu and "that person" are connected. And they indeed are. It become apparent only later. Same as Jiashu finds himself kind of assimilating with his previous face, he also finds that Wen Shu often has sparkles like his ex and his is basically torn thinking is he the one or is he not. Why is it important? Again, Jiashu often remembers those times with his ex, meaning it was a huge deal for him and for his character being left behind like that was also a huge deal he could not forgive. So his new love looked like old love and it fucked up with his head. Not to mention this world also had episodes that had a sense of deja vu and he could nto decide if this world was real or not. And which world was real?
As it hapens both are real. One has Jiashu, other had Wen Shu. When Wen Shu was little he was poisoned and he traveled to the world of Jiashu, he lived and loved but eventually had his memory of original world back and knew he is going to die in this world, he decided to leave on his own and not implicate Jiashu. Jiashu dies and travels to the world of Wen Shu, which also had his character, so he believed it was the black fan literature, but it was not. Wen Shu also got his memories back from both worlds and assimilated. They had a small conflict because of this, but by this time Jiashu was not as aggressive towards the past and being left behind and decided to give themselves a second chance, since they came together even in this life. So they became happy.
Although the two world theory was a bit messy at times and had a bit of repetitive tone, since it was mentioned a lot, after all the sense of deja vu, what is real, but I don't think it was executed that well. Author could have spent more time on emphasizing the love and hurt of his last life to highlight why Jiashu cared, hated and loved.
End of spoilers~

So although this novel is far from perfect, but it had decent characters and decent parts. Especially some movie scenarios were actually a real tear-jerkers, which sometimes feels rare in novels when authors pay decent amount of attention to movie plots that MCs take part in.

RATE: 4/5. For the feels, Jiashu and novelty.

[ANIMATION] Treasure Island (1988)

One of the best animations I've seen, because of its' style and uniqueness. It simplifies the original story into adventure and a bit of seriousness masked under its' light-hearted tone. Allegedly the intermission songs that are the only parts with real people were written very quickly, which is surprising, since they're quite hilarious and catchy. I still quote some of the songs or diologues in daily life :)

[MOVIE] The Fall Guy (2024)

FUCK!
Leitch, you can do it!
This was fucking amazing. Spectacular, juicy, with irony, a little bit of comedy, a little romance and with awesome stunts. Leitch wouldn't be himself if he did not include some awesome action going on.
I honestly fell in love with this movie, it's really simple and many would brush it off as a popcorn movie, which it is, but I personally find that this genre that has a bit of self-irony suits him a lot. Also because it's not serious, it's easily rewatchable too. And many mention popcorn movies as if it's a bad thing. It's certainly not a bad movie.

The story of Colt and Jody is simple, both worked on a set and were falling in love, but then an accident happened during shooting and Colt was out of business for 18 months. He is called on set again, drops his current job and buys a ticket to see Jody. Jody actually did not expect him. She is now directing her own movie, a big blockbuster about a love story between an alien girl and a space cowboy. Colt is back to be a stunt man again for the main actor Ryder. But after the shoot the producer, Gail, says that Ryder is gone missing and she doesn't know where to look for him, so she asked him to do it. So he gets involved in a simple twist. Which is followed by cars, chasing, fights, plotting, explosions.
And we have "I was made for loving you" by KISS playing in the background.
How cool is that?
There are so many moments and details that are spinning wildly in my head after watching that made it fun, had references, were ironic, were funny.
The romance is also simple, like why things should be complicated? He loves her, lost his confidence, got back to get a second chance, maybe was preoccupied to think twice why he was asked to search for Ryder and not anyone else. She likes him, but because of his disappearance she tries to play it cool and brush it off, but her act is clumsy and not convincing enough. I also think that they're quite lovely.
His feelings for her can be explained in one image, which I find really funny and want to add some corny phrase (not from a movie), which would sound something like: "I'm so hot for you, baby".
I was made for loving you, baby~
Ahaha you can see her reflection in his glasses. And the whole movie can be explained in two images, the second one shows the small humorous details, like him trying to brush off glass for a good minute as example.
Honestly, there is so much more to it, so many details involved and they are jampacked together.

/SPOILERS/
To be honest, at first I did not catch on "who did it" right away and why they asked for Colt to come back. Because there was an element of him being drugged at that moment and who knows who is this guy, is he real, but then you realize that oh, he was asked back for a purpose. They used his love for Jody to lure him back, but led him by the nose to let him enter the hotel and the room and then bam, he can be framed for what Ryder actually did. Deepfake, which is kinda scary to me honestly. Is it simple? Without a doubt. Is it effective? Certainly.
To lead Ryder out of trouble, because he's a big star, Gail created a simple plot of making Colt enter the room and the rest is easy.
Of course if you stop and think about - why would he even care to look for Ryder himself. Or why there is no investigation on making sure it's a real video. Then there will be loopholes, but the movie is so dynamic that you're too into it.
Funnily, the only evidence is destroyed, but to make Ryder confess Jody helps to set a scene with a jump over a canion. And Ryder, who represent some talentless, but very hyped up actor, easily confesses during the ride.
/-/

And thanks for the behind the scenes footage during the credits rolling, many of those scenes I thought were done with cgi, but I was wrong, a lot of it was real, Gosling surprised me.
I would personally give it solid 10/10. It was really fun.

[Chinese BL novel] 回溯 by 二月竹 / Looking back

Summary: Xu Huizhou's mother committed suicide when he was 4 years old, year later at 5 his father also committed suicide. The last bits of wealth were taken away by relatives and after tossing around he ended up in an orphanage. This is the place where he met his four friends he treated like relatives. Because rumors spread that he had a suicide gene he was never adopted, but he watched all four of his friends being taken away eventually. It seemed that they won't see each other again, but years later they reunited at school. Becoming friends again.
Who knew that during the graduation trip these friends will send him to hell and push him down the cliff.
Four of his friends returned with his "suicide note" that claimed his fatigue with life and they sadly told everyone that because of his mother and father way of passing it weighed down on him, so no wonder.
But Xu Huizhou survived. In that primal forest he managed to survive before he was being saved by passing rangers.

Ten years later Xu Huizhou returns for one and one goal only - revenge.
Ten years later his four friends are prominent figures, one "married" into wealthy family, one became a popular idol, one was the general manager and heir to a big group and the last one bcame a prominent figure in psychology. All four lived a good life.

The first time Lu Su met Xu Huizhou he noticed a red flower tattoo on his ankle.
Next time they met his third uncle brough Xu Huizhou back to Lu family as his son who grew up outside.
Then he found Xu Huizhou's puprose.

Note: The surviving issue and the legal part of the novel all serve the novel, so even if there are misses author themselves admit to it. But this doesn't make this novel less exciting.
TW: death, violence.

This is an ultimate REVENGE + THRILLER novel in my opinion. The romance is present in the novel, but it's more subtle and the character's story is more prominent. But it doesn't make their feelings less profound.

The Plot.
I was very excited when I finished reading it, I didn't care to look out for possible misses, because in general I found this novel very well written and layered.
Talking about the plot I will only scrape the surface, because I think one should enjoy it without any spoilers involved.
The beginning of the book seems like we start blank, because of the plot summary we get the primal idea of what happened, but we actually don't know about the main motive behind the actions of four people. Did they collude together or there is something else to it? When I was reading of course I thought about how it would be particularly ridiculous for all four people to stand at the edge of the cliff and push Xu Huizhou down and author did not disappoint. The motivation behind each person is slowly revealed piece by piece. With that we also get the psychological portrait of all four people. But because we get it we actually don't feel bad for them by the end.
The silliest comment I've seen on JJ under this novel that said that it's good, but why involve law? And I thought "how silly", making Xu Huizhou a lawyer is such a brilliant idea.
It's not really a spoiler, because this information appears in first chapters. Xu Huizhou described his survival and also what happened after he woke up. He remembers that night with a blur, because he could guess that there was something in the water he drank, which allowed him drop the guard and eventually be pushed down. This happened in a pretty artistic place, a field of red spider lilies, thus the tattoo he got later.
I was very impressed with such description, so I specifically found an image the closes I think should be to that scene of spider lilies field.
After surviving and being brough to recuperate he finds the news about himself and finds that his existence was basically erased, meaning his files from orphanage and high school were erased, which make us think this can't be done by an average boy his age. The news claimed that his friends brought his suicide note back, no investigation was held and he was erased. Returning back in this battered state would be futile, he was just a weak high schooler who had no means to fight back and it would be hard to accuse his friends of homicide, thus Xu Huizhou returns ten years later as a prominent lawyer. From the novel you can guess why he chose this path, because his trust in others is non-existent, he makes plans and makes back-up plans, but the main stage he doesn't want to leave to anyone, he wants to uphold justice for himself with his own hands, he knows that he is the only one who can't be bought. Thus he chooses the Lu family as his starting point and faked to be the illegitimate son growing up outside, many things come together later. Another thing is - sentences for attempted murder and homicide are different, so you can guess his choice of concealing his identity.
The way Xu Huizhou knows his enemies is actually on another level, since they once were closest people he played on this fact and used it to his advance. The way in evolved felt quite natural actually and partially I found it quite logical, it also represented another part of psychological portrayal of these four people. After all Xu Huizhou looks so much like their dead "friend", he just looks like a mature version, but one thing is to doubt and another thing is strong belief that this friend could not survive the fall down the cliff.
I also loved parts of what each person's fate was, when you look back you get the feeling that it was quite symbolical and meaningful. Because at first the motivation behind the act is too obscure, but when things get revealed one after another you can guess that this accident was not simple. And Xu Huizhou striked where it hurt the most and took away things people cared about the most.

The Cast.
Xu Huizhou. Our MC. Now prominent lawyer. Very smart. His only miscalculation in life was trusting people he considered family, now he returned to pay back tenfold.
Lu Su. ML. in the open everyone knows him as a waste and a playboy, perfect disguise for him to survive before he upholds justice for the accident that took away the lives of his parents. He was the only one who completely dug into who Xu Huizhou really is, but developed feelings and both of their purposes did not conflict each other. He had enough justice and compassion in his heart to let Xu Huizhou go and even help him.
Song Minyan. The one who married into the wealthy Lu family. The same Lu family Lu Su belongs to. He is a basic money worshiper, he married into wealthy family because it was his dream to be wealthy and never care about money. Even if he doesn't have much feelings for his husband, he married for status. You can see from his actions that he despises poor and praises rich. Ironically he created a fund that worked on supporting mountainous areas and poor students etc. Did charity work just for status too.
Shen Yuche. He became a very popular idol and his influence as domestic star was portrayed simply but effectively, fans everywhere, his ads are plastered in every corner, he makes domestic entertainment news boil with his every move. But he is also a psycho. You will easily get the feel that he is abnormal. He considers himself very smart too. He chases Lu Su to the point of obsession and thinks one say Lu Su will belong to him. In everyone's words he is a precious sunny boy, but those in the know actually know he acts better than anyone else, uses every means to be popular and perfect, but disdains everyone who worships him, all his fans included. So you can guess that he likes to play with people.
Gu Mengcheng. The heir to the Daguan Group led by the Gu family. You may ask - why he was orphaned? Because he was an illegitimate son, but it is evident that in his family boys are favored over girls and he is the one who became the heir to the group. He is obsessed with the past Xu Huizhou and finds ton of subsitutes, his assistant is the one of them. Xu Huizhou got close to him through a small case of resettlement that was involved Daguan Group, eventually catching the attention of Gu Mengcheng and leading him out. Gu Mengcheng is the only one who always wanted to become lovers with Xu Huizhou. The "love" of others is different.
Ji Xiuqi. The bystander as I call him. He was adopted by the Ji family and became the perfect son in the eyes of others. In school he was always second behind Xu Huizhou, they were good friends. After finishing studies and being the best in eyes of others he opened his own consulting clinic. The only thing odd about him was an old pen that he used all this time, a sentimental gift from his dead friend. Living a perfect life of a perfect and successful son before he met Xu Huizhou.

As one can guess Xu Huizhou's name originally wasn't Xu Huizhou, he chose it for himself after he survived. It was his new identity. The real name is mentioned later, so it was fun to wait for it to be revealed.

The Relationship.
Starts from seduction. But not in a true sense, it actually sounds more like undercurrent flirting, subtle as a touch of a feather. Lu Su meets Xu Huizhou before he enters the family. Later he probes into Xu Huizhou's origins and slowly puts the pieces of the puzzle together. Although Xu Huizhou made it impossible to dig into his past, but everything leaves traces. Xu Huizhou eventually didn't mind that Lu Su might have guessed his purpose. They did not pierce this piece of paper for a long time. But Lu Su developed feelings for Xu Huizhou early on, he just fell in love for that unfathomed man, he could understand why others also fell under his pants. He wasn't a heartthrob that everyone chased, but he was just a charming cold-faced man. At first it was lus, but later his feelings were deeper, since he wanted to know more about the man he eventually figured Huizhou's past and it also made him feel heartache. Actually they come together much later in the novel, but you can feel Huizhou's feelings through his trust, because previously he did not trust anyone and now they shared the common goal. Their relationship actually is really good to me, so touching.

/!~SPOILERS~!/
Now my favorite part, I can't help but share, because I think the idea is simple, but brilliant.
It is a string that is connected to others strings and by pulling it, it eventually involved all the particiants of the event.
This is the final part of the novel that also included the beginning, many parts of this novel were used in the final part, so it's not like a separate revenge for each person took place, on the contrary it was like a chainreaction of acts and consequences that became a final big blow. So for this final part we should mention the case of reporter Zhang.
Reporter Zhang was the only person who wanted to investigate the case of the top scorer who committed suicide, but instead he met an accident at work, was fired and his reporter card was revoked and he was banned in the industry. This incident involved the bribery of editor-in-chief of the paper where reporter Zhang worked, this editor-in-chief changed the article by reporter Zhang and banned him in the industry. Reporter Zhang for yeas was too busy to survive to care about the case and the highschooler eventually was forgotten. But who bribed editor-in-chief and why? Editor-in-chief was bribed by someone from Daguan Group and the reason was simple, one of participants in that case was Gu Mengcheng, heir of Daguan Group. So they tried to protect their own by bribes.
This is why I say it's simple and brilliant idea, he didn't file case against the four participants in the name of Li Zhan, his true name and his past identity. He used the case of this reporter to consequently bring the case of Li Zhan to light. In this case he could call on witnesses, who were Gu Mengcheng, Shen Yuche, Song Mingyan and Ji Xiuqi respectively. Although only three of four were left by that time.
By this time he aslo achieved his goal of getting closer to the four people, getting rid of Song Mingyan with the hands of others, playing with Shen Yuche like he liked to play with others, making Gu Mengcheng crazy about him and getting him involved with others, letting Ji Xiuqi separate from his family control and finally sticking out from his cowardly shell because of love and guilt. It was a total manipulation.
It was so good, chef's kiss.
And this is why I say their ending is symbolic.
Song Mingyan loved money as his life. He was adopted by a wealthy family as he wished and lived in luxury before family went bankrupt. His father went to other places and Song Mingyan grew up wanting to be rich again. He despised being poor and poor people. For this he went to many places where rich people could be present and eventually caught up with Lu Yian, they hooked up and got married. Lu Yian believed Song Mingyan was chaste and clean, but it wasn't the case. Song Mingyan was the one who pushed Li Zhan down the cliff, his motivation was plain and stupid. He believed that Li Zhan wrote a report letter that disclosed his relationship with his mentor, who had a family. So many of his credentials were achieved through bed with the above-mentioned mentor. Li Zhan saw them by cioncidense and although he never would disclose it in a report letter, but this letter was forged and Song Mingyan was not of the brightest mind was fooled and believed it. His act of pushing Li Zhan was witnessed by two people, Shen Yuche and Ji Xiuqi. Huizhou infiltrated the Lu family just for Mingyan and Lu Su. He played along with Mingyan's charity-loving persona and took him out during outing to a school he supported, because Song Mingyan loved wild mushrooms Huizhou grabbed this chance and easily took advantage of it and drugged him. When Song Mingyan was sick he took him to a hospital, the same one where the wife of his mentor lived. This is so good actually, Huizhou supported this exact school for years, just for the sake of taking Mingyan there, getting him sick and then taking him to the hospital where the wife was recuperating. Creating a coincidence he let the wife, mentor, Mingyan and Li Yian meet. The wife erupted and stopped concealing the events of the past and confronted the two. Li Yian of course was furious and Mingyan was severly beaten by him, later locked at home. Huizhou played the role of a perfect man in the eyes of Mingyan, who in turn looked at his own bowl and wanted to eat outside (achieving his goal and living the life of wealthy did not stop him from wanting more), he did not suspect Huizhou when his identuty of not being Li Zhan was cleared and even thought Huizhou was attracted to him, so he wanted to jump to another boat, which only showed how self-centered and delulu he is. This happened after he saw his own scandal was on the news and the news which kept secretly the two together were also disclosed, Lu Yian was infertile. Which only parents and Mingyan were aware of. Mingyan, who was believed of disclosing the news or at least leaking it to someone who revealed it to the media, was chased out and rellocated into a small apartment. Because of the possibility of digging out the Li Zhan case through Song Mingyan he was silenced and it all was orchestraed as if he committed suicide by jumping. You get it? He jumped from a high place, because he pushed Li Zhan down. Symbolic. By this time it was unknown who did it, but someone he knew.
Shen Yuche. The psycho one. It's not even a secret that he's abnormal. He is the type who wanted Li Zhan to be the closest person to him, not in the intimate sense, but was also jealous of Li Zhan immensely. To him Li Zhan was a perfect person, but Shen Yuche was a calculating and disgusting even as a kid. His family went bankrupt, so he was sent to the orphanage, he refused to admit being the child of his parents, so he created a fasle story for himself. His father was sentenced and his mother was outside waiting to reunite with her child. Shen Yuche played the role of a perfect sunny brother, but also was obviously manipulating things. For example the spread of Li Zhan's parents committing suicide was thanks to him, but he cried and said he didn't think other would spread it, playing a perfect image of a white little flower, pure and innocent, which is truly scary for such a kid. He found it out by coincidence. Later when someone wanted to adopt Li Zhan he dropped a flower pot on the woman's head. He loved to play, was extremely selfish. He chose loving parents for himself. When he was in school he already became a trainee and wanted to have this perfect image in the eyes of others without a single stain, thus the truth about his life experience was wiped out. Later meeting Li Zhan in school they continued their friendship, Li Zhan also saw his meeting with his biological mother on his 16th birthday, he also saw Shen Yuche's indifference when his mother was hurt emotionally and got into an accident not far from their meeting place. He also was the one who wrote the report letter and the fake suicide note, he faked it and framed Li Zhan so Song Mingyan will do something to him. Although he was extremely jealous, he never did anything with his own hands, he always used others. But because once he did it himself at the very end, he was caught. He co-existed with love and hate, but it also felt like love and hate should come on his terms, yet no blemish must be left. He was jealous of Li Zhan who also witnessed his shame, so he thought he was the smartest and made up such a plan. Symbolic is that Huizhou played with him the same way, he sent several e-mails from unknown address and intensified his unrest, caused his fall of image. Thus Yuche for the longest time had suspicion about other people, which intensified paranoia. He suspected Mingyan, thus he hinted at Mengcheng to get rid of him. Then he thought it was other people, so he was in constant stress. He saw Huizhou as Li Zhan's copy and fake, he also witnessed the development between Huizhou and Lu Su. So he was jealous and wanted Huizhou gone, since he was so close to Li Zhan and did not take him seriously and witnessed his embarrassment. At first he used person who had a grudge against Huizhou, but when it failed he decided to do it himself. Thus he was caught. The one who liked to play with others was played around. I love how he ended up, his image was ruined, his popularity brought popularity to this case, but before he was judged in case of attempted murder he was brought as a witness into the case of reporter Zhang. I adored the scene where Gu Mengcheng realised that he was played by Yuche and hit him with the gavel and in the last moment before he lost consciousness he saw Huizhou using the secret sign language only the two of them know, confirming that he was indeed Li Zhan as he suspected. The blow to his head made him into a vegetable, but as Huizhou said - I believe in a doctor who said that people in a coma are conscious, but they feel like being closed in their body like in a black box, thus he wished him to be closed in the place he hated most.
Gu Mengcheng. Was infatuated with Li Zhan. It's almost like morbid obsession, but Li Zhan was the only one he couldn't really touch. He had other relationships, which were either beneficial to him or just for fun, but he still couldn't let go of Li Zhan. So he had an idea of drugging Li Zhan, which happened. So he thought he was involved in Li Zhan's case and it was because of him that Li Zhan had an accident and fell down. Because he was the only one who did not witness how Song Mingyan pushed Li Zhan down he was led astray and used by Yuche. So when others like Mingyan and Yuche offered to forge the suicide note he did not respond and acquitted, because he really believed it was an accident, but if someone will find his involvement he will be done for as the future heir of Gu family. His grandfather was the one who bribed the editor-in-chief and cleaned Mengcheng of his involvement. Mengcheng did not investigate or was suspicious of others, so he took this burden upon himself in his heart. Others who witnessed the whole thing did not clear the misunderstanding and Yuche who knew about Mengcheng drugging the water used it to his own advance in case of Mingyan. He threatened Mengcheng who eventually paid to dispose of Mingyan, so Mengcheng was involved in the suicide case eventually. Because of his obsession with Li Zhan he had relationships with substitutes, he was a wealthy heir who could do anything, so I find it symbolic that he was deprived of everything after he went in. Huizhou actually did not expect that Mengcheng would hurt Yuche in court, but actually with his agressive and impulsive personality it was quite logical.
Ji Xiuqi. Mengcheng was jealous of Xiuqi, since he thought Li Zhan refused him and had a relationship with Xiuqi, which was not the case. Both were close friends, confidantes you may add. But Xiuqi also had dark thoughts about Li Zhan. It has nothing to do with love, but Li Zhan's excellence. Li Zhan was not adopted (due to rumors) and worked his way through hardships (unlike any of them), he managed to be first when he also was working to support himself. Xiuqi was adopted by the Ji family, they are a family of scholars with many students and due time it became evident that he was basically brainwashed into the need of being the first one, if you're not first in the exam then you're a failure. Li Zhan once noticed the pills Xiuqi took, which should stimulate brain cell work, so his achievement had such sacrifice. But Li Zhan was still first in grade and his parents were disappointed. It must be noted that Ji family had a child who committed suicide, so Xiuqi took his place. Because he was afraid of disappointing his parents he was only a witness in the case of Li Zhan, since the path to his success was clear now. Very weak motivation to be a bystander, but you can guess he was unwell mentally. Funnily became a psychotherapist. Huizhou played on his guilt to separate Xiuqi slowly from his parents and make him rebel against the arranged life that was prepared for him. He was also the only one to whom Huizhou confessed that he was Li Zhan and also pointed out that he was not only a bystander, but also took part in it, like he gave the idea to report to Yuche, chose this strange place for vacation, which aggravated his sense of guilt. By this time Xiuqi was deeply in love with Huizhou and wanted to atone through him, protect and love. In the end he confessed in court and provided evidence that confirmed that Li Zhan did not commit suicide, but was pushed down, Mengcheg drugged Li Zhan and Yuche witnessed it in the field of spider lilies.
After reading you kind of get the roles of these four: murderer, manipulator, witness and a scapegoat.
This is the main outline of the story and the role of each person in this case. I found the idea of slowly revealing each person's involvement quite exciting and in a way the ending was like dog eats dog in the most gruesome way. You realize that initially they were not friends of each other, they were friends of Li Zhan. They had a certain grudge against each other after the incident, which had such a result.
But because they had those long-term prospects in mind, no one disclosed that it wasn't an accident. And this is what makes this novel good, this friendship they so insist on wasn't perfect, they are flawed people with flawed character and it made the situation not one-sided.
/~/

Anyway, I think this novel was quite awesome, I'm happy I waited for it to be finished and waited for the right time and mood to read it. The thrill it gave me was something I haven't felt for a long time. And the love between the two was so good.

RATE: 5/5.
